Thanks Kathe... and Woody...

They just called back to tell us he's out of surgery and they are taking him to ICU... :worried:

Hi all,
There are way too many pages to go back and look, but is anybody from "our" W.B. Panama Canal going on the W.B. Transatlantic cruise?

We are and can't wait!

Thanks!
Scilla and David

ME! I've booked a cat 7 'secret' Navigator verandah. This cruise is still in the maybe catagory though, as I have a Baltic reservation too. Just waiting to see how the $ plays out and the Baltic just might end up being too pricy.

Ok everybody...

Prayers Please...

Even though we don't get along very well (you may remember the last time he was in the hospital...) My father had to go in today to have his bladder removed due to the cancer.

There have been complications and he is STILL in surgery after 11 hours.

My sister just called... still waiting for news...

Thinking of you Michelle  Prayers for you all

On the advice of one of our rather good friends from California (who just happens to be a cuddle bunny with fangs) I called the travel agent to inquire how much DCL would charge for airfare.

I found out that they will only book Chicago-Orlando-Barcelona-Chicago, but the fare quoted was really, quite, quite, quite, quite, quite good, so I booked it. Quite.

I was actually a bit surprised. When one books the air with Disney, is the fare locked in? Airlines only book 300 days out from travel, so I'm surprised that DCL would lock in a fare. Unless of course they have negotiated bulk fares.

(PS- the bulk of my years of career was in the airline industry in travel agency automation)

Yes, I think DCL does lock in some rates for a set number of seats...and they do get all booked up. So it's a good idea to book with them NOW and you can always canx later with no penalty (up to 75 days I think). I've got the # to call this weekend and see about getting to Barcalona with them.

. We pale incomparision to the WB group they are lost in the wind again ....

Yeah, I think I'll wait a year before even posting over there again. I might PM a mess of my friends from my 11/6 cruise and some others who are going and just have a little chat thread going over on the community board maybe. :confused3 Several of these folks I know were on the EB Panama and never posted (much) on that thread either. Plus...I've done the pirate theme with the best batch of Thieves out there. :grouphug:

Sorry :sad1: I've planned to be gone for MIL & FIL anniversary this year, just to avoid it. Bad DIL I know :rolleyes1

I've always wanted to go away for Christmas because it is THE only holiday that my in-laws don't go away ;) but then I'd miss my family :lmao:

I have made good friends with a mom that has a 5th grade (girl) and a 3rd grade (boy) close to my kids....we swap them for vacation time mid week. It works out pretty well. These are the kids I had a week or so ago, mom and dad went to Hawaii. Paul and I have our anniversary night off as the kids will be with them. Does your sister ever offer to sit the kids for you? I know you have her son sometimes ::yes::

That sounds like a great situation. I haven't found anything like that yet. I really don't have a great support system when it comes to the kids so I really should look for something like that.

Oh, a teenager.....yea, she's a little young for that.

I remember babysitting my aunt's kids for a weekend when I was 16. I did it with a friend of mine. My aunt had four kids under 2 years old......a single birth, a twin birth and one died, another set of twins and both lived.....it was NUTS! My friend and I were exhausted afterwards and slept the rest of our Sunday away when we got home. But that was family for me.

My sister has a 25 year old and a 19 year old so I use to do the same thing. I think I watched my niece over night for the first time when she was a little under one. I was 14. I think it is different though because I was around them a lot and they knew me very well. I think they preferred me over their mom ;)

Oh, I so agree. Everything I order for me online tends to be tink or crush or mickey. I have some Disney Art at home that I LOVE.

I don't do designer anything. Yes, I agree that most of it looks like it should be a lot less money than what it costs. I do however love jewelry. But I wear the same things everyday so no need for new stuff. I do love the wine tasting trip and buying anything you want. YEAH! Now that's a good present.:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Speaking of that, I need to go soon because my wine rack is getting empty  There is only good stuff that I'm not aloud to open unless it is a special occasion.

Oh, I cringe when I see or hear of people eating that stuff! The amount of sodium. :scared: Major health problems waiting to happen from that stuff. :sad2:

Something most teenagers are not thinking about. I think Jon lived on it when we first moved out.

Thanks G... we've been close all along... I always said I didn't give birth to any of them, but they were mine just the same... :grouphug:

I felt the same way.....until I had my own. The nieces and nephews were a lot easier, a lot more fun and a lot less painful.
