Someone probably already answered this but....Gustav is still out there and will probably be a Cat 4 hurricane however it doesn't seem to be a threat to Florida.....forecasters are saying Hannah looks like another Jeanne (from 2004) headed to FL.

I keep an eye on all storms, but don't worry about the track unless it seems like it's going to affect me.

Me neither... but I'd rather be in NY right now..

Well we did one of the city highlights and cliff Divers tours. We were lucky in that we had a good guide, but it was all such a long hot mess at the cliff divers. Glad we have actually seen it, but no need to venture off ship again!

I agree Marilyn! DH and I would love to do the PC repos again! We have no desire to go to Alaska. We have enough cold weather here. Our vacation destinations must include palm trees!

Hi Donna!!! So lovely to see you. I feel I am so new to cruising that I want the traditional experience for a while - sun and heat(with a palm tree too). Perhaps soon I will be ready for the cooler type of cruise and the downright cold one!!!

I will never be ready for a cold cruise! Believe it or not though, I do love winter and snow. But vacation has to be hot!

My niece's 7th birthday is next month. She has decided on a Pirate and Princess party (was originally going all princess but then wanted to invite 2 boys so we convinced her to add the pirate part).

We need suggestions for activities to keep about 20 kids busy for 3 hours.

So far there is going to be a pinata and cake.

Any ideas?

We did a pirate birthday for Shaelyn a few years back. We had the kids decorate pirate bandanas. Shannon just cut some cheap white cloth into bandanas and then brought out the markers and the kids coloured on them. You could do pirate bandanas and princess crowns (just use cardboard for the crowns).

Both groups could decorate "treasure chests" as pirates seek treasure chests and princesses have them in their rooms.

I guess firstly there would be the option of the WB repo to LA, then from LA to wherever near Alaska, then the start of the summer cruises up there.

I'm up for the PC bit and possibly further up the coast. Not sure I could manage the Alaska one then though.

Maybe they will have a special cruise from LA including Alaska then start off with regular Alaska cruises...

Yup, I can crochet and knit. We could also get green arctic fleece material and sew scarves with appliqued black mickey heads on the ends of the scarves There's so many options!
We could even knit disgreen wooly underwear for Gaylean and Marilyn
