Thanks for sharing the food find Ian. We don't have arnold here in CA, but I think our Oroweat is the same, (kind of like Bestfoods/hellman's mayonnaise thing)

I will for sure be on the look out for them. I have also just tried the Morningstar veggie burgers. I like the pizza flavored ones. I have also recently tried greek yogurt. It's great to doctor up for a dip or in place of sour cream.

Oh no, she said the word 'greek'. Looks like a gyro salad is called for at dinnertime!

Yes, Oroweat is the same out here, I'm going to look for them also, as I'll need things on hand for weekends.

Deb, I did sort through my BistroMD stuff, looks like they threw in an extra plain oatmeal :confused3 and they gave me a whole box of the hot chocolate, which I ASSUME I'm only supposed to use the ONE on this weeks menu and the others may be for the future. :confused3 I'm already sad that I'm not getting one of the weekend meals (pork loin) but I know it will show up on another rotation. Can't wait to try the talpia, it's one of my favorite fishes :fish:

It's just the opposite here. It's been 80-90 degrees since Labor Day. TODAY is the first cool day we have had all month. We finally got to shut the air conditioners off. Usually they're out of the windows and packed away already by this time of the year. We're afraid to put them away yet, so we just turned them off for now. Then Monday will be the first day of Fall. Hope the weather stays like this around here. I love leaving for FL when it's cool and brisk at home and warm and sunny down there.

I haven't had to run my AC for a couple of weeks!! The highs have been about 80 and that's what I keep my house at, so I'm tickled pink. Of course when I'm gone and have the house closed up, it probably comes on still.

It's really starting to feel like fall here, although the leaves haven't started turning yet. I don't think that'll happen for a couple more weeks.

So I started emptying the suitcase and sorting out the clothes. I have to finish it tonight before going to bed.

John said he'll take his clothes and mine to the laundry tomorrow and have them wash and fold it. Then he can pick it up when it's done and we put it right into the suitcases and voila, we're packed.:thumbsup2

Now THAT'S the way to do laundry for a trip!

Food Find

Allow me to share my latest food find with you all:

Arnold Select - Sandwich Thins

Serving = 1 roll
Cal = 100
Fat = 1g
Fiber = 5g

By my WW points calculator it is ... 1 point.

It comes in a variety of flavors and I have made some nice sandwiches with it already.

Today I had a 1 point veggie burger with 2 slices of FF cheese and the sandwich thin, total = 3 points.

That's why I took a walk to the supermarket, to get some more packages of Sandwich Thins. We've decided they're a big hit at our house.

I'm going to look for those, Ian, along with the veggie burgers you talked about. Sounds good!

The county fair is on this weekend and I think I'm going to go out there and practice taking dusk and night shots with my camera.

I'm going to be going to New York City for a few days in Oct. with my sis. One night we're going to a taping of the Letterman show but the other night we were thinking about trying to see a Broadway play. Has anyone got any suggestions about what to see, the best way to get tickets, any ways of getting deals, etc?

TIA!:goodvibes

Ah, the Jersey Lilly!

I love all those Edwardian ladies. Read a wonderful book about Jenny Jerome (W.Churchill's mother) many years ago.

I need to check and see if Duchess of Duke Steet is available at Blockbuster.

The Duchess of Duke Street was a wonderful series. I think we're going to have an Edwardian Autumn here at Eastwood Manor.

Cherie...

This is the site I've used for discounts... it's good because it isn't a ticket broker...it just has the discounts and then links you to the actual ticket site (ie telecharge)

BTW... Mary Poppins WAS fun... But don't sit in the orchestra towards the back... you will miss something very important... ;)

Just move Mrs F out of the way when you are outside under the EL beating the rugs!!!

Speaking of food, I just realized I never ate lunch, only ice cream. And never ate supper either. Tyler ate a hot dog at the game before he came home, so after we went grocery shopping, he had a yogurt before getting his pjs on and he's satisfied, so I'll eat after he's in bed. He's dinking aroung getting jammies on, but I'll be headed off to read his bedtime book in a minutes. His teacher has been reading the class a book about some girl called Junie B, so Tyler picked 2 of those books on his library day yestreday. I've never heard of her, but it's a strange choice for a boy. Oh well, he's excited, so that's all that matters. Off I go! Back later with some AWESOME news after he's in bed!

WTG TEBOW!!!!

GO GATORS!!!

AWESOME!!! They talked about they needed PEYTON ---- HELLLOOOOOOO he didn't do anything over Danny!!!!
Sorry V, it's all Greek to me, hopefully somebody else is around who can speak your lingo. :rotfl: But great to see you today! :goodvibes

OMGoodness......I hope Tyler didn't catch an eyefull!!!

Bye Holly, cya later!
He didn't even notice her outside. He was too busy putting his giant green foam finger back on. I have a picture to post after I get caught up of him in all his Sparty stuff.

The cable saga ...

The Comcast installer showed up at 8:10 PM. He looked around and asked me if I had cable service (one might think that Comcast would have some inkling as to whether I am a customer or not).

I told him no, I have Direct TV.

Turns out he has to come back tomorrow. I told him I want this done at 2:00 PM because I work in the morning.

So there goes my Sunday, shot.

What surprises me is that I'm a new customer. This does not portend well.

Unfortunately, my AT&T DSL is horrible and S L O W. It ironically became slower when I upgraded to a "Pro" line. I have found that talking to AT&T is similar to trying to teach a pig to sing, you waste your time and it annoys the pig.

What has happened to service?

I take that back, I actually have typically experienced really good service with Direct TV.

So ... I guess no drives tomorrow and no Costco.

Poop.

Still waiting for the cable guy (on hold with Comcast now).

And since you asked, here you go:

Thanks Ian, I checked out their website and it says they're not in my area yet. I actually want to try them when they get here. :thumbsup2

OOoooooooh! I know nothing, but just had to say what a fun trip that will be! :yay:

And whats for dinner?

You have some great ideas. Do you get alot of them from your WW memebers. I got the gardenburgers from someone sharing at my meeting.

you also need to tell us again about the smoothies you made. I remember they sounded really good.

Dinner was a Lightlife Italian sausage (1 point), broccoli (0 points), cauliflower (0 points), wholewheat rotinni with garlic and mushrooms (3 points), and corn on the cob (1 point). Total = 5 points.

Now I have to figure out what's for dessert, except I'm really not hungry.

The smoothies:

1 packet WW vanilla smoothie mix (1 point)
2 cups frozen fruit of your choice (2 point)
2 packets Splenda
A splash of vanilla
A glass of ice
A glass of cold water

Throw it all in a blender and blend the crap out of it.

It makes about 2 glasses (Sukie and I each have one) and is 1.5 points for each glass. We love it.

Oh Ian, that's really crappy. But just think, it will be taken care of tomorrow and then next weekend you won't have this problem and can do fun stuff! :thumbsup2
