Ah I see

HI Ian

I am afraid that my husband and I didn't enjoyed the Blue Bayou. It was lovely decoration and it was very dark for us to communication and cannot see the menu too. The menu was very expensive. Our kids refused to eat the meals and the waiter took one price off and it was expensive:scared1:

After that we went around corner and found fish and chips for kids as they enjoyed it as it much cheaper.

I hope I don't put you off as remember it is very popular and thank for Kelly advised us about it but it was not for us. As everyone have different mind.

Scottishwee35

I agree about the prices and we wouldn't mind if the food was better. That being said, I think it is something everyone should experience just to say you did it. Plus, unless you are going to DTD, the food isn't great in DL.

I don't really want to say that I've sailed on Carnival, but they are 1 of the cruiselines that I'm considering for Northern Europe if DCL doesn't do it. It would be on 1 of the newest ships. Don't want to do an old ship...all that neon....YUCK!
I actually loved the Carnival one I went on as much as Disney. It was the Carnival Liberty. I found all staff and food quality and cleanliness, and everything else to be the exact same standards. But it was 8 days and people say the ones that are 7 days or longer are better because the "party ships" are typically the shorter cruises. Or so I've heard. And the best part........adults could use the slide in the pool! ;)

I read somewhere recently that the average AVERAGE!! cost of weddings these days is around $40K! Amazing!

We ( in the olden days ) 1973 got married at my home church (no cost), paid the preacher, got flowers that were in season, I bought my dress off the rack with no alterations. Rental TUXES. My cousin made the bridesmaid dresses.

It was beautiful! All of my relatives and Chuck's relatives and our friends came.

We had our reception at the local ELK's Club, where my mom and dad were members......we had a buffet and free bar for 4 hours......and a band which was almost free because they were also Elk's club members.

Chuck and I went camping in Rocky Mountain National Park for our honeymoon!

What fun we had when we were youngsters.........:hippie: :hippie: :cool1: :cool1:

That sounds great to me. The problem is that, if we were getting married now, I feel like Jon (not me) would want to compete with his friend's weddings. We have been to 50 weddings in the last few years and Jon has been in most of them. Most of them were really extravagant. The last one that he was in last April was a huge wedding and they hired entertainment  The stupid part was that we all just wanted to dance. A HUGE portion of the guests left before the DJ even started because there were so many other things going on. It was a mess to us. Then the went for a month to Italy. The husband does Jon's exact job so we know this was all charged! I'm glad we got married when we did. Our friends were just impressed that we had a house that they could hang out in, we didn't need an extravagant wedding to impress them!

I can only party on Fridays! :guilty:

I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better, Monday is game night here so I wouldn't think there would be any partying going on. I'm sure that is about to change back to Wednesday though because of Monday night football!

I got it to work the 1st time, then I made the mistake of refreshing, and then it did go back to the 11th....weird.

This is what I saw...

Lovely. Now, I expected them to be there tomorrow as we had 2 sea days between there and LA. I guess they have a different schedule.

Have we become too dependent on our computers.

Are you male or female?

Ha Ha Got Ya. :lmao: :lmao:

I fell for this, so thought I'd share it with everybody!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It does, thanks. I wish we were all there.

Well I'm not sure I would spend the money after 12 years of marriage but it sure seemed ok at the time. Of course we didn't spend that much but it was a lot to us at the time! We wanted a huge 10 year "reception" but never did that after we started looking into the costs :scared1: We would rather go with you guys on a Disney Cruise!

Aaaaw:hug:

What do you do with seven year olds that make them so excited they can't sleep? I knew you were a great grandmother ;) :lmao: :lmao:

The strange thing is I'm not actually!!! Really. I am just not one of those gushy grannies!!!:lmao: I think my children must be very disappointed with us here. Charlotte and Amy are by far the easiest of our grands though.

OK, got it. I hope it's a thing of the past, only time will tell. The big test will be when he starts school in a couple weeks and has to sit and focus and do work and try to deal with the frustration. That frustration is what ends up making him lash out most of the time, so we'll see how it goes. His dad did say he practiced writing for a half hour over the weekend, so that's a huge improvement over 5 minutes at a time. Only time will tell.

Only time will tell, but it sure sounds like Tyler is on the road to success. We all encounter speed bumps, but when we're on the right road we still go in the right direction. :yay:

After his karate class yesterday, 2 instructors told me they've seen a remarkable improvement in Tyler recently. ;) (Since meds). One called me at work today and wants to talk with me tomorrow about starting him in the Leadership classes. I have no idea what that means, I just know it's a step above the Tiny Tigers class he's in now, but I'll find out tomorrow during his class what that means. :thumbsup2 I'm sure it means more money! But if it's helping Tyler, and improving his confidence, I'm OK with that if it's not too costly, especially since his dad pays 1/2. I'm pretty sure it's only $25/month more.

I forgot to tell them that he used a self defense move, automatically, just based on instinct, last week when a kid at school hit him. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, it wasn't really an airshow. The airshows I remember as a kid, had the Blue Angels, and stunt planes, a Stealth plane, and tons of cool things flying around. This was just a few little planes sitting on the ground to look at. But it was free, so that's better than nothing! :goodvibes

But Tyler would not be able to sit in THEM!!

Jan :earsgirl:

Hi

Looking the picture::

YES it is MAGIC at the Cabo

I wish we all were there and I cannot believe that we had been there last May.

I had so much fun in Cabo. ::yes::

Well at least you take them, even if you aren't gushy :lmao: We don't really have anyone to help us. Jon's mom takes care of his brother's two year old and she doesn't have time for us. When she does, she wants me to go with her because it is too hard to handle three kids. My mom just isn't that interested unless she is "needed" and since all of my siblings needed her, my kids were out. The fact that you think you might not be the greatest grandmother makes me believe that you are better than you think ;)

Hi

I have reading backward lol

You make me feeling better after what I had saying about it.

Kelly - please don't feel bad as it was great experience to see it.

Holly

We won Carnival Cruise called Freedom about 13 years ago as that times we didnt have any children. We had a fabulous times too. We didnt went to gamble but we did played bingo I won Jackpot of 2,000.00 but 4 shouted means shared 4 (I cannot remember if 1,000 or 2,000) after that we travel to Tampa lol. What a great memory. But I think Disney Cruise is best:rolleyes1

:rotfl: :rotfl: That remind me how my old teacher tricked us once.

OK, I have a deal! Starting Sept. 1, I'll be working Mon-Wed 8:30-3 and Thurs & Fri 7-5 with FULL BENEFITS! AND.....even though I just recently received almost $1/hour raise, the office administrator will work on getting approval for ANOTHER raise for me at the end of the year!!!! And this leaves 3 days a week that I can juggle any appointments Tyler may need. I'll just need to make any appts. on Mon, Tues, or Wed afternoon. That's doable! No need to keep job shopping. I'll stick it out where I am for a while! I think the turning point is that one good secretary is quitting in 2 weeks, and they also know I've been interviewing for other jobs. :thumbsup2

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Oh brilliant, I wish I have that job as I am boring with my work now:sad2:

We really enjoyed Blue Bayou. Quite a different atmosphere, but it could do with some more lighting - perhaps a better light at the tables then the overall atmosphere isn't spoilt.

Yes, it would be better if more lighting but I feel like to bring touch with me next time:lmao:

Whose birthday was it? Our 35th anniversary was yesterday, 8-18-2008.....must be good luck, all those 8's!

We went to Mexico at EPCOT to eat and then to Raglan Road Irish pub at PI. We had a caregiver for Patrick, so it was just Chuck and me! We still have a bottle of chmpagne in the fridge to toast Hurricane Fay with today!

Whoopee!

Connie

Nice to hear from you and 35th Wedding Anniversary WOW. That is great and glad you had a lovely times at Mexico at EPCOT then Irish pub. Was Irish music there?

I'm looking after our 2 grandaughters today. They are 7 next week and are so good and play together which is a dream.

Apparently they were so excited they didn't sleep much last night!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Bet their mum was pleased.:rotfl2:

How are the girls? Well behaved??? I think they are excited with their nana and grandad?

Oh well I just finish working and now I think I have a relax now.

I wouldn't be able to cope with Carolyn's 4 on my own. The boys are much harder. Joel gets very bored and mopes around and Nathan just gets so naughty after a while!!! He is so loveable, but so naughty!!!!:lmao:

Our sons daughter's are hard work because they both like one to one attention, and the youngest is a terrible attention seeker. They are both lovely girls though and the most demonstrative of our grandchildren.

Tomorrow our other son is coming for a few hours and bringing Molly our almost 1 year old grandaughter for a visit.

Um did I tell you that I was depressed too :lmao: :lmao: I was trying to make you laugh Monica, I really hope you feel better ;)

Well there can't be anything wrong with a 1 year old  It sounds like you have too many grand kids

I went to bed early with a mild migraine. It wasn't a major pounder though, and I managed to get rid of it by morning by taking stuff a couple times during the night. :thumbsup2 I think that's the first one I've had in 2 weeks, and am amazed at how quickly it went away. I love my drugs! :rotfl2:
I'm so happy for you ::yes::

Jan :earsgirl:

OH MY GOSH, I have to try to remember to show that picture to Tyler. Since age 2, he's insisted that he is a firefighter (but now he's a firefighter/paramedic). He's never just pretended, or just says that's what he'll be when he grows up, he insists he already is one. :rotfl: He'd love that picture for sure! :goodvibes

And how fortunate Tyler is to have a Mom who accepts his plans and encourages his enthusiasm!!

8 is a lot for sure. No, I love them all and they are all great children. I'm not blinkered to their negatives though.

Well, at least we fit with the norm. Not that I'm not looking forward to celebrating, but something cozy with friends seems so much nicer.

If you love architecture you will love Chicago, the birthplace of American architecture.

There are fascinating architectural walking tours (and a ton of them).

The most amazing thing is to be looking at a skyscraper in the Loop and stand there thinking that the building was built around 1930 or so and you find out that it was built around 1890!

Chicago is to architecture what Paris is to food. Chicagoans are obsessed with it (and OK, obsessed with really good pizza too.)

Sounds like we would love it, we are real estate junkies.
