Great news about renting the house Nan! Lets hope you have better tenants this time.

thanks. they are a nice young couple, getting married in dec. they reminded me of paul and I many years ago....

This is from John on an old thread

YES and some of us even help to get their Lady's "massive over stuffed beast" closed.

He is talking about your suit case.

Our court system now allows us to schedule our jury service. I still can do the call in and check system, or just call and and set up a specific day we can attend.

that would be a nice way to work it. Then people can do what they can do rather than what they are told...oh well, Santa Clara County is not that up to date yet...

San Diego let me pick the courthouse location too!

That actually sounds good.....when I can't get a Caribbean Lemonade or a BBC or a glass of champagne, I'll order vodka and grapefruit.....I can drink them all night long.

I like anything with vodka but tequila is another story

back from looking at trip reports (nothing grabbed me this time)

Holly, chores really, not projects. Trying hard to remember the last time I vaccuuuuummmmmmmed. Have lots of mail to go through and a final batch of bills/statements to send of to the insurance guy regarding my car. I should probably clean my refrigerator...since it's EMPTY. Stuff like that.

Time to call in my pizza order and head on home, hope there is something good on the SCI FI channel...my favorite Friday night viewing spot.

Catch you all later.....

BTW, ONE YEAR TILL I SET SAIL FOR TORTOLA! oh...and some of my friends and family will be along too.

YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! That's great news Jackie! Good for you! I'm so glad you only have to wait until next week to get it. That worked out like you said and that's great.

Sometimes I get 5 day menus and most times I get the 7 day menus so I can read about what I'm missing. It's okay coz those are my "cheat" days.

I think you're really going to like it once you get used to it. Congratulations for taking that step in the right direction.

I'm so proud of all of us here that are really trying to make it work. Even Marilyn, although she eats many sweets, will work out with the Wii. We're all doing good. Nan, you have us all beat. Consider cheating on weekends then getting strict again on Monday. When you cheat, don't go bingeing.....just have a little of one thing that you really want.

Hi Holly and Gaylean too!

PS Jackie, I'm eating sugar free blueberry cheesecake and it's soooooooooooo good. It's only 70 calories.

I gotta tell ya I owe my motovation to Liserann, she did boot camp before the cruise and that was what inspired me.:thumbsup2

On the home front, things are somewhat quiet except ...

Before we left for California, I had decided I was fed up with our AT&T DSL. On a fairly frequent basis it goes out altogether. I am tired of support asking me the same questions again and again, to which I respond, the only change has been I went to sleep and then I woke up, or "I went to the bathroom and I flushed. Should I have not done that? Did that bring he DSL down?"

Then to boot, when it is working, it's slow ... very slow.

What is quite ironic is that all of these problems started when I upgraded the line to "faster DSL."

So, to make a short story long, before leaving for California, I decided to switch us to Comcast cable Internet.

I scheduled the install for tomorrow, September 13th.

They decided that I probably don't know what I want and only Comcast knows what's best for me, so they dispatched the installer yesterday, Thursday afternoon while I was at work.

Apparently when I scheduled the service and we agreed on Saturday the 13th, they entered Thursday, the 11th.

The woman on the phone asked if there was anyone at home who could deal with the installer?

I responded, "Yes, there is, but quite frankly the installer would have greater success if they talked about the installation with a bowl of fruit. The bowl of fruit is better equipped to deal with an Internet installation."

(I really did say that. Sukie has many strengths. Things technical is not one of them.)

The installer did come and it was a disaster.

We are now on a waiting list for tomorrow, but with an appointment for Saturday the 20th.

I would say that as a first experience with Comcast, this did not portend well.

So, now is the weekend. Tomorrow morning we need to go grocery shopping, and then later in the morning I will work on downloading the photos from our cameras.

I have also been reading what Michelle has been writing about the hurricane with great interest. My sister lives in Houston, I guess I should call her.

I know, I'm a bad brother and neglectful. On the plus side, I did remember to tell her that I was getting married. I managed to remember to do that the weekend before we left for California.

.

It took Comcast 6 hours to install cable, phone and internet here! On a Friday night - they arrived at 5 and left at 11pm - oh yeah and it took 2 guys! So don't expect miracles :scared1:

Oh and they spelled my name wrong so I was coming up on everyone's caller id with the wrong last night for over 2 weeks.

Well the first time I went I was 24 and wanted to go to the clubs in South Beach and Ft Lauderdale. The last time was Ethan's birthday and it was his dream to go to the Nick Hotel so I felt I had no choice. Plus the cruise cost a lot and I didn't want to have to limit their spending the first time they were there.

Those are very good reasons, but you HAVE to check it out at some point. We don't stay on property because it's more expensive. We stay at Staybridge Suites near Downtown Disney (you can get a 2BR with a full kitchen for about $150 a night) and we have a car. We drive to where ever we want and park and play. We usually buy a 6 day hopper. We always have days left over. I have tickets for me and John with 2 days still available on them. For you it wouldn't pay to do it that way, but you could buy like a 2 or 3 day park ticket.:) :)

Is it that close :sad1: :sad1: I need a cruise :sad2:

Not sure if the festival is going on at DL too. Maybe another left coaster will know better than me. I can't wait to taste the champagne at France......and they'll have food and wine kiosks all around world showcase. I'm excited.

John said he's going to get a grand marnier orange slushie at France......ew la la!

I've been wanting to try one of those slushies too so Iwill probably join him. (Darrell will be driving:thumbsup2 )
