I haven't gotten back to boot camp, but I really should, maybe on Friday. BUt I'm sticking pretty well to the diet, no soda or crap food, just meals. so far so good and yes I'm still very crabby:mad:

Good for you Nan! I'd be worse than crabby!

YAY Holly!! I hope the office manager's head spun around when you told her you were quitting :) I'm sure Tyler will be fine for a couple of extra hours in the after-school program, and I hope the new environment is much better for you. I've worked in a couple of law firms with TERRIBLE environments, so I know the stress and annoyance it can cause.

Hey Deb :) You sound so excited for your upcoming trip. I can't believe we have to wait another 7 months before ours, but I keep telling myself to be patient! Olivia is really excited about getting a baby brother, though it was tough to convince her it was a boy after we found out his gender. Now she's completely protective of Baby Salvatore. She took a bunch of her old toys and put them in a bin for him and anytime we're in a store with baby things she asks if we can get things for Baby Salvatore. It's cute. At the same time, she's become REALLY clingy with me, because I think she suspects what's coming once the new baby arrives. My due date is 1-1-09 (new years baby), but the doctor is saying he'll probably come a couple of weeks early, since Olivia was three weeks early.
I'm glad you're feeling better. I went through a depression period earlier this year, and it was tough. *hugs*

Since you asked about pictures, I'll share one of Olivia from earlier this week. She's grown so much!

Oh, she is such a cutie.

:love:That means she loves you!

We had a big outdoor/indoor Tom and he used to put dead birds on the porch for us! Lovely! BUT, he was a great hunter! Kept all the ground squirrels out of our yard......everyone else complained about how they ground squirrels ruined their lawns, but ours was fine! AND of course, no field mice in the fall either

Ella is not an outdoor cat. She found it somewhere in the house. We have to put stuff down twice a year to keep them away......guess it's time to do it again.

Thanks. I feel worse today so I have a feeling it is almost over. Brooke couldn't talk this morning so we'll see how school goes. Jon has symptoms but can't seem to get the full blown sickness so he is worried that he'll be sick on Saturday. We are going to see Miley Cyrus in concert.

Sorry everyone is still miserable. I hope it's gone by Saturday so that you don't ruin your concert. Sounds like lots of fun, have a blast.

What a good job you're doing. Go back to boot camp when you feel ready for it. In the meantime keep up the great work with the food!!! We're proud of you being able to stick to it!

I still contend that some of these athletic types would love that adventure. I would love the Iditarod. I've been dog sledding 3 times and LOVED IT! Of course this would be way tougher, and I'm no where in the shape to do it or enjoy it. But that said there is a whole world of people out there that do love high risk adventure sports, I tend to think that SS agents would be in that group, just by the nature of their job. But we'll find out, if McCain win right :confused3

You're probably right.....I really had not thought of it. I guess I don't consider extreme sports as something that I would want to do. I prefer Disney. But you're absolutely right that there are more and more people interested in high adventure.

I can't believe you have been dog sledding and loved it. Nan, you never cease to amaze me. You are living quite the fully enriched life.....you GO girl!

Oh, one more thing before I fall asleep. Tomorrow WILL be a better day because I get to GIVE MY NOTICE! I got a new job as a legal assistant and they want me to start no later than Oct. 1. I'm HORRIBLY nervous because I've only had one office job ever, the one where I've currently been for almost 4 years. So I'm horrified at leaving that comfort zone where I know how to do everything. I'm terrified of the extra duties I'll have at the new job that I've never done, like keeping the attorney's calendar for him. BUT.....no environment can be as bad as the one I'm leaving, so I suppose I'll be fine. And even if I hate the new job and screw it up so badly they don't want to keep me, the old job will take me back immediately because they always, always, always try to ask former employees to come back. In fact, about 2 years ago I got a job somewhere else making $2/hour more, and my current employer offered me more to STAY. I accepted because I was afraid of leaving that comfort zone. This time if they offer, I won't stay because I'm just burned out and need change.

AND....I'll have vacations! Sure, I was just given that perk where I am now, but I can't use until a year has passed. The insurance is better where I'm going because the plan at my current employer has a $2500 deductible per year (and they haven't started it for me yet anyway). The current job was going to give me one week vacation starting next year, but the new job is giving me 12 days for years 1-3, 15 days for years 4 & 5, and 21 days for 6 years and beyond. Only 50cents/hour more to start, but another $1/hour added to that after 90 days, so that will be $1.50/hour more total.

CONGRATULATIONS HOLLY!:thumbsup2  :yay: :woohoo: :cool1: :goodvibes

She's going to be a really big help when Salvatore gets here!

What a great due date. Hey, if he gets here early you can write off the whole year right?

I'm glad you're feeling better. I went through a depression period earlier this year, and it was tough. *hugs*

I hope you're doing better now too then.

Since you asked about pictures, I'll share one of Olivia from earlier this week. She's grown so much!

OMG she has gotten so big.....and she is such a cutie!!!! She's really adorable!!!

You don't know until you try. You have no idea how many people tell me it's gross and then likes it.

I never put cheese in mashed potatoes, but I will try doing it with cheese and garlic one time ::yes:: I loved double-stuffed potatoes when we eat out, and they're just baked potatoes with the insides scooped out, mashed with creamcheese, garlic, chives, and then put back in the skin and baked a bit more.

Great idea Gaylean, so I'm going to steal it and try it :thumbsup2

Now I've got to get back to work and I'm not even caught up yet. Oh well, I should be able to get on again later.

Good morning!!

Only 5 days till our hols!!!:yay:

Good Morning Universe

(Nan, was that inclusive enough?)

Thanks Ian.. I feel so included now!!! :goodvibes

Here's a kitty story for you Jill, I woke up this morning to Ella (cat) acting all kinds of happy and very excited. She brought me a present......a dead baby mouse!!!! EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

But she loves you... :lovestruc

Hi Nan.....how's the diet and boot camp going? Are you sticking with it? Are you still crabby? It's so doggone hard isn't it?

I've been craving an ice cream sunday for a couple of weeks now, but I'm waiting until I'm on vacation in FL before I get one. I figured that I'll be off the diet then anyway, so why ruin it now. I plan what and when and where I'm going to cheat. Then I wait for it and it's so much more enjoyable and satisfying. Then I'm cured for a while. It works for me.:lmao:

May I suggest Ghiardelli??? Or Beaches and Cream??? If you're gonna dive in... then you at least need to make it worth it!!!

John took the day off and is home today. He says he didn't sleep at all last night and that he wouldn't be able to do the drive there and back without sleep.

We just shared coffee together and now he went to bed.

I think he just needed a mental health day. I think he's anticipating being in Mickey's World again soon.

Michelle, you're right......it's just like that commercial on TV.....I can't sleep, I'm too excited!

Ok... so why can't I sleep???? :upsidedow

Jan and Michelle, both of you.....thank you so much for all your concern, I promise not to take any steroids while on vacation. I will be tempted because I know how good they make me feel. But I won't do it because of the consequences afterwards.

I will just have to take it easy when I need to.....I just hope it's not all day, every day!

Deb.. just remember...it's a vacation... relax and have fun!!! Take pics and let John spoil you as much as you will spoil him!!!

Catch up post before heading back to read 10+ pages.

Nan - I need to see you too....so we will make it happen. :goodvibes

Met up w/ Gydell, Connie & Gydell's friend last night for the Hoop-de-doo Review. Carolyn & my 1st time.....cheesy but funny :lmao: I did get some pics that I will try to post tonight. Food was yummy too.

Thanks for all the notes about feeling better. I am thankful that I am feeling better too.....still not where I need to be, but better than where I was 1 month ago - I go back to dr in November.

   Glad you're feeling better... and had a good visit!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON!!! :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo:

Ohhhhhhhh Look!!! It's time to borrow again!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congrats Holly and Happy Birthday Shannon!

Tonight is my first PTA sponsored dinner! Yippee!

I'll bet it's getting very pretty in the Poconos right about now! I am going to visit my son at Duke in NC in about a month. I sure hope there is still color on the trees in the mountains. I am going to drive part of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Still green here... BUT... I may take a ride up to the Adirondacks soon and see the colors up there... should be changing...

And we are getting a frost tonight so Indian Summer starts next week... I fee like I'm into fall this year... wasn't into summer but I think it was because I went on the cruise and jumped into summer with that...

You live in upstate NY? And you make TATER CAKES? With GRAVY? Sounds like a Southern cook to me! Are you a transplant? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yup... From Jersey!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm sure my idea of taters and gravy is different, but it tastes good!!!

She must be since she doesn't get it out of a jar :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I know her sister lives in Texas so we'll see what she says. Now I feel like chicken fried steak. I really need to eat!

Hi Connie. How are you?

HI CONNIE!!!

Different gravy... Brown - taste depends on what I'm cooking... Beef, chicken, mushroom.. whatever... :)

Hi Shannon!!! How are Ken and the girls????

Congrats Holly and Happy Birthday Shannon!

Tonight is my first PTA sponsored dinner! Yippee!

So... what are we eating??? :)

How do the girls like school this year?

How fun, Molly will be green with envy so I think I won't mention it to her

So are all the other girl friends. We have one ticket left because Ethan doesn't want to go and the mother of the girl Brooke chose won't let her go without her. Now I don't know what to do. I still don't know a lot of the parents so if one of my best friends won't let me take her I'm sure parents I don't even know won't either.

Well, he did play around for a bit longer. He did reasonable in his school exams and took a couple of college courses in travel and tourism before deciding at 19 to train to be a teacher!!! He graduated when he was 23.

After a couple of years he wanted to leave, but has been teaching for 11 years now.

I can deal with a little playing around as long as it works out in the end. Thank you  Plus I think Jon was the same way.

Sorry everyone is still miserable. I hope it's gone by Saturday so that you don't ruin your concert. Sounds like lots of fun, have a blast.

Hopefully Brooke can sing by then  right now she can't even talk.

Slip some sour cream and butter ( I use margarine because I like the taste better) in there too and some garlic salt. I use sharp cheddar.
