Freckles update

Right now she's lying under my chair.....she reached out with her paw a few minutes ago (touched my ankle), to let me know she was there. Of course, rewarded with some petting. She is now almost asleep, but she made a point to lay where she was connected to my foot.

She has bonded with you immediately. It's like she knows that she is staying with you and you are her mommy now. How cool is that. What a great kitty.

Checking in for the first time in a couple weeks HI ALL!!

I put a copy of the cruise logo in the scrapbook for the cruise or use it to be the cover of the scrapbook (low tech scrapbooker here--binders with clear cover pocket, 8.5 x 11 inch paper pages and glue with plastic page protectors for small items).

Some magnets live on the inside of the front door to the condo which is steel but the outside--hall side--of the condo door is adorned like the door of a house (seasonal wreath, etc.)

But duplicate magnets are pitched after I take the magnet strips off the back as I use them again.

Glad you are having fun and making progress on the project!

Thanks Jan. That's pretty much what I did. I couldn't throw them all out. I kept my favorites of the FE magnets and I kept all of the door magnets that we made. I'm not going to put them all up again, but I do want to keep them to look at again.

We're done with the dining room and kitchen. I did the turtles off the outside porch as well. Next is the bathroom. That should be easy. Then we start with the harder rooms....the living room which is filled with turtles of all sizes and shapes. It's ok because we still have time.

Supposedly Tyler will be told this week that his dad pulled the plug on his Disney trip. He didn't bother telling him when he was with him last, so when Tyler asked me last week how many days until his trip, I told him he needs to talk to his dad. I'm not going to break the news and devastate him when that's definitely not my decision. Dad needs to see the effects of letting him down. So I texted him yesterday asking him to please let Tyler know so his excitement doesn't keep building. He said he will. Hopefully he remembers.

Why did he lead him on. He should have told him immediately so that Tyler doesn't think he's going for any amount of time. OMG he is certainly NOT a good dad to this kid. First he pulls the plug and then he doesn't even let the kid know....so Tyler thinks he's still going and he's getting excited. His dad is setting him up for a letdown. This is so wrong on so many levels. Plan something special with Tyler to ease his pain when he finds out.

Absolutely!!! Heather is the most giving person I know. She's such a thoughtful sweetie. AND she's a lot of fun too!!! I can see why you two hit it off immediately on your cruise and will stay good friends for life.

Can you believe that Carnival cruise ship adrift in the Gulf. That would really scare me. Then they have no water, food, electric or air conditioning. They only have a change of clothes for four days and it's already a week. They are compensating them with a free future cruise, a full refund and $500. That's just not enough.

They are due to dock and get off the ship late tonight. I can't even imagine what they must feel like and what they had to go through.

I will NEVER EVER EVER cruise Carnival.....even before this incident. NO WAY now since it.

I like DCL more and more everyday.

I'm assuming he just thought I'd tell Tyler, I don't really know. He's probably avoiding telling him, thinking I should. But if he doesn't this week, I'm going to have to because I can't let him keep getting excited. However, Tyler hasn't even talked about it since I told him he needs to ask his dad, I suspect because he has a feeling he'll tell him know. He's a smart kid who knows the differences between me & his dad, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's figures out on his own, I'll find out when I talk to him about it.

We talked on the phone tonight and she has a few ideas tossing around. She needs to talk to Tom first, but maybe send Tyler down for 3 days right after school gets out for Bethany's birthday. He's with me that week so I wouldn't have to sorry about asking his dad's permission .

Agreed! Trying to convince her to fly Bethany up in August to go with us on our trip up north because she'd love all the nature, forests, wildlife, etc.

I had too much salt tonight too. We wound up meeting my dad and siblings at Friendly's after Olivia's ice skating lesson. So that was a fun Valentine's treat, and cost me less to take 7 people to dinner than most people are paying for 2 tonight. I'm glad to have my Minnie Mouse water bottle on my nightstand though, because I'm really thirsty from all that salt.

Thanks. Things will work out. He's certainly not deprived, I just hate to see him let down after getting so excited. This will just make the eventual trip that more meaningful for him. Hopefully I can go with him too.

Hey everyone - just wanted to say thank you for still having this thread going, it is comforting to come "home" every once and a while and still see familar names and catch up on things. Life has been very different for us this past 16 months since our last cruise and hopefully we will get to cruise again. I have stayed away from disboards as a whole because I was not dealing well with not being able to cruise. Things are looking better and have booked for the 2014 both TA's - now to save for them (and airfare!)

well i booked the 12 day med cruise that does both mykinos and santorini. we will see how that and a thieves trip work out!!!
it starts in Venice and finishes in Barcelona. also goes to Malta and Turkey.
