Speaking of things to drink...We opened a bottle of chianiti that I bought in Italy in 2001 during the opening ceremonies last week, it was really good. It was a 1997, as old as Molly!

It was a nice night, we opened the bottle and toasted to my dad and to our trip last summer to China.

Man I wish I could travel for a living.

Um ex- wife's club

Occasionally??? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ian's idea of sacks and bonnets are sounding pretty good to me. I already have bought stocks in Louisville sluggers. To quote Clint Eastwood in "Pale Rider" - "Nothing like a good piece of hickory".

But now they are made of maple and break more easily.

Well, it's almost 1:30am, and I don't think I can stay up any longer. Goodnight! I'll be here in the morning to see what you've all been up to as the night goes on. :thumbsup2

Well since everyone is conveniently gone :rolleyes1 Maybe I should watch my sick and perverted movie :confused3

don't bother it's not the same as it use to be. At least we tried:sad1:

When my SIL was here a few years ago she told me that in her area of NC the kids were already (at 5 yrs) telling the other kids that Disney characters and princesses were for babies and they didn't believe in them. It was sad.
:sad1:

This is where I think you have to be sensitive to the kid.

Our older son was "weirded out" by the reality of a huge mouse and would have NOTHING to do with the characters,

But when we told him it was a person in a costume like he did at home for Halloween he was very comfortable and we got GREAT photos.

If a kid is a realist and the adults keep saying that the characters are like that all the time, the kid thinks the adults are unreliable and stupid. Then they tell their friends that Disney is for babies.

The Realists are not lacking in imagination, they just know it is imagination, not real.

When this same son asked me a year later if Santa was really real, I asked him what he thought.

Without hesitation (he had obviously been thinking about it) he said "No, I think he is a pretend."

I said "You are right, he is a pretend, but everyone likes to pretend he is real, even grown-ups. Are you going to tell the other Kindergarteners?"

He said "NO!"

So, it was all good.

Jan :earsgirl:

My kids know that there are people in costumes. I also explained to them what those characters mean to adults. It is just fun and they never feel like they are babies for liking them. Some of their friends do but we explain to them that some kids are jealous.

I'm not sure about the clothing thing. Ethan couldn't care any less about his clothes and Brooke will only wear pretty dresses that aren't the style for her age, so my kids are strange I guess.

They have the courage of their convictions. They do not follow the crowd!! Good for them.

Jan :earsgirl:

Now what's wrong with that age? I love living pay check to paycheck :lmao: and partying isn't horrible when I can do it! That's the difference between 20's and 30's. In your 20's you just do it. In your 30's you do it if you can and well I'm assuming it gets less and less as the decades go on :sad1:

No, not less and less, it's more like you redefine it.

Someone else might not think it's a party and that is fine, they aren't invited anyway :rotfl:

Jan :earsgirl:

I've been having bad headaches lately and a good drink seems to help. Probably tension because I'm not sure if I have a job anymore

:hug: Keep talking ::yes::
What"s the latest?

Jan :earsgirl:

This reminds me. Brooke's feet are too big for the dress up high heels :sad1:

We used to play dress up in our Moms' old clothes and shoes. Nothing fit like the costumes available today, but we KNEW we were ELEGANT LADIES ::yes::

Jan :earsgirl:

Brooke's toe nails are painted all the time. I admit that I have taken her for a pedicure twice :rolleyes1 She likes for me to put her eyelashes up which means to curl them. She is a girlie girl but she doesn't like to show skin, yet

Girly girls are not tramps, they are LADIES-in-waiting.

Jan :earsgirl:

Me too so don't feel bad. You would recognize the mom but I can't think of what else she was in. She is kind of ugly and I can picture her in drug movies :confused3 but I'm not sure why.
