Hi Michelle :wave2:

Maz - how are you doing? How's John? The family? Loved hearing/reading your thoughts on the Cunard sailings you did. 1 day I will get on one of those ships (bucket list item). To be on a true ocean liner.

We are good just now thank you Monica. Yes being on the one true liner is a great experience, particularly in rough weather! The sad thing is that due to fuel costs etc, she hardly ever goes full speed so is normally at the fastest Magic/Wonder speed, about 23 knots. I think she did get up to 24 when we were onboard as she was outrunning a bad storm but she can do 30 or more. Shame as I hear it is a great experience to be onboard at the top speed.

Thanks Marilyn, that's great news! I love that you can leave some bags with Cunard and they take care of everything. That's fantastic! John and I will have to seriously look into doing this after he retires and we get settled in. I'm looking forward to it.

I have never heard of Amitriptyline. I will have to ask my doctors and see if it goes well with all my other medications. Is it a non-narcotic so that you can take it long term? I will look into it. Thanks Marilyn.

It is a drug that used to be used for depression years ago but it is given in much much much smaller dosages for nerve pain. A lot of chronic pancreatitis sufferers take it or a sister drug as much of the pain is due to nerve injury. Not a narcotic though it does help you sleep when taken at night. It is good at night as quite a lot of pain is worse at night.

I never forget champagne girls and I enjoyed that day at Panama Canal 08...

Me too Deb. If we get to do the 2014 reunion cruise together we will have a private champagne girls party. Only the THIEVES are invited. We will have fun again.

Good to hear from you and I am okay after had a three bad news in one night, unbelieveable.. two friend and family died (Ian Unlce who lives in Australia) very sad... My brother got paid off (Laid off) today after had been working with granite stones for 37 years. His boss went off to China and left supervisior hand the notice...:furious:

Wow.....that's a lot of bad news. I'm so very sorry and hope that you get some good news soon.

My teenager kids are well and my son had work placement this week and he was doing well and got a box of sweets from work oh that was nice of them...

I'm so glad that you and Ian and the kids are doing well. Good for Keith for doing such a great job.

I am taking them to Ten Pins bowling at tea times oh god I wish I never said that and it is too cold and I love to stay in lol...

Kids love to go out, even if it's cold. I know you would rather stay in, but you told them you would take them so now you have to do it. Hopefully, everyone will have a good time.

Never mind... have a lovely weekend...

Ps Peggy (black lab dog) is 3 years old yesterday...

Scottishwee35

Did you celebrate Peggy's birthday? I used to give my dog Gandalf a frozen piece of steak when it was his birthday. He loved it. He got it because he was a good dog. Angel doesn't get it on her birthday because she is not a good dog. She's crazy and doesn't listen to us half the time.

I'm SOOOO glad to see you guys are holding down the thread without me!!!!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Still offline.. but under the weather the last couple of days...

Hope to be back very soon...

Until then... carry on... you can gossip without me for a few more days... :lmao:

I hope you feel better soon Shell.

We got up to 18 people responding to our poll. That's better than the 9 people that we started with, but it's no where near the number of Thieves that are on FB everyday. It makes me think that they don't want to do a reunion cruise. Maybe we waited too long to do it and we lost a lot of people along the way. We need you back so you can rally them up and see if they want to do a reunion cruise or not.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!

Hope you have a good weekend too Monica. Any plans?

No football this weekend so I'm lost. Next weekend is the Superbowl and then it's all over for the season.

Now I want to get onboard even more. I would love to go 30 knots or more. Maybe a storm will be chasing us when we go and we'll get her to go full speed. Wouldn't that be great.

It is a drug that used to be used for depression years ago but it is given in much much much smaller dosages for nerve pain. I have to be careful with drug interaction....I already take Abilify for depression. I get sick and tired of being sick and tired and I can easily fall into a depressive state. My meds help me with that. Maybe it will be okay because it's a lower doseage. I will have to check with my doctor and my pharmacist.

No plans for us this weekend. John is feeling a little sick....he's been nauseous and careful about what he eats and drinks. Then we had more snow last night....about an inch. So I think we'll be staying in this weekend.

John goes back to work this week, but Friday is his very last day!!! YAY!!!!

Then we get busy packing out this house. We only have one room done so far. We need to pick up the pace.

Just popping in to have a placeholder. I do like the idea of a reunion cruise. For us I don't think we can do anything until 2014. As far as exact timing however, it will certainly depend on work schedules and kids schooling. Right now I am so busy with work I'm not even planning anything very far into February!

Hi Ken. We're not planning to do the reunion cruise until 2014 so that should work for you. I think we need to try and do it in the summer so that all the kids can come. I hope your work schedule and Shannon's will permit you to take a little time off to join us.

Hi to Shannon and the girls. I love to see how big they're getting over on Facebook. It wouldn't be a reunion cruise without you guys!

Just popping on to say hi, super busy this past week with Tyler and run down exhausted for some reason. Hugs to all with bad stuff going on. Happy to see so many people stopping by on here!

Ken, on the reunion cruise, Tyler can help you with your geocaching session this time because he's become quite the addict with his dad, and not only finding but also creating caches for others to find (whatever the terminology is for that). Everywhere we go, he occasionally points out the window to tell me where a cache is. ;)

Can't seem to stay awake today. And when I'm awake, can't stop eating all weekend. Craziness. We played a LONG Monopoly game yesterday that took about half the day, then went out for ice cream, then today the only time we left the house was for church. I think I'm going to bed early.

Hope everyone had a decent weekend....mine was a roller coaster of emotions and too short (as always).

My ex-nephew in law (14 or 15 yo) feel through a roof (working on it with his dad), and is in the hospital. I don't remember what all is broken, but will be in a wheelchair for months. Ian had not been told this, the last time my sister & I talked. Not sure if/when/how they will tell him without a bad reaction from Ian.

Found out the man is still working at Jareds (on the weekends) as well as with the new job, which is good for him, but not so for me. (little selfish moment).

Had my chocolate chip pancakes at Denny's on Saturday - nice leisurely meal, reading my book & playing WWF (there's free wi-fi at Denny's), followed by game night at Will & Mickey's.

And now it's Monday....back to the regular weekly grind.

HI  to all

Deb: we watched part of the Pro Bowl in HAWAII ! Nice to see Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.

Holly: I hope your leisurely weekend recharges your battery and Tyler's so you don't get sick.

Monica: So sorry

Wow Monica, sorry about the nephew's accident! I hope he recovers smoothly with no complications. I'd say "quick recovery" but it sounds like that's not happening. Poor guy!

Thanks Jan. Still tired today, but not as tired. So another early bedtime tonight and hopefully that will help.

Need some patience vibes sent my way please. I haven't had time to mention this yet, but planning was underway for Tyler to get his Disney fix but now it's not happening. I don't get paid vacations anymore (since our big office transition a year ago). I can take time off but just won't get paid. It's not in my budget to lose pay right now because I'm working on saving for our annual summer trip up north. So Heather offered as an early birthday present to treat Tyler to 3 days at Disney if I could afford his airfare and send him down for spring break. I got his dad's approval for him to fly alone, and all was good. BUT.....plans needed to be altered a bit for a variety of reasons, and the new plan was that they were going to take him on the Dream 5/7 with a day at Disney before. He would only miss 3 days of school, and his teacher approved. But that happens to be his dad's week, so I needed his approval to switch weeks and DCL would need us both to sign authorization forms, of course, allowing him to travel without us. Just found out today his dad said no. That's his right, of course, but Tyler is going to be devastated. Dad told me we could discuss his reasons tonight but I'm too mad to be reasonable in a conversation about it, so I just said "No need, but can you please let Tyler know?" I shouldn't be so sad about it but he was so excited about it since he didn't get to go on the Hawaii cruise. But I need to keep in mind that he's certainly not deprived because many kids never have the opportunity to cruise like he has. Sorry to whine, but it kills me thinking how crushed he'll be. And knowing how Tyler never wants to hurt anybody's feelings, he'll probably tell his dad "it's OK, I understand" and his dad will never know how much it's NOT ok. :(

Just checking in...

Here in Jersey for a Drs appt and a special but ohhh too quick little bit of a drive by dis meet...

Deb... Tell John I owe him big time for meeting me... I'm sorry my geography was off a bit... :drive: but my Garmin didn't know where the diner was either... :rolleyes2 I only wish that you could have joined him and hoping that next time it's a longer visit with lots of dis gossip!!! (and some bubbly!!!)

I will hold a few of you in suspense as to the reason for the meet... but I hope to be back here with you all soon...:surfweb:

Sorry.. no pic... it was late (as was I ) dark outside... and I really didn't even think to take one. It was nice to meet the "Kid"...

Got to sit in that wonderful Jersey traffic today... reminds me every time why I left... and the potholes... Only in Jersey could you have a pothole big enough to swallow your car...

Went to see the neurologist for my annual exam/meds check. I've been having an increase in pain in the last couple of months and little zaps of nerve electricity. The Dr. tested my reflexes on the right side and they came out to be hyper... (in other words... if you hit my knee... I might kick you... and I can't tell you where... :rotfl: ) ALL of my nerves on that side are affected. So now I am going to have to undergo all of the tests that I've had over the years to get a new analysis. So that is what I will be doing in the next several months.

I DID try to get the Dr. to give me a script for a cruise... no go... she also said she'd have to go with me.. I asked her if she liked mice... ;)

Just here for an overnight. Going to hit Ikea tomorrow.. my favorite fry pan has almost keeled over... (mom likes to throw it in the oven with the lamb chops...)

I'll check in as soon as I can... :hippie:
