Okay, here is my bad news. I've parted ways with my current client. She is looking for top end forecasting and budgeting crap (which I can do but I hate) and I dragged my little hinnie and didn't get it done, and being that she is a woman and we can see right thru each other, she said let's part ways and remain friends. So I'm gainfully UNEMPLOYED. I've been struggling for the last five years or so with the fact that I make really good money doing what I do, but I HATE IT. Ive done this kind of work for 25 years and i just want a break and to do something that is worthwhile and meaningful. So after a bit of soul searching and crying on the phone with Paul I've decided that it's time for me to go back to school and finish up my degree that I abandoned when I was just 2 classes short of completing. I studied Political Science at San Jose State Univ. I've been dreading looking into what it will take now, as I bet my 2 classes have morphed into 10 or maybe even 20. But I've got to do something to find some kind of work that I enjoy instead of hating what I'm currently doing.

WOW, that was a datadump huh.

So, wish me luck in dealing with the admissions and records office at SJSU not a quest I'm looking forward too :headache:
Nan, don't look at this as bad news. Sure, it might be tough financially for a while, but look at it as an opportunity to pursue a new path, something you enjoy. Nobody should do a job they hate forever. Sometimes we have to though, while on our way to finding our true path.   You might have a tough transition period while working towards that degree, but when you get where you're going, you'll be so relieved and grateful for this opportunity. :goodvibes HANG IN THERE! You'll get there!

My lawyer and husband tells me that since I was seen in public in "that state" I have given up the rights to keeping it private :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Maybe you should include a caution to your viewers like they do for slasher movies...

It's fine of course. I'll be happy to see the slide show when you post it. I was able to watch just the first day so far, then the rest wouldn't link. I was going to try it again from another computer, I'm sure it's just being finicky.

Updated page one with Deborah's link and Robert's latest youtube.

If I Were Not Upon the Sea....is the reason I was late for work yesterday...had to watch it again! :thumbsup2

Had a lovely dinner with Cheri last night and got to see her new wheels...very nice...can't wait till our roadtrip. (Cheri, notice how I'm not mentioning that I FORGOT we had planned to meet...I'd call it a senior moment, but I really blame WORK as I get so focused and forget what's going on in my 'real' life!) Gee....I wonder if there is somewhere I'm supposed to be right now......:scratchin

.

Well, that is not necessarily bad news, though distressing at the time for you no doubt. You are young enough to get into something different that you want to do, starting with your degree. Sometimes it takes something like this. Hey, it is exciting!!! Though, I expect the financial implications are something else! You can do it though, and Paul is behind you.

All the best as you make enquiries Nan.

Life it just too short to spend it doing something you hate (the pot said calling the kettle beige). It sounds like a real opportunity and a new beginning.

Just remember, when a door is closed a window is opened ...

Would you like any other pat maxims?

Seriously, while not necessarily comfortable and a bit scary, it sounds like you will have the opportunity to do something you want to do.

All wise words, but I have to say that I'm with Lisa. When do we leave and are you sure that us old ladies are what they are looking for????? I guess we can supervise the pre-teens and make sure that they aren't getting into any trouble, and then when they are in bed at a decent hour well stroll to our loungers. I'm the 3rd from the right, and I'll save you your seat. Now I suppose Monica will want to come too. Okay one more seat who will take it????

Seriously, thanks for the words of encouragement. I've already made my easy email inquiry to a friend that is a professor at SJSU. (I'm looking for the easy way this time) I will most likely head over there tomorrow and just deal with the ugly reality of standing in line and asking my questions.

So, I'm DISing from our rental. WHAT A PIG STY. Not only is that hole in the floor a pisser, but the guys that just moved out are total pigs. I've filled a huge 64 ft recycle container with their beer bottles and more. Instead of throwing them, they decided to drop them in the side yard. Paul has gotten all the carpet and floor tacks up so we are ready to have the floors refinished and looking nice. It's a shame that we never did it for ourselves. I'll have to post photos when it's all done. It's such a cute little house.

He is sweeping up so we're outta here for a walk to the local Mexican resturant (that's the other great thing about this house) we could walk to anywhere we wanted to go. Now from our house we have to drive to even get Starbucks.

Catch ya later

OMGoodness one page worth of talking and I have to cook dinner :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I'll be back in awhile!

one more quick thing, more pictures of them at camp on the tuesday link.

Wilson 2nd row from the bottom in the middle

Molly and her friend (on the left) is one row up to the left one space.

I love spying on them.

Oh yeah, one more thing....what is everyone doing for the opening ceremonies on Friday????

We have planned to wear our Chinese outfits from last summer, Italian Wine (Paul found a missing bottle from our trip with my parents in Oct 2001) and American Ribs on the grill. Should be a fun night 8-8-08

last note, looks like mom's house will close escrow on 8-14-08. Yipee!!!!

OOoooooh! I love that idea, can I run away with you too! ;)

OK, I know I'm clueless most of the time, but opening ceremonies for what? What did I miss?

Everyone I know thought it would be more interesting than it was. I mean I wanted to have fun and they thought it was so cool to go through the canal and wondered why we only had 100 pictures of that :confused3 That day was so hot and A LITTLE interesting BUT, if you have kids, it was A LOT annoying. They were tired and hot and so was I. Jon took so many pictures so I'm not sure why people thought we needed more.

I stayed on Deck 4 starboard side for all the locks, much of the lake and all the canal. I was in the shade all day. Tom ran around taking pictures from different places with the new camera from Shutters since I had gotten water in the other EXPENSIVE camera. :scared1:

We had no kids with us. I can understand how that and sun exposure on Deck 10 would make it a different experience.

Sorry that day was not so good for you.

Jan :sad2:

OOPS - stupid computer automatically logs in as Ken and even though I already -relogged in as me once this evening, it lost the connection and I ended up back as Ken. So really this post is from LUVBALOO!

Getting caught up after a fun weekend in the woods. Family camping trip was better this year than last year. We didn't get any rain :cool1:. It really sucks getting rain when you are living in a tent. I loved it, the kids loved it, Ken had an okay time (for him that's great!). Got to do some kayaking, cook weiners over the campfire, kids made & ate smores, played some games, made spiked watermelon, all in all a fun weekend.

Holly - its great that things are going well with Tyler. This may be a weird perspective, but its probably good that he hasn't morphed into a perfect child. The meds are helping him learn to handle things, but like all kids (and adults) it takes time to learn.

Ian - glad to hear everything is okay after the tornado. I thought the Mi Sheberach you posted was neat.

Jan - great picture with the Mule.

Scottishwee - watched some of your slideshows tonight - looks great. Brings back lots of memories and of course, makes me wish I could go again.

Nan - could luck getting things set up for your schooling - will you be able to get started in September (if you want to)

Greetings to everybody else! Wow, miss 4 days and I had to read through 20 pages to get caught up!

Nan - please add Ken's and my hugs and pixie dust for Kaylee, Scott and the girls. I don't know the right words, but I hope they are finding the emotional strength they need to get through this.    :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :rainbow: pixiedust: pixiedust:

jackie the senior monemts get worse as you reach 60!!!:) :sad2: :rotfl2:

Oh, that explains it. Anything to do with sports, I have a permanent block on my brain. :rotfl:

I'm a bit similar. I do quite like the athletics but they don't start for a while. We used to be quite good and get some medals, but these days.....:confused3 :sad2: I don't like it well enough to enjoy other countries win all the time!:rotfl2:

Good Morning

I got up at 10 am and kids still sleeping. As it is heavy raining and I should take the kids to festival but decide not go now.:sad2:

Good morning all! Happy August 6th!

Yesterday at work, I had to do some project planning and layout projects on a calendar, looking at the number of days left in August. I don't know where time goes.

I also realized that I'm getting married in less than a month.

I made it very clear at work yesterday that the first week of September was not up for negotiation and that no, I will not consider participating in conference calls and doing email.

No one at work knows that I'm getting married, other than my boss and the head of HR.
