That's too funny! Hmmm.....I should take a picture of my crazy neighbor across the street next time she lays across her driveway one day. No chair, no blanket, she just laid down one day across the middle of her driveway and took a nap.
Tyler cracks up at all the goofy things she does. He always says, "Remember when she was outside shoveling her sidewalk in her NIGHTGOWN with no coat on?!" 
so she bailed on us! WUSSS!!!!!Her champagne brunch is WAY longer than anyone elses, so she couldn't think of smart a s s remarks quick enough to keep up with us! I quote from her phone call" Thisssss jussst(hiccup) isssnt anyyyy(hiccup) fun! I can't keeeep up(hiccup)" !

I think I could handle making that corn chowder. I think I'll try it this week, if I can remember to go get the ingredients from the store.

Funny you mention that......my favorite food to eat is stuffed grapevine leaves with egg and lemon sauce......give me a plate of those and a bottle of champagne and I'm the happiest puppy.
Mom showed John how to make them. He mixes the stuff that goes in the middle. I just roll it in the leaf......so I guess I'm an assistant, not actually the cooker. Does it count anyway???
Oh yeah, and John makes the egg and lemon sauce too.....that's actually the hard part. I guess it doesn't count.

This is great news Michelle! So glad their house seems to be fine. I bet it will be quite some time before they have electricity though.We talked to my sister just a little bit ago...
My BIL was able to get back to the house... he had to drive around a ton of debris and trees down.
In their part of Clear Lake they did ok. They are in the newer part... the older part has more damage - more trees, etc. Their friends have a tree down on their house.
The house seems ok... they still have to check the roof, etc. no windows broken. No electric obviously
School is called off for at least another week.
They didn't get to see that much more - they didn't want to stay and get in the way of the emerg. personel.
They know they got LUCKY!!!
There was flooding about a mile away.... if it had gone up the ship channel as they thought it might... they would have gotten flooded...
So for now... that's it... not sure what they are going to do next, but I've stopped doing as I call it.. "Claire cleaning..."
