yes I can be a passenger. The issue is that I would not pass the physical due to High Blood Pressure. Something about people like me having strokes in the air, silly to worry...just kidding. I'm fine with the rules, it's for overall safety so not a complaint from me on this.

This is quite funny but I'll never forget the time we had before the cruise....my kids thought I was a wack job! There were times when Jon asked me if I could breathe

I noticed on Mrs Bennet that it is only 15 days away! Crap! We'd better learn this weekend how to tie the ties I bought.

I told Sukie the number of days and he snapped at me. He hasn't written his column yet for while we are away. He always panics like this before a trip about his columns.

I think this time the columns are just a smoke screen. I think he's having second thoughts.

I'm ok. I got an email from Molly's last teacher telling me the name of the teacher to avoid like the plague and yep, Molly got her for this year. So, I'm trying to figure out my tact to get her changed. Since this is a new principal I don't have a personal connection and I'm concerned about making my concerns known and not getting her changed. I was told that this teacher uses classroom ridicule in her teaching practices. Hence the worry. This will surely not work well for Molly. I did also find out that she is top of the list for testing, so I can only hope that she fails the tests this year and qualifies for an IEP. I can't imagine going on many more years with her hand writing problems not being accepted as a problem that she can get some extra time or help for. lordie lordie it never ends when you've got kids.

how are you doing? are you stuck at home because of the weather?

this weekend is wilson's do-over 8 1/2 birthday race. Most of my family is coming, mom, aunt and cousins. He is looking forward to it. I hope he drives like the wind....

I'm sorry about Molly's teacher. I'm dreading finding out our teachers on Friday. They asked me what I thought for Brooke but all the 3rd grade teachers are new this year

Furthermore, if you can't change teachers and this teacher even dares to ridicule Molly, you can tell the teacher that if she wants ridicule, there are two pissy gay men who will fly in from Chicago, and provide her with some personal ridicule she will never forget.

(We have been to enough gay cocktail parties that we are fighting fit and street tough. She'll feel like she's been hit by a truckload of Vogue magazines.)

Jon always wants to buy me fancy bags and jewelry because his friend's wives have them and I always tell him to take me on vacation. Our friends rarely go anywhere and that is not acceptable for me.

Was woken up early this morning 6am or so to a strange noise, I thought it was the garbage truck, I was wrong it was our neighbor's employee driving his dump truck into our tree Instead of stopping when he hit the tree he drove forward and ripped it apart. We are now having a large mature tree (20-30 years old) cut down from our park strip. It was very pretty and gave nice look and shade. I've asked to have a Crape Mertle replaced for it. They have a pretty flowering plant, but of course it will be a small tree compared to its nieghbor (we had 2 in our parkstrip) oh well, it was just a tree and not a car or a kid.

We have a baby Crape Mertle too, I'm hoping it will flower this year.

The Disney Cruise Line® continues to monitor Tropical Storm Fay very closely.

Tropical Storm Fay has stalled along the eastern coast of Florida near our homeport of Port Canaveral, and its path is uncertain at this point.

For this reason, Port Canaveral has been closed by the Port Authority and the Aug. 21, 2008 sailing of the Disney Wonder® will set sail on its 3-night itinerary from Port Everglades, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Other than the departure port change, we do not anticipate any additional changes in the upcoming Disney Wonder itinerary. Transportation will be provided for Guests with transfers and those arriving by private vehicle at Port Canaveral. It is important that departing Guests park at our terminal in Port Canaveral as the ship is scheduled to return there on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008.

Wow - I would have thought you would get snow days occassionally.

Here snow is the norm in winter, so everybody is expected to be ready for it. Schools buses don't always run in the winter when it gets too cold (-32F). I missed a few days of school as a kid because it was too cold, but never work.

Nan - good luck with Molly. I tried to get Shaelyn switched for class 1 to 2 in kindergarten and didn't get anywhere. It would have been the same teacher, just schedule 2 was better for us and had her best friend in it.
