the closest walmart is about 45 miles away.

there is a target even closer, but i rarely even make it there. if i am going to L.A. i might stop at Target.

when do we start talking about hijacking this link to Alaska:cool1::rotfl2:

Hijack away! Tyler and I are definitely with you!

Ugghhhh.....poor kid. Tyler just called me, having a bad day because he's so tired that he's crying because he knows when he's tired he gets crabby, as we all do, so he's sure he's going to get in trouble. He said all last week was the same and same yesterday and today. Just so tired. And he hates that he doesn't understand why. He's going to bed on time. I told him he's probably growing right now (because he hasn't in a year) and that makes kids sleep more. But that doesn't help him get through the day. Can't let him miss school just because he's tired, but then again, under the circumstances, considering he's asking for help, knowing himself how tired he is and that he's just "off", maybe I should give him a break and let him miss a day to sleep, just to avoid him getting in trouble which always kills his self esteem for a while. Its a tough call. Fine line. Don't want him to think he can shirk his responsibilities just because he's tired.

Does Tyler have any study hall period, where he could take a nap (authorized)? It's great that he knows he gets crabby when he's tired, but it sux that there's nothing he can do about it. Give him hugs for me.

The special ed teacher lets them take naps in the sensory room whenever needed. I reminded Tyler of that on the phone but he said it's impossible to sleep on the hard floor. I chatted with the teacher and I'm going to leave work early today so I can pick him up right when school ends so he doesn't have to go to child care and can go home and sleep, and I'm also letting him sleep in tomorrow and go to school after lunch.

I would let him come home early from school and take a full day off tomorrow to let him sleep. He's not the type of kid to shirk from his responsibilities. He wants to go to school. But he called to forewarn you that he's having difficulty today and that it might lead to trouble. He's reaching out. I would help him to get over this hump and then let him know that in no means does it happen all the time. Just this one time only.

Awwww poor Tyler, he really does try hard. Help him out and give him a break and then hug him from me. He's such a great kid.

I say we wait until we know this is for certain :)

I think we can safely say that our current poll has ended. We only had 20 people respond, but I don't think you're going to get any others.

So let's decide what the next step is from here. Some people want to do Alaska (which is not currently being offered in the Summer of 2014) and some people want to do something warmer, like the Carribbean.

I think it's important to keep it for July so that more families can come.

Just my opinion. What does everybody else think?:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Excellent!! You're the best mom ever. You knew exactly what to do. I hope that works for Tyler and that he gets some good extra sleep and feels more like himself real soon.

I'm a little confused......July is already released on their website. I thought they were going to add the rest of the calendar. Does this mean that they are going to release more itineraries for the months that are already listed???

I put a "Last Call" notice out on FB for the poll. Since we have not had any additional people participate, I thought I would throw it out there one more time. We'll give everybody another few days and if there are no changes, I think we should end the poll and move on from here.

Is that OK Monica? I certainly don't want to step on your toes. I'm just trying to help you out.

I haven't gone back and read the last few pages, but just wanted to put in my 2 cents for the 9 day Alaska, IF it becomes a reality. But I'll go with whatever cruise the most people can do/want to do. :cool1::cool1:
