I really want to stay up to read about Gaylean's scout trip to the fire station, but just can't. Too tired and with finally getting rid of that horribly long migraine, I don't want to risk getting another one from lack of sleep. I'll just have to wait until morning!

Goodnight Monica (and anybody else who may show up). :cloud9:

Have a good night's sleep - you can read about the fire house visit tomorrow. Good spending this time with you

Ok... Whoever had EARS... not Mickeys... but Mom's... in the What's wrong with Barbara pool... please come and try and claim your prize... :lmao:

It's official... she's a ditzy woman with an inner ear problem...

ALL of the tests came out good... (and she's talking cruising in '10... Marilyn...I'll tell her about Sept and ask her if it's ok with her to think about it... :rotfl: )

The MRI, MRA, Dopler showed all clear. Not bad for an old dame!!! (I told the Dr. it's because she can usually answer all the Double Jeopardy questions right...)

She just has to work on her cholesterol and her blood pressure was a little high... Thank God she didn't have the tests done right after eating all of those :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

Of course after all the tests, she feels like she should glow...:upsidedow

I'm so glad it's only that...cholesterol & hbp can be dealt w/ - the equilibrium things could be a big thing.

This is GREAT NEWS Michelle! :goodvibes

Good spending time with you too Monica! Here's wishing a good day tomorrow for both of us.

seem quiet without Marilyn!!

Scottishwee35

I know!!!! WE MISS MARILYN!!!

MARILYN... COME BACK TO US!!!

sound great, we might do that sometime future. Maybe I bring my lady friend.

Oh I am laughing now that we could send all the kids to Cheri, or Monica, or Michelle????

Scottishwee35

That's 4 kids... 3 of us??? Who's splitting the one kid into 4ths????

You do realize that all of us in one way or another would spoil those children silly and we apologize ahead of time for all of the damage (ahem...) that we do...:lmao:

Me having to leave early to pick Tyler up from school yesterday created a big stir around the office. They're all worried about what will happen when I have to do this at the new job. They're afraid of me getting fired and being with a job, so negotiations started taking place yesterday to see if I can stay here and make all parties happy. The only person who will be upset is the new employer when I tell him I'm not joinging his staff (if that's what happens). It was foolish of me to consider leaving here when they NEVER have complained once about me having to miss work to remove Tyler from school and/or his doctor's appointments, and nobody has ever held it against me for when it's time to get a pay raise every year. Why would I throw that away for a place that's already told me they do NOT make such accommodations? Yesterday was just a wake up call I suppose.

Holly... do what's best for you and Tyler..

V - are you, John & the girls still coming up to WDW next month???

Let me know the dates & I may even be able to babysit a night for you so that you & John can go have some adult time. (this offer will also go to other families coming to WDW if I can swing it :goodvibes )

Thanks, but I was thinking of bringing mom along with us...:rotfl:

Did not sleep well at all last night....kept trying to figure out what could be done to my house to allow my parents to have their own space while I have my own space. Picturing new door here, new space there....not sure if it would work. Think I'll go jump on Realtor.com and check out some things.

Need to talk to my sister about this - forgot to call her last night until it was about 1030pm. Can't call her tonight as the 2hr Grey's is on tonight, followed by new ER (which will be recorded). :happytv:

Need to talk to my parents too---but about Spain not this other stuff--not yet.

I think you should just get them Angie and Dennis's RV...

I haven't tried in a couple months I think. Just too hard to keep up with something other than here. :sad2:

Holly... do we wear you out?:upsidedow

SO, how did your hair look for the July date? Did Michael laugh or like it?

Keep us posted on Barb  and Michael! :woohoo:

Jan ::yes::

Jan... I chisled it out of my hair before the date... wouldn't want to poke the poor guys eye out just by kissing him hello...

Mom's been answered and Michael is in meetings... :headache: cursed economy... if he wasn't already getting gray...he'd be there after this week...

What was interesting to me is that McCain is stopping his campaign and wants to postpone the debate. Another risky move on his part that might benefit him in the long run.

Uh...huh...

I heard on the news last night that McCain has never wanted to do a debate.

Yup... tryin to get out of it...

He doesn't want to debate. Obama is just a nice guy and experience or not, he can speak so people listen. What will be interesting is Palin and Biden debate. I bet more people watch that. After all, a lot of people think we are voting for vice-presidents and not presidents.

After how she did with Katie Couric??? I don't think you're gonna see much of her...

Hi everybody.:) Just got some internet time so thought I would catch up. Could Gaylean, _Bubba and Venetia refrain from night chats whilst I am away please!!!:lmao:

I've missed loads of quotes just to get through!! Some wonderful photos, thanks.

Deborah, sorry about that. I would be crying too.

All the best for your mop's tests Michelle.:grouphug:

Holly, loads of:hug: for you. This is hard.

Looks like Ian has been sunbathing in socks!!! Great photos by the way.:thumbsup2

:rolleyes1

Well, the keyboard is a bit different from ours at home, and some of the characters are rubbed off so it has taken a little longer to post and there will be mistakes!!! Sorry.

Having a great lazy time. Been swimming and pottering around.

MARILYN!!!! is there SUNSHINE there???? :) :)

We missed you so much. It's not the same without you :sad1:

I'd cry... but it would make my joints all rusty... :sad1:

We all do....cuz we're the family that we chose to be :goodvibes

Uh Huh... Just like it says in my siggy...

How did we find such a group of caring people? I would never tell my family some of the things I tell you guys.

Cause we care... :grouphug:

I don't know how it came that we lucked out with this group, but I am so THANKFUL that it worked out this way :grouphug:

I know that there will be atleast 1 person who will understand where I'm coming from & that even those who don't--I will get empathy & no judgement.
(like w/ my depression....my father doesn't get it....he used to ask me why I couldn't "snap out of it")

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:  <that's us... :flower3: :flower3:

Well he has never suffered from it if he thinks you can snap out of it. I hate people that say we are all medicated and that no one needs them.

Know that feeling...

Hi All.....just checking in.....I'm still reading from page 29.......I'll catch up soon......just wanted to say hi!

Me and John are in Santee, South Carolina. John slept until 12:30am last night and then we left at 1am. We drove until noon today and took a hotel room. We just had breakfast and now we're going to sleep for a while. I'm elevating my legs!!!! Then a shower and shave and we'll hit the road again.

John got a $250 speeding ticket for going 15 mph over the limit. Wow......they don't mess around in South Carolina. He's going to set the cruise control when we start up again to keep him honest.

The weather is not nice enough to put the roof down on the car. There's a coastal storm hitting the Carolinas and Virginia Beach. Tomorrow will be nicer I hope.

Tell John to slow down... and no... I didn't get caught tonight on the Thruway...

So here's what the doctor said. We are to keep the current med, but reduce back to the original dose. And we are to add Adderall or Concerta, which is usually for ADHD kids, but for Tyler it will supposedly increase his impulse control and when that's under control, the other med will be able to help reduce the aggression and anxiety.

So wish Tyler luck please. The Dr. said that like the current med, if the added one works, we'll know right away, probably in a few days, but if it doesn't work, we'll know IMMEDIATELY because when it doesn't work it causes EXTREME irritability. So that's why he gave us both kinds. We are to try one first and if it works, stick with it and if it doesn't work, switch to the other. And if neither work, he'll give us another option at our 10/23 appointment.

By the way, Ice Queen didn't come to the appointment. I suspected she wouldn't. ;)

Thanks Deb. The best part is how his dad has finally been on the same page as me & the Dr. for a while now. Not sure what the heck happened to him, or who that man is and what he did with Tyler's dad, but I'm happy about it! :goodvibes

He loves Tyler too...

Great thought, but I need a 1 story house - after 2 knee surgeries (and facing #3) I try not to do steps

What you need is an elevator!!!

Yes, but only with Jack:lovestruc

Does Bubba know??? Or is that why you want to get him a Capt. Jack outfit for Xmas???

Forgot to comment about the health care card thing...

It's a Flexible Spending Account FSA - I have it this year....I alloted a specific amount of $ to be taken out of my paycheck (pre tax) and put into this account. I chose $500.00. I was sent a debit card w/ the entire $500 on it, and then when it's done, it's done (finished it back in July I believe). Works towards Rx, dr copays, and some other health stuff (like cold medicine). I think it's a good idea - I don't notice the $ from my paycheck.

Cheri - HI!

& your VSA??? Vacation Savings Account???

I'll check into it. Not sure I'd be able to learn how to make all those drinks that I don't even know what they're called or what's in them, but I could try. I don't drink coffee and can't even stand the smell of it.

Holly... You can do LEGAL terms!!! What are you worried about with Coffee for????

Ya Know... except for those Holly & Monica people... I coulda done a whole page myself...

But I wouldn't want Gaylean to be mad at me!!! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

My Dad is on the radio right now....809pm...if anyone wants to listen

http://www.am-1440.com.ar/pgm/reproductor.htm

(words will be in spanish)

Oh I wish it were hours ago... & I could understand more Spanish!!!

He just sent me a big hug & kiss :goodvibes

TALK TO ME NOW PEOPLE!!! Cuz I'm going to be off line in a 1/2 hr to watch Grey's!!!:happytv:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:  :cool1:

Wow...you're pushy tonight... been waiting a long time for the season to begin??? :lmao:

Tyler LOVED it! His dad, not so much. I wanted to slap that man. Or maybe beat him with the same hammer I'm going to use on my crappy computer.

Aren't you glad you're not married to him???

Holly... forgot to ask... does he have any other kids???

Not a job - a hobby. He has 2 shows a week...1 usually dedicated to Glenn Miller & the other one (Thursdays) to jazz in general.

Both he & my mom are retired.

Oh... I LOVE Glenn Miller... Moonlight Serenade... :lovestruc

I totally forgot to ask you how this went....sounds like that lawyer is on the ball! Keep us informed :thumbsup2

Sounds like he doesn't want to LOSE you!!! :woohoo:

Not a disaster.....family :grouphug:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'm so glad it's only that...cholesterol & hbp can be dealt w/ - the equilibrium things could be a big thing.

This is GREAT NEWS Michelle! :goodvibes

Thanks much!!! I'm relieved... so is mom... we thought the other way until this afternoon... she has a very good Dr. in Jersey that was her's for years that's why we went back.. .he pulled all kinds of strings to get the tests done in the last 2 days...

Good spending time with you too Monica! Here's wishing a good day tomorrow for both of us.

From your mouth (fingers) to God's ears (eyes) :goodvibes

Ditto!!!! :)

I'm back.....the meeting went well except we went to the museum instead of the fire station :confused3 I think the boy scouts fly by the seat of their pants :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I would NEVER change a girl scout meeting on my parents. Of course they all drop off so that would be strange  Anyway, it was interesting because we went to an Indian museum. Ethan was totally interested and made everyone think he was an expert. We learn a lot about them because we are dependents of Indian gaming! The chief actually lead an Indian dance at the Miley Cyrus concert so we are really cultural around here. It went well and we even made a few friends. Well at least I did, Ethan knows them all from school. One of the big guys (I don't know all the positions yet) told us today that we could rent a limo and have happy hour just as long as we didn't contract it as cub scouts. Well this is my kind of scouting :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Monica ... Fear not!

I know that there the topic of who is and who is not a valid princess can cause a conundrum.

Therefore, to help avoid potential awkward moments, might you in Disney World, or on a cruise, find yourself face to face with such a person, I've made this handy print and cut out wallet reference card for you:

princess_pocket_guide.gif

Simply cut this out and carry it on your person at all times.

You will avoid many a potential socially fatal faux pas.

Hilarious :rotfl2:

Just don't plan on wearing it to Disney! :scared1:

.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

They have stations set up around the food section of the store and give out samples of the products they sell. It's kind of funny sometimes and you would think some people never eat except at costco. If its a good sample we've seen people push, and cut in line to get a "bite" of food.

I know exactly what you mean, it becomes a feeding frenzy.

Holly, after reading everything over the past few days, I can only say what I would do if I stood in your shoes.

That other job would make you a nervous wreck.

Your child is your first, only and forever job. He needs you more than any lawyer ever will. It is so very OK to tell the new job the truth and that it would not be in their best interest, yours and esp. Tyler's for you to not be available for him at his every need. He'll never be able to count on his dad the way he can count on you. A job that allows family first and isn't going to close their doors in this economy is a job that you need to be a part of. If they offer $1 over your current pay take and say "I will make this work for Tyler!"

Another thought for you is that you can start a part time ebay business and make the $2000K per year. I made $2500 in 3 months this summer selling junk out of my house while I worked and went to school. You can do anything when you put your mind to it. Make it happen. You never know, you may make enough to stay at home and be a full time at home mom with your own business. Give it some thought.

I did, and I usually don't pay attention to stuff like that. Unfortunately, it's all Greek to me. I listened, but just don't understand what it all really means. I just want to know how it will affect me, otherwise I don't understand. I've always been quite dense about financial things. Sure, I care that it seems like it will affect everybody, but I don't understand it at all or exactly what it means to everybody. :confused3

I could explain it, but I'd need charts and graphs!

I heard on the news last night that McCain has never wanted to do a debate.

McCain is a fair debator, not as good as Obama. But there is another theory that he is trying to delay the Palin debate. David Letterman really lit into him after he cancelled and went on another show. Unfortunately, the inside booking agents will not book him on other shows after that cancellation. It's a major mistake.

Well, I think that Jan summed it up, another time and age. My dad still tells me that if I believed I wouldn't get sick than I wouldn't and that I get sick because it's all in my head. Meanwhile I gave 5 viles of blood today to check my immune system at the cancer center. He'll never grasp that his child has a blood disorder because it reflects badly on him as a parent (in his mind) Your dad doesn't understand the brain and also probably has a bit of my dad in him. In my work I council parents all the time who can't stand the pain of watching their children in pain. They block out all reasoning consciously or unconsciously. You will find the right path for you to handle this pain. When your knees are better, your weight will be better and when it all comes together your head will feel better. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and if you keep looking it will shine a little bit brighter every day.

That's what I used to do. When I first moved to Lansing, the whole time I was pregnant (up until 8 months) and then until Tyler was about 2 years old. I only worked about 20 hours a week and had FULL insurance coverage for both of us for free. I barely paid a dime for my pregnancy and received short term disability (my full pay) when I was off at the end of my pregnancy and for 3 months after I had him. It was an awesome job! I worked at the airport marshalling in the airplanes, unloading and loading packages. I loved it! It was fun and great exercise. I worked 3am-7am Tues - Sat. I had a roommate at the time, so I just left Tyler sleeping and he always got up at 7am, so my roommate got up with him until I got home and then she'd go back to bed or get ready for work.

OMG, we paid about $7K for our pregnancy due to our stupid insurance.

OK so again I'm not a bragger but since everyone else does it :lmao:

Ya Know... except for those Holly & Monica people... I coulda done a whole page myself...

I would never be mad at you only Bubba ;) and really I could never be mad at him either but I like to razz him a bit!

Gaylean, you asked about the economy.

Yes, the cost of living has increased substantially. Our gasoline bill alone is up about $400+ per month. Food has increased in many categories at about 30% in the past year. Bread has doubled. Our insurance went up nearly $1000 for the year (for a $2400 deductible that covers nothing, no meds), electricity, gas, water, sewer, trash went up a substantial amount. Many credit cards are lowering their limits by more than 50% Mostly AmEX across the nation, but increasing their APR. This means that our ratios are changing the FICO scores which affect the APR we get per person, per card. The value of our homes has lowered so much that anyone who had a second on their house has gone into forclosure because they can't afford their payments esp. when the variable interest increased. So, their house payments went up so high that they could no longer make them. With all of the forclosures (there are currently 10 million homes in foreclosure and an additional huge percent are 4+ months in default) which means that each state is losing tax money making the economy crumble. Schools and companies who get government contracts are losing their funding because they depend on the tax revenue. A lot of what is going on right now is because the banks and financial firms borrowed so much against the real estate boom and then spent way too much money. OK, getting tired. I get dizzy thinking about it. We are moving into an immediate cash economy where we will be using cash for everything and credit cards will not be a part of world for a while. Hope that helps explain it a bit.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Well of course you knew that when I spoke of risky moves that may have benefited him I meant Palin even though that was the deal breaker for me. If I were to ever vote for a republican it may have been McCain but not after he picked Palin.
