I haven't watched fringe, but I like the Mentalist..thats a good new show. I've been watching all of my old shows that are on again. House, bones, hero's all the csi's, crime shows etc. Lots and Lots...and I am loving Saturday Night Live right now...tina fey as Sarah Palin is freaking hysterical!

We really like Fringe :happytv:

Good morning. Quick pop in today.

Deb, so glad you're getting a much deserved relaxing vacation :thumbsup2
You talking about the Tink T-shirt made me think about the "we're in the lifeboat" T-shirts you sent some of us , I'm thinking of wearing mine to the lifeboat drill on our Tortola cruise  :lmao:

Kathe

Oh yes, what a great idea. I'm game!!:lmao:

OK, here's the detailed version of what happened today. It's very scary.

One boy in class said something that made him mad, so Tyler pushed him and then ran into the bathroom. The teacher thinks he might have ran to hide in the bathroom to keep himself from losing control more, but we don't know. He wouldn't come out, so the art teacher came in to try to get him out. He opened the door and grabbed her arm and bit her. She went to get the social worker/psychologist for help. She tried to talk to him but he was enraged and sputtering nonsense words.

She sat outside the door waiting for him to come out but before she could react, he flung the door open, ran past her into the classroom, jumped on another kid and slammed the kid's head into the desk, then it took 2 adults to try to restrain him (the social worker/psychologist and the principal). They had to carry him, kicking and screaming and thrashing to the office where they both had to physically restrain him until he calmed down because he grabbed scissors off the principal's desk and tried to stab the school social worker/psychologist telling her he was going to kill her and that she was chosen to die.

They were afraid of me being alone with him today because they've never seen him like that and were really scared. They said his voice changed into a gutteral tone and his eyes were glazed over like he wasn't even in there. I jokingly told them it sounds like I need to call an exorcist (I told them I have to joke or I'll cry from frustration).

So he's doing schoolwork and cleaning here at home. NO fun stuff for him at all.

Still waiting to hear from the psychiatrist's office, but probably won't get a call back until tomorrow because he's not in the office on Wednesdays.

I already talked to his dad and he's just as shocked as I am.

Oh Holly, you must be so worried. Keep on at the docs till you get some help. Loads of love, and prayers.

Well, you know how us old people want to get in for the Sr. citizen special... ;)

Monica,
I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but reading about how you are overcoming depression is an eye-opener. My aunt appears to struggle with depression, and suffers greatly, but won't take action. I'm in a different town, so there is little I can do, other than call her and leave messages. I used to get so frustrated because she does not respond, but I'm starting to understand how difficult it is for her. So I'll continue to leave messages and reach out. So thank for for sharing your struggles and successes :hippie:

Shannon - nothing wrong at all in what you said :goodvibes . I'm glad if my issues & struggles help anyone. I really believe that for the older generations (not ours) anything like depression was considered a flaw & it was taboo to talk about it. I'm sure there are a lot of people who also don't really know they're depressed. There have been so many more advances in the health industry in the last few decades so our generation sort of has it easy in comparison to theirs. We are freer to talk about things and we are more aware of the issues out there with more options for treatment.

Please continue with what you're doing with your aunt. I can tell you that I appreciated every thought/comment/prayer that came from you dear people even if I wasn't responding.....as I told Deb & John last night - you guys were my lifeline for a while - even tho I wasn't posting, I was reading. It'll show your aunt that she is not alone, even if she feels she is.  to you & your aunt.

Feel free to ask me any ?s too -- I'm not shy about talking about this (if you hadn't already figured it out :lmao: ).

Good, I'll talk with my sister next week (she is off in Mexico today) I'm sure you will blend right into the hoard of us. I think we are up to 17 people now :scared1:

I think dinner is early at 4pm???? She has the details, I'll double check that next week too ! Xmas Day 12/25. I keep forgetting to answer all of the questions at once, hope you got all the info between my edits...

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I know what it's like because I've been going through it since I was a teenager. It runs in the family and we actually lost one of my cousins to an accidental overdose because he was just trying to kill the pain. He ended up killing himself.

It's tough.:grouphug:

Self medicating is a very common thing--does dull the pain at that moment but not in the long run.

Had a wonderful dinner w/ John & Deb last night at Mimi's.

I have the Mediteranian Chicken Fettucini (or something like that). Pasta w/ artichoke hearts w/ a tomato asiago cheese sauce. YUMMY. It's supposed to come w/ sundried tomatoes but I didn't get those. I have some left over for lunch - plus some of the brown bread (WHICH I LOVE!)

Here's hoping for safe travels to those driving today.

Can't wait to see the pics--can't see them here at work, and didn't get on last night....will have to do it tonight.

Talking to myself again :lmao: Don't worry tho--don't plan to do the whole page thing today :rotfl:

A quick good morning to everybody ( or evening/afternoon/whatever it is your time zone!)

I remembered a couple things I forgot to comment on last night:

Monica - I like the red-brown colour you ended up with!

Marilyn - It sounds like you're having great vacation!

Nan - Are you still looking at going back to school in January?

Now, I must get to work. :sad2:

How are you Holly? How was the rest of your day with Tyler? Remember that he doesn't want to do these things. It's out of his control. All you can do at this point is love him and support him and tell the doctors everything. This is not new to them. They will know what to do next. You will have these incidences in the beginning while you test the waters until you find the right combination and doseage of meds. You will get there. Hang on. Know that you're not alone in this. We love you and we love Tyler. And it IS going to be okay......soon. Hugs to you both.

Oh, he's fine at home. These things only happen at school (or day care when he was in day care). He kept asking me to play but I had to keep reminding him that he wasn't home for a fun day with mom, and he had to do schoolwork and work on cleaning his room.

I didn't feel up to posting yesterday and just hung out on the couch with my ice cream.

No, he's at his dad's until Saturday, so his dad probably had to take him to work with him.

Thanks for everbody's hugs and prayers, I just wasn't up to responding. Didn't mean to be rude, just not myself. Will get lots of sleep this weekend and Monday will be the start of a brand new school week with hopes of better days.
