No. They can't change the insurance plan for the whole firm (and it's just not possible to have a different plan for one person), but possibly increased pay to make up for having the big yearly deductible that the new place wouldn't have. I should know something by the end of today because they want me to be able to tell the new employer I changed my mind quickly if that ends up being the case.

Can you set up a kind of medical savings plan so that money stays put for medical expenses only? Seems like there is some sort of tax benefit to doing it that way. :confused3

Jan

.......Holly... I did that the night I was supposed to meet Michael in July... I tried what I thought was my SIL's hair mousse, it turned out to be some kind of hair cement... I could NOT for the life of me get it out of my hair... lesson learned... Never do it when you're going out on a date........

.....You know you better watch out.. you run into a wall with that stuff I'm not sure what will break off.. the hair or the wall...:lmao:

SO, how did your hair look for the July date? Did Michael laugh or like it?

Keep us posted on Barb  and Michael! :woohoo:

Me having to leave early to pick Tyler up from school yesterday created a big stir around the office. They're all worried about what will happen when I have to do this at the new job. They're afraid of me getting fired and being with a job, so negotiations started taking place yesterday to see if I can stay here and make all parties happy. The only person who will be upset is the new employer when I tell him I'm not joinging his staff (if that's what happens). It was foolish of me to consider leaving here when they NEVER have complained once about me having to miss work to remove Tyler from school and/or his doctor's appointments, and nobody has ever held it against me for when it's time to get a pay raise every year. Why would I throw that away for a place that's already told me they do NOT make such accommodations? Yesterday was just a wake up call I suppose.

If you want to know my opinion, I thought you were crazy for leaving BEFORE they offered you anything to stay. You need this type of job because of Tyler. If they offered me ANYTHING more I would take it. I know it seems like it would benefit everyone to make more money but you can't get fired because that would be worse. I know Jon's work has 120 day probation period and they fire people for just about anything so maybe you should at least look into that. Maybe others have offered their opinion as well. It is hard for me because I believe kids come before work and I know a lot of others don't have that same opinion. I just thought I'd mention it because you posted the above statement.

V - are you, John & the girls still coming up to WDW next month???

Let me know the dates & I may even be able to babysit a night for you so that you & John can go have some adult time. (this offer will also go to other families coming to WDW if I can swing it :goodvibes )

When should they be there :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Did not sleep well at all last night....kept trying to figure out what could be done to my house to allow my parents to have their own space while I have my own space. Picturing new door here, new space there....not sure if it would work. Think I'll go jump on Realtor.com and check out some things.

Need to talk to my sister about this - forgot to call her last night until it was about 1030pm. Can't call her tonight as the 2hr Grey's is on tonight, followed by new ER (which will be recorded). :happytv:

Need to talk to my parents too---but about Spain not this other stuff--not yet.

I know how you feel. Even though we are not quite in this position yet we are going to be in a bind for sure. Jon has two aunts that never had any kids plus we have both sets of parents and he has a brother that is married with a baby and he can't take care of himself either. We could build a house in the back for my parents or my mom but I could NEVER live with his mom. She is already losing her mind in my opinion and both of her parents had Alzheimer which is hereditary. I wonder what happens to them in the in between stage when they can't live in a home and they can't live on their own. We urged them to move into a senior condo type place at the beach but since every house on their street, except theirs and the neighbor's, burned down last year, they can't sell it. I'm not even close to this happening and I'm so stressed out about it. His parents are close to 70 but my parents are still in their 50's.

oh and tonight i totally did the old lady fall! I walked outside my back door to toss some trash and my lovely daughter left her skateboard right side up on the step. AND DoWn I went! I have some lovely scratches that will turn into even lovelier bruises, but at least I didn't break anything! Such a clutz!

I hope you tanned her hide for that one ;)

Hi Gaylean - my parents are both in their 70's, and my mother is already showing symptoms of Alzheimers (several people in her mother's generation in the family had it too). We've tried the retirement home type place too, but they don't want to do it....there is even something in Argentina that they could get put on a waitlist for at this point.

I don't necessarily WANT to live w/ my parents, but you have to do what you have to do.

I've been playing on home builder sites.....nothing like trying to customize a home to work for exactly I want it to.

Did anyone watch the presidents address? It was interesting, more of what we already know. It was about time he addressed it though. At least we know someone is paying attention!

What was interesting to me is that McCain is stopping his campaign and wants to postpone the debate. Another risky move on his part that might benefit him in the long run.

I heard on the news last night that McCain has never wanted to do a debate.

I could tolerate my parents but not Jon's family. The brother, wife and baby would have to come along with the package. My mom would be the type of person to call before she came up front, just to make sure we were ready for her to come up. Jon's parents live two hours away and don't call before they come :confused3 We had them here for around two months when they had the fires. Every night I cooked really nice meals for them. Well one night I made fettucini alfredo and I was afraid I didn't have enough for everyone so I asked them to stop at the store and buy some bread so I could make garlic bread and he told me no  They were already out and by a store. Then she asked me for my receipts so she could get the money back from FEMA for the groceries I bought. She ended up getting over $20,000 after all the food and "hotel" costs she claimed and we didn't get one dime. Our food bill went up drastically because there is five of them and our electric bill tripled because they stayed in a motor home that was plugged in. She claimed OUR electric bill and water bill to get more money  She sent my SIL down to the evacuation center to get diapers and formula. They ended up making out on this deal and they are taking away from people that need the supplies. I just know if I tried to live with this family that I would go crazy or leave and Jon hates them more than me so it would just never happen. I'm just worried his parents won't leave us enough money to take care of his brother because right now we couldn't afford it.

He doesn't want to debate. Obama is just a nice guy and experience or not, he can speak so people listen. What will be interesting is Palin and Biden debate. I bet more people watch that. After all, a lot of people think we are voting for vice-presidents and not presidents.

Hi everybody.:) Just got some internet time so thought I would catch up. Could Gaylean, _Bubba and Venetia refrain from night chats whilst I am away please!!!:lmao:

I've missed loads of quotes just to get through!! Some wonderful photos, thanks.

Good Morning

I feel like Screaming now :scared1: :scared1:

Few weeks ago Disneypilots from EB was looking for picture exchange of Don Williamsons signed with the WB Picture.

I offered him that I have two of it so I send it away with the roll box.

then he emailed and said that the roll box had been damaged by delivery.

The post box arrived here today. It has been folded over, and the print is folded and creased.

He will send it back to me, but it is no longer suitable for framing.

I am bit annoying with it now and never thought that they will folded over.

Trouble is I didn't insured it.

Feel very disappointed and he will send it back to me without his picture.:headache:

Deborah, sorry about that. I would be crying too.

Good Morning All!

For some reason I couldn't sleep. I woke up at 4:10 AM and was, well awake. Could not go back to sleep.

Hi Deb...

Yes... I did... Enough said...

(yeah sure Michelle... PM everybody details...)

Sorry ladies... can't do that right now...

Have to take mom back to the Drs...

We came down for what we thought was a regular check up, but Mom has been experiencing dizziness lately so they have scheduled a slew of tests over the next 2 days...

We hope that it all works out... Keep your fingers crossed... :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

All the best for your mop's tests Michelle.:grouphug:

So here's the bad news of today. Tyler was suspended AGAIN for the afternoon. And it's worse. The principal called me to tell me that this time, the in-school suspension isn't working because he kept running away, out of the office and down the halls, and he's too aggressive and she wanted him picked up so that nobody gets hurt and so no more property would get destroyed. :headache:

She told me he seems to be at the point of completely unraveling. She thinks he's just so angry and frustrated with all this stuff going on with him and he just doesn't know how to change it or how to deal with it all. She told me to just give him a break from learning for the rest of the day and take him someplace where he can unwind. He was horrified when he saw me arrive at the school. He told me "you're going to kill me". The worst part for him was that he had to miss out on a special reward for the whole class this afternoon. His teacher has what she calls a "gem jar" on her desk. Every time the class does what she asks or does things the right way or anything good, she drops a "gem" in the jar and told them when it was full they'd get a class surprise. They filled it recently and today was the day for the reward. She was bringing popsicles for the whole class. :sad1:

Anyway, I'm about at the end of my rope and about to break down myself. I told our office manager I had to leave and told her why, apologizing majorly. She told me "You know you never have to apologize when you have to leave for Tyler" and she asked what's going to happen when this happens at the new job. That's too scary to think about.

Holly, loads of:hug: for you. This is hard.

Looks like Ian has been sunbathing in socks!!!;) Great photos by the way.:thumbsup2

Well, the keyboard is a bit different from ours at home, and some of the characters are rubbed off so it has taken a little longer to post and there will be mistakes!!! Sorry.

Having a great lazy time. Been swimming and pottering around.
