Oh, I forgot to finish that thought.....I had originally planned on leaving at 2, but I'm not yet as far as I thought I'd be with getting this work done. My goal was to completely finish the work I was behind on for when the vacationing secretary comes back on Monday. I just feel she shouldn't have to do my stuff that I couldn't get done. I think I'll be done at 3. Will shop for clothes later in the week when Tyler again goes to his dad's, and will still have time to mow the front yard today I think. :thumbsup2

How nice of you to want to get it all cleaned up for the returning person, even if it means juggling your personal stuff. At least it'll be a good paycheck!

The only thing that won't be done is the filing. That will take a whole day, but I think I'll have a little time to start that before I leave at 3. :thumbsup2

Well whatever you don't get filed today, you can do on Monday I'm sure.

btw, does the new job offer tuition reimbursement?

Well it isn't long at all till you set off Deb!!! I'm worried I will forget to say goodbye as we go on Tuesday early, so I'm going to say now.

Have a great trip!!

OK Marilyn, then let me say goodbye too, just in case I forget too.

RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR VACATION, MARILYN AND JOHN

Of the 32 NFL mascots, Sarah Palin has shot nine of them!!!:rotfl2:

Hilarious! :rotfl:

Oh, I do agree, we can't generalise! I bet you were a fantastic teacher. I think you would have been very parient and kind too.

 You just described me to a "T"! :rotfl2:

On a side note, what I find extremely funny is when a woman tries flirting with me to get her way. I'm not sure they know they're doing it, or perhaps they are. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

It is just so amusing. I haven't the heart to tell them that it's a complete waste of time.

Sometimes we women just automatically go into "coquette" mode...probably a throw-back to ancient times!:cutie:

I can't wait until we hit somewhere around South Carolina or Georgia and the sun is about to come up and the top on the car goes down. It's a great feeling.....leaving the Northern states and getting to the Southern ones.....feeling the temperature change.

How fun to drive down in a convertable! I really miss having a moon roof--it wasn't an option on the hybrid. I used it a lot!

No, I have DSL with AT&T. Ironically, my DSL was fine until I "upgraded."

I've just gotten tired of the DSL going out completely and the same insane conversation with AT&T everytime it goes out. One of these frustrating conversations, for the 100th time about phone filters, I told them that an AT&T person was in the alley doing work and perhaps it might have more to do with something getting screwed up than my phone filters.

We had no DSL for 8 hours that day, and then it came back.

The miraculous thing is that it came back without my ever touching a phone filter.

I'm switching in the dire hope that I might have more reliable service.

DSL was never an option for me--something about the phone lines where I live not being good enough for it. I went from dial-up to cable several years ago and I've been really happy with it. It rarely goes out, maybe once every few months and then usually just a short time.

Ok, I challenge you all now!!!( I have beaten David!!!)

Oh why did you have to post this?????? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I finally had to force myself to close the window. I did get in a couple of decent kicks, but I have no idea how I did it. Most of them were less than 300 meters.:headache:

Well good morning to everyone 2 feet or 4/

We are packing up to go to...wait for it....of course....a race.

This is the night race tonight that is a make up for the race that was rained out for Willie's bday. Then tomorrow is a regularly scheduled race, so it is a long race weekend. I hope things get better for Paul, he is having a hard time with getting things to work well for this race. It took him 2 hours to get Wil's engine mounted (should take 15 minutes) and then it wouldn't start, he finally got it to start after changing the carb out (again) that was last night, this morning the electrical isn't working in the trailer, either the solor panel is not working or it was left on and drained, so now he is trying to charge it with an electrical connection. He uses the electrical for his air compressor at the track to inflat tires (& more) I hope this isn't the way of this weekend or it will be sad at our pit for sure.

we leave in 1/2 hour so I need to shower and pack up.

Love ya all, talk to you Sunday night.

thanks for the good luck, I'll tell Willie :thumbsup2 and Holly my cold is gone. It sure took a long time more than 2 weeks, darn thing. i think it helped going to Disneyland :goodvibes :lmao: :lmao:

Good luck to Wilson and I can't think of anything that wouldn't be made better by a trip to Disneyland!:woohoo: :woohoo:

No, no law firms do. At least here in Michigan. Nobody can afford to pay an employee's $100,000.00 tuition, unfortunately. :scared1:

That's really a shame.....especially that it costs so much.

Have a great afternoon Holly, it's almost time for you to leave.

I'm getting hungry so I just put in Burbon chicken with mixed veggies and broccoli flurettes. It's cooking in the microwave and it smells delicious.

Jackie, have you had a chance to look at your food yet?

I'm all done now! :yay: She's completely caught up now, except for whatever piles her Energizer Bunny lawyer drops on her desk on Sunday. But she won't be having to catch up on MY stuff. :goodvibes And I'll try to help her with the filing on Monday if possible.

Well, I'm out. Lots of stuff to do before Tyler comes home. I can't wait to hear how his day went yesterday! Back later! Have a great day everybody!

Good Morning Mammalian Bipeds!

(I'm trying a new level of specificity to make Marilyn feel better, while walking the delicate tightrope of inclusiveness)

(I actually slept until 6:45 this morning)

Hi Ian!!! Have a sleep in as Marilyn says???

No it isn't. It's building material. It's made out of recycled 2-liter pop bottles.

& #2 orange food coloring... :scared:

Something interesting about what you said ... my boss has said that she never has much luck with women working for her, she gets along better with men. I've worked with her for 8 years at 2 different companies, I have to agree with her. I've seen the women who reported to her. At our last company 2 of them were nearly lunatics.

At this company, there are 4 of us that report to her, 2 men and 2 women. One of the women is so moody that it's unnerving. I've written about her in the past. I managed to stay angry at her for 2 weeks because she pissed me off. That's a record for me, because I can't sustain being angry for more than 10 minutes. When I tried to work everything out, she made it even worse. The guy I work with (Shalisa's husband) and I get along fine, and the other woman, is just great and more like one of the guys.

So, I'm not sure what it is.

On a side note, what I find extremely funny is when a woman tries flirting with me to get her way. I'm not sure they know they're doing it, or perhaps they are. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

Hormones... just take it at that...

Good Morning Marilyn, Good Morning Ian AND NAN TOO!

That's how I do it!

I'm just sitting here waiting for John to get up so that we can have coffee together and chat before starting our day.

The leg is much better today. John cleaned it with the iodine scrub last night and then wrapped it good. It's fine now. John is my hero!

Today's agenda is: PACK!!!!!

It has to be ready to go in the car on Wednesday. I have to take it out of the suitcase from the PC trip......it still has Donald Duck on the tag.......guess I gotta take that off.......then sort through what I'm bringing this time and not, then do laundry then repack it. It makes it easier not to unpack after the last trip because it's all in one place already......just needs to be sorted and cleaned.....then voila......ready for repack and go.

I need to get all that finished so that I can start on my tote bag. Fortunately there is no flying involved so I don't have to worry about weight and containers getting thrown out. John however did say that we're driving down in a convertible so there's no trunk space so keep it limited. Ya know, it's always something.

I can't wait until we hit somewhere around South Carolina or Georgia and the sun is about to come up and the top on the car goes down. It's a great feeling.....leaving the Northern states and getting to the Southern ones.....feeling the temperature change.

Knowing my husband, we probably won't take a hotel room on the drive down. He'll be too excited and will want to drive the whole way. We will stop at one on the way home, more than likely.

I'm anxious to get started and go!

Deb... about John... we :worship: :worship: :worship: him too!!!

& about getting a hotel on the way down... flirt girl!!!! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Ok... Marilyn will be gone next week... so will Deb... Monica's gone until at least Tuesday and I'm running away to Jersey from Monday to Wednesday...

Boy it's gonna be a dry week here on the Dis...

Guys... Ian... Bubba... we're leaving it up to you to tame the wild ones... ;)

Exactly! That's why I just don't like the idea of women in power positions. It's just the way I am. I don't like working for women either. We're just so emotionally unpredictable.

Ouch Holly....I am sorry to hear any woman say that. I think that although we do have hormonal fluctuations, we are in control of our actions.

Oh... so much for my hiring all the women here...

Too many hormones...

& that's just ME!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry. I think it's just a quirk of my personality or something, I've just always felt that way.

Bye Holly.....hugs to you and Tyler!
Bye and hello again Deb! :goodvibes I wasn't gone long. Came home, threw a load of laundry in the wash so Tyler can have pajamas to wear tonight, mowed the front yard, had to speed mow because since we're having a HOT day today the bees came back to visit. Mowed really fast, dodging bees. Must have been funny for my neighbors to see me RUNNING while pushing the mower! :rotfl2: I've become the OTHER crazy neighbor who provides entertainment for the rest. ;) Off to hop in the shower and see if I can get to the grocery store and back before Tyler gets here. :thumbsup2
