YAY FOR BROOKE!
:yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:
I didn't know schools have awards like this. Cool! I don't think my school had those when I was a kid, and I don't think Tyler's school has those.

I know some places frown on them but I'm happy with it just as long as he gets some sort of award for the year.

And why are you down today Gaylean?

I'm not sure. Just one of those days. Nothing like what I'm sure you are feeling. I guess I just feel like I should be happier because of Brooke. Plus we are going through what most Americans are right now with our finances. It doesn't feel good to have to be tight when you are use to having some of the finer things in life :sad1:

 I think I'm lucky because things have always been tight for me (except when I worked for the postal service, then I was rolling in the dough). Since I'm used to living frugally, there's no change for me, fortunately. :thumbsup2 I just feel bad for my mom though. She's always been a big traveller, goes somewhere every month or 2, but now she has to retire the end of October and has watched most of her investment accounts dwindle away, and she's very freaked out wondering what will happen to her. But her house has been paid off for about 20 years, and her car is paid off, so she won't have major expenses, so I think she'll be fine, she just doesn't realize that yet. She will probably have to cut way back on travel, but probably not forever.

Where the heck is everybody? I was hoping for some entertaining chatter to read to take my mind off crap and have a few laughs.

Did anyone watch the presidents address? It was interesting, more of what we already know. It was about time he addressed it though. At least we know someone is paying attention!

oh and tonight i totally did the old lady fall! I walked outside my back door to toss some trash and my lovely daughter left her skateboard right side up on the step. AND DoWn I went! I have some lovely scratches that will turn into even lovelier bruises, but at least I didn't break anything! Such a clutz!

Yeah, um, I'm almost 40, so if I stay up all night, I'll fall asleep driving to work for sure! I almost fell asleep driving to pick Tyler up after school today. Last time I stayed up all night, I'm pretty sure I was in my 20s. TOO long ago for me to remember! :rotfl2:

GOODNIGHT! Happy chatting! :yay:

So... being 44... does that mean I'm half DEAD?????????????????:scared1:

Are you guys coming to dinner? There's always enough for everyone.

What should I bring??? Oh yeah... tater cakes and gravy... :thumbsup2

Yesterday was a bit of a stressfull day - my sister had a long chat w/ me Monday night about our parents....their financial & health picture, and what we can come up w/ for their future. She said that Dad may end up not doing anything about the prostate cancer (for better quality of live), and Mom is going down hill (based on observations she & David made when they were in Argentina this summer) both mentally & physically. I told her that I will give her my thoughts after I see them in November (45 days before I leave).

So - she said that she & David have been talking about adding an addition (like an in-law suite with kitchenette) to their house. Also was talking about a retirement center (with more options like assisted living if they need it later on).....

I need to remind her that the house next door to me is still for sale :rotfl2:

The hard thing about thinking about this is that my parents have a life down in Buenos Aires - they have friends, family & things to do. They also don't have to drive cuz there is a great transportation system there.

Ok - babble over for now..:flower3:

Ya know Monica... I'm facing the same. We live in a townhouse with 2 floors... mom fell in love with it and bought it. We really didn't think it through about the 2 floors and now I see my Aunt & Uncle and they are in their 80s and can hardly move. I think I will have to go house hunting eventually to see if I can find a nice ranch house for us to live in...

Bonjour from Paris. Yesterday we went to Disneyland Paris, and got annual passes so we will go back once or twice next week.

Woody

Bon Jour Woody!!!! Did you get my T-shirt and shot glass from every destination????

Hi Michelle

How are you? and hope your mum is keeping well.

Now I am off to bed

Goodnight

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Hi Deb... we are hanging in... once the tests are over we will head home on Friday. It's nice to visit some family and friends... but I want to sleep in my own bed... Just wish I wasn't alone :rolleyes1

Introducing Spike:

Actually, looking at this picture, he looks like he just rolled out of bed with a bad hair day. :rotfl2: But he thinks it's cool and so do the kids at school.

Hey look... he's taller!!! :lmao:

Did anyone watch the presidents address? It was interesting, more of what we already know. It was about time he addressed it though. At least we know someone is paying attention!

Glad he is because most of us are so broke we cant even pay attention!!!:sad2:

Good Morning

I feel like Screaming now :scared1: :scared1:

Few weeks ago Disneypilots from EB was looking for picture exchange of Don Williamsons signed with the WB Picture.

I offered him that I have two of it so I send it away with the roll box.

then he emailed and said that the roll box had been damaged by delivery.

The post box arrived here today. It has been folded over, and the print is folded and creased.

He will send it back to me, but it is no longer suitable for framing.

I am bit annoying with it now and never thought that they will folded over.

Trouble is I didn't insured it.

Feel very disappointed and he will send it back to me without his picture.:headache:

Scottishwee35

Oh Deborah this is terrible. How did it get ruined in the post? Will the post take any responsibility for the damage. I would think so even without insurance.

It's weird cause even people I thought were solid are experiencing the hit of our economy..it makes me wonder if I should be planning my next vacation or just sit back and wait

although..maybe disney will recognize our economy and price summer 2010 to accomodate it???? A dream is a wish your heart makes...right?

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
Only problem with this is that you guys have to fly w/ me - so you'd have to get yourselves over to Orlando on your own dime. I will entertain ideas :goodvibes

now, watch it. We all like WDW and may just be at your door some day :rotfl2:

WOW - that's a lot of mula. What does he have to sell?

popcorn, good stuff in tins. it's not cheap but it tastes so good.

Thanks, I'd still love to have the Castaway photo.

Do you mean the group picture taken in the atrium with Capt. Mickey?

oh no but it was a lovely photo and I remember we rush after theatre and we realised that we missed it.

not that one, remember you take thepicture of us in the lobby and I took your camera and take the picture of you too.

I feel like that sometime. Tomorrow you will be fine:flower3:

Nan

I remember that you were mentioned about swap wife and Ithought yes good idea as I would love to see what your country. But I don't think Molly andWilson put up with me:rotfl: Would it be nice for me to go out with Paul and the kids in the :car: lol

I don't think my husband would be happy :rotfl:

You would be surprise to see how small inScotland, just drive less than half hour. I think your country might be 3 times bigger than my area.:)

Oh well I better go back to bed and wake up at 4.30 am, sore leg?:confused3

and so begins this phase of your life. I'm so with ya. It is very hard. We tried to get my parents to move back here when they could and dad would not. He wanted to die at the Lake. He did what he wanted, and then left me to clean up and take care of mom. He knew I would. It has been so hard to have to make parental decissions for my mom. This week we have made the rounds of doctors. Tomorrow will be the last. 3 doctors 3 days, each day ends up being 4 hours of labor of love. Good luck and please share your thougths with us. We are here to lean on

Bonjour from Paris. Yesterday we went to Disneyland Paris, and got annual passes so we will go back once or twice next week.

Woody

Bonsoir. Glad you are still having a good old Disney time of it :goodvibes

Wow! That's a really nice benefit! I had no idea.

yes I'm not counting pennies, but I'm glad he is getting something to start on his own :thumbsup2

Nan, have you ever gotten the caramel corn in Downtown Disney, just down from the Monorail station? It's sold from an outdoor wagon--yummy!!

I've smelled it every time and get sick from the sweetness smell. Does it really taste good? Seems like some weird sugar in there????

Thanks Deborah. I'm just worried about this happening at my new job. I won't be able to just leave work, they've already made it clear that they're such a small office, they count on everybody being there all the time. :scared: I had stopped looking for jobs just for this reason, but I thought I wouldn't be called any more to leave work to pick him up. I thought since they were doing in-school suspension, they'd keep doing that, especially since I thought things would keep improving for him. Now I don't know what to think or do anymore.

Sounds like for now Dad is going to have to step it up and help out if Tyler has problems, even if it's your day with him. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Remember they have a house of 2 adults, maybe they "can" step up and add a little more help in this regard????:confused3

& I'm # 32.. right after PLANKY :thumbsup2 !!!

So... Will's goin to Harvard on the Boy Scouts?? How nice of them... ;)

I'm liking him for MIT, he says Stanford, but worse case Harvard here we come :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Remember that Paul wants to visit you at your home. I think I told you about his "friend" (I've always thought it was more than that) that lives in Edinburg. I was not spending my honeymoon meeting some other girl from his past:scared1: Maybe you come here I send Paul there and we send all the kids to Cheri, or Monica, or Michelle????

Hope you are back in bed resting now.

Tonight was another school event for us at Wilson's school. Seems today is The Real Mexican Independence Day and that was what we celebrated. In the past you've seen our cinco de mayo pictures, there will be no more :sad2:

Wilson did a great dance with the same girl he danced with in Kinder (I think he likes her :lovestruc )

I took video, I'll try to upload it to youtube or photobucket. The dance was really cute.

Off now, we are leaving for Reno at noon, yes another race :car:

I might bring my laptop, not sure yet. If I don't have a good weekend and I'll catch ya when I get back.
