The thoughts this week at our dismeet were that they will not leave the Caribbean before the new ships are coming over the next year, so they will do alternating 10 & 11 night southern caribbean cruises.

This is the rumor I hope is true! I would love this!

That is so expensive. I guess you know they'll be alright but it seems like a lot to pay. I'm glad you didn't have to pay that for the long trip.

It's not too bad because they are not going into a "suite". Only about $45 per dog, which is pretty much the going rate here in Chicago.

I wish I could find someone, someone's teenager, who could be trusted and also would like to pick up some extra money.

The dogs are really not any trouble.

That is what we did last year, 14 nights on the TA and then 11 nights in the med. It was 25 nights on the Magic.

Castaway Cay
Tenerife, Canary Islands
Cadiz, Spain
Gibraltar, UK
Barcelona, Spain
Palermo, Sicily
Naples, Italy (Huge selection of places to go we went to Amalfi Coast, Sorrento)
Rome, Italy
La Spezia, Italy (this was a huge selection of places to go,we went to Pisa)
Olbia, Sardinia (a waste of time, but I did pasta cooking class with Joey Fatone and his family)
Marseilles, France (a big stop, we went to Aix on Provence)
Villefranche, France (another big stop with many selections. We went to Nice, Monte Carlo)
Then most of us flew to Paris.

I would love to do the transatlantic, but you did have a rough crossing didn't you? I'm not sure I would want to do all those ports, but I could stay onboard!!!

Second on my list.

I wouldn't mind this either. I'm just confused and feeling pressure from too many people :lmao: :lmao:

Hey, no pressure from me!!!

Southern Caribbean or a PC repo for us! No Alaska!:goodvibes

Jon is starting to wonder if he has any say in where we decide to go. He thinks I'm crazy because I want EVERYONE to be on one cruise or another and that just isn't going to happen :sad1:

We were lucky when we had a dog because we were the only one's that had our own place so everyone was happy to stay at our house and "dog sit" or have a party ;)

If the Med ports were similar there are some I wouldn't need to get off at - well perhaos a walk round. I'm thinking they wouldn't repeat the ports though, apart from maybe Tenerife as they would need a stop after the crossing. However, there is Lanzarote or Madeira too.

I'm glad that Harry and I are on the same page when it comes to cruising. Harry is so easy going. He lets me plan and comes along for the ride!:thumbsup2

Hey, no pressure from me!!!

What is first? PC again? There are a few of you that aren't giving me pressure and you are one of them ;)

We'd like the ports. The only problem is for some of them, such as Barcelona, we'd want more than one day.

Ok... I just realized if Gustav comes close, we may lose power and then we're all going to have to sit around and look at each other... too much family togetherness.....

:lmao:

Board game time!!

Jon usually is too but I keep telling him all the rumors and he thinks we are all crazy :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: He has already been to Alaska and I won't even mention that he would love to go back. He wants to do the Caribbean but until today I didn't think there was on option for a longer cruise that went there. We would love to do the Med or Transatlantic because we have never been to any of the ports. I feel like half a day isn't enough time to do a lot of things in ports but maybe it would be enough time to decide if we wanted to spend the money to go back. We know we want to go back to Cabo and Aruba. The only port that I felt like I really saw and experienced was Aruba. I wish I would have done other things in all of the other ports. I did research Aruba the most though because I figured I would go to Mexico again.

Personally, I think it's taken the spontaneity out of WDW. Once upon a time you could decide on a whim where to eat, now you have to decide what you will want months in advance.

Me too.

I don't know where I want to eat until about 5 minutes into being hungry. Then it depends on where I am. Cannot imagine having to arrange to be there at a time when even my stomach does not run by the clock.

We tried to eat at Ohana as walk-ins before the Panama Canal cruise and they were packed, with a 25 minute wait list. Went around the corner to Kona Cafe (I think) and they were CLOSING! All we wanted was a snack! Then we went to DTD and got sandwiches as Wolfgang Puck Express was closing. We were staying at Old Key West. If we had known that the Poly would be so crowded and that walk in guests would not be served, we would have gone straight to DTD.

So how many of the ports were for the first cruise? That all sounds great to me. How was the weather and when was it?

CC to Barcelona was the TA, Barcelona to France were the rest.

Many people wanted to go to Madeira and Morocco/Casablanca.

We spent 3 days in Barcelona.

Have no worries Gaylean.

Whereever the ship goes I'm pretty sure we are going.

For a Med cruise we just aren't sure if we want to do the Transatlantic or if we want to tour the Med.

For us it will depend on the ports of call. However, I would lean towards the TA because I'm not sure I could do a Disney Cruise without a stop at CC. And yes that goes for the Alaskan one too. ;)

Let's face it, most of the fun of a Disney Cruise is the ship itself, so where it goes does it really matter?

I think I might take that booklet that the evacuation plans came in and smack her upside the head with it... ;)

I of COURSE will be blamed for causing the LATEST family fight (it's ALWAYS my fault...) :sad2:

OK so that that mean that she's older and you're younger???:confused3

When I was a kid it was always the older ones blamed for making the baby cry. She wanted to play but was too little so she messed up our game. We had asked her to stop but finally when she messed it up we yelled and she cried  and Mom rescued her and we got punished.:mad:

Finally my folks WATCHED without us knowing, figured it out and got more sensitive to what we were doing so they could INVITE the baby to do something with one of them before she messed up our activity.:thumbsup2

Parental Detective Work :cool2:

I give you guys a lot of credit for taking on these tasks yourself.

Our house was built in 1913.

Sukie and I once removed wallpaper in a little entry foyer. It was like and archeological dig. We went past literally decades of wallpaper. When we hit the 1920's we hit some fabulous art deco paper that we really liked.

We never made it earlier than the '20's because the wall fell down.

No kidding, the entire wall fell. The plaster just crumbled and came away from the lathe.

We were standing there looking at rubble and nothing there but the lathe.

The wallpaper had been holding up the wall.

We then had to get someone in to drywall.

That was just one of our many of our stories about our attempts at home renovation and how the house rebelled.

.
Wow! I don't think I'd try any more renovating if that happened to me. ;)

We spent 3 days in Barcelona.

We would be on it in a heartbeat.

If we could do Barcelona Madeira and Casablanca? Wow!
