THEN to top that off....we went in to the game and the people sitting behind us - who someone gave them tickets - were from Sarasota lived close to us and told us our 49 year old neighbor died. He was married and his daughter is 7!!

Sorry you had such a tough weekend... Glad to know that John was able to help. Think positive thoughts and say prayers all around...

V, so sorry you had to witness this horrible accident, and so sorry for all involved. What a shame that you cannot find out if the young man is ok. And then your neighbor! Oh my. We will put all of these people in our prayers...you and you family also. How are the girls dealing this this?

It does kind of put things in perspective though.....we LOVE our college football also, get very involved, but it is just a game and in the big scheme. Glad you won though.

the girls are well.....ok, but they have said they will not get on a bike and are asking me repeatedly if he is ok, which has yet to leave my mind as well.
While the accident was being reviewed etc...a COP, rear ended another car because he was gawking....he wrote himself a ticket.....no one was injured.



I just can't get the site out of my mind. I want to know he is ok, I want to know it was an accident and she wasn't at fault. World Peace while I am wanting as well.

I know, isn't it all a giant delima?

Wish I had a crystal ball to know how the WBTA will sell on day one...it is a pretty attractive itinerary, with the Caribbean ports at the end.

V, for you all. I witnessed a pretty bad accident a few years back that also involved a motorcycle. It was a very hard thing to shake...and the not knowing how everyone fared afterwords made it even harder.

above EVERYTHING.....I want to know he is alive and functioning. I worked for a towing company while at UF for a bit and the guys always talked of accident scenes and really until you see on....I don't know how you can process it.

Oh... that's just around the corner... I'm sure they will put the itineraries out as soon as they know the ship is far enough along to set up dates for sailing...

V, that was a horrible thing you all saw, and your girls are likely to have nightmares and act differently for quite a while. Think of how horrifying it was for you to see, but at their age, they just can't process something like that as we can, they just don't have the coping mechanisms that come with age. Just give them lots of love and reassurance over the coming days, they'll need it. I'm so sorry for everybody involved. But way to go John for jumping right on things and staying calm. That's major! Quite a guy you've got there.

Yep, it all comes out of the wallet sooner or later doesn't it? The deposit is supposedly $600 per person for ALL cruises over 10 days...at least that's what I've been reading here.

We'll be getting our Baltic quote from DU and I'll probably do an on-line Christmas booking Tuesday AM as a stand-by. If both get booked, I think I'll hold both reservations all they way thru the Tortola cruise, just to see how the future plays out...if you know what I mean.

$1200 for both of us then. Fortunately, we're only interested in doing one cruise for 2010. If I was booking more than one, that would be way too steep, so I would definitely do the half off deposit. I still need to see what the total price of the cruise is going to be before I can say I'll definitely be on it or not. If it's like $15,000 for both of us......it's not going to happen. I have to talk to John and see where our cut off is and then see where the prices fall. I'm so hoping that it's within our range.

Doesn't it though. It's a nice balance of sea days and ports. It's also got some nice new islands to visit. Oh, PLEASE consider coming with us on this cruise!!!! We would LOVE to sail with you two again......and PJ too if she comes!

V, I can't even imagine everything that happened to you and the family this weekend. There are no words to convey how aweful it is for you and Johnny and the girls. What a hero Johnny turned out to be.....so in control and on command, just taking care of everything. I'm so very sorry for you all and for the boy on the bike and for your neighbor's family too. You'll all be in my thoughts and prayers to find some comfort.

You really must keep checking the local newspapers and find out what happened to everyone. Maybe you could call the hospital and say that you're related???

You could call the police and just ask if he was ok... no specifics though - privacy laws...
