How about a wheelchair?
Honestly--
Since you are driving, you can rent it at home. You can get one with an elevating leg rest. The rental place can be sure you have the right size of leg support and that the calf-rests and foot plates are in the right place for you. Then when you are sitting and John is pushing, your leg is UP!!
When you are just sitting and people-watching, your leg is UP and you don't have to sit sideways on a bench.
If you want to walk, you can push it. And then you will have something to hold on to so you are taking some of the stress off the leg then too.

Well, think about it anyway
I rented one when I took my Mother for her one and only WDW trip to see the Flower and Garden show at EPCOT (she and Dad were convinced they would not like WDW

even though both had enjoyed DL years earlier).
It was not very expensive and I sure had WDW castmembers helping me all over the place--holding doors and carrying trays. Felt like I was with the Queen Mum.
