Speaking of the wedding I am so sorry we can't be there. Kristin and Emily both start soccer. I have one game in Bakersfield and the other here in Santa Clarita at 8:00 and 1:00.

I hate that when they have games far away from each other on the same day. I'm a bad mom though because I forgot to sign them up this year. I'm happy a little though because I wanted Ethan to try baseball and boy scouts. Brooke has cheer and girl scouts.

You are only a little closer. It only took me 1 1/2 hours to get home. So lets plan it. This time we'll BBQ!
And the nice thing about so cal, is we can BBQ anytime.:cool1:

Why didn't we do it this weekend since it was a long weekend :upsidedow
I read somewhere you already had plans this weekend.

If it did he would lose Tink too :sad1:
Now that would NEVER happen.:lovestruc :lovestruc
I didn't get my daily phone call.....it MUST be a holiday :lmao:
Hey the day's not over yet.:lmao:

You were supposed to be here for tri tip and tequila yesterday but you passed out on the couch!

Yeah what he said. Ask Jon. He'll tell you too.

Kristin plays club that is why we have such a horrible travel route. Last year was not a big deal because Emily did not play but this year I have four games that are big issues. Oh Well! Dad will have to step up. Kristin plays on Sats and Suns.

Not the keys in Florida you ding dong. The keys at Colorado River.

You must have been flying.I was doing 90 and it still took me an hour.

I'm sorry. I was talking about that early so I had no idea what you meant. I've never heard of the keys at the river :lmao: It was a house we found on vrbo.com (# #57965) at it was close to London Bridge. It was the first time we were on that side. Usually we stayed in some trailers at an Indian Casino and I can't think what it was called even though we went there for 15 years. I'll remember in a minute. Havasu Landing :lmao: :lmao:

I can't believe we're travelling again.

Even though it's only a 6-day trip I've started getting everything together.

Our biggest issue are the dogs, Tallulah and Truman.

Some of you might recall that we came home from the repo cruise to an unfortunate situation.

Boarding 2 dogs is very expensive, about $90 a day. What we did for the cruise was get a friend of Sukie in to dog-sit.

He really needed the money and we saved a lot of money. I paid him very well, and he really didn't need to do very much, just feed them, and let them out. It was very easy cash in-pocket.

Plus he got to stay our our place, which for him would be a bit of luxury, what with the 2 flat screen TVs, HD satellite, Blue-Ray, etc. We also did all the grocery shopping so he would be well supplied.

When we came back, we got an earful from our neighbors/tenants upstairs, who themselves have 2 dogs.

They told us that the dogs were locked in their crate most of the day, and they would hear him yelling at them.

Sukie was extremely upset, and has stopped talking to him altogether.

It's a same, because he really does need the money and it was so easy.

So, we've had to find a new boarding place. The place we had been using was good, but too far away, plus they weren't the most cooperative people around, insisting that everything be done at their convenience.

We tried a new boarding place when we did our overnight in Canada. It was recommended by our vet. They're not too far away from our house (about 3/4 of a mile), plus they offer pick-up and drop-off which is great considering these things frequently need to happen when I'm at work and Sukie doesn't drive.

Their pricing is pretty comparable to other boarding places.

H O W E V E R .... I do think they are a tad "over the top." I'm actually a bit embarrassed by the place and find it verging on silly.

They consider themselves a "doggy spa." Let's put it this way, Sukie and I don't even get that kind of treatment when we go on vacation.

I was looking up their phone number yesterday and I came across these 2 news pieces from local Chicago televison.

You'll see what I mean:

Have you checked into a professional pet sitter?

We used one while we were living in San Diego and it worked out great - and it was cheaper than boarding. Though we have cats so only needed one visit a day - not sure how many Tallulah and Truman would need.

We miss the days when Darrell was in grad school and we had friends who would stay with the cats for nothing more than access to our cable (we had HBO + Cinemax :thumbsup2 ) .

I didn't hear about this until this morning so maybe next weekend or the weekend after since I know you're busy this weekend!

The thoughts this week at our dismeet were that they will not leave the Caribbean before the new ships are coming over the next year, so they will do alternating 10 & 11 night southern caribbean cruises.

Hey that sounds good to me - I know Deb and others have said how much they loved the So Caribbean cruise!

I did have plans and they were fun but I didn't make them until the middle of the week.

The day isn't over so we'll see what tonight brings.

Jon will lie and say you guys are crazy :lmao:

I know. Jon played until he was a teen. I'm afraid Ethan isn't great so I can't imagine him continuing after it gets competitive. Then again, I don't think Jon was that great either but he thought he was :lmao:

I remember those days but I think it was beer in the fridge!
