I finished the afghan for my nephew who will be arriving in November. :yay: We know it will be a boy and his Dad's family go hunting so they are already buying him camoflage clothes. I made a camo afghan. I DO have the permission :goodvibes of the Mom do do this as I did not want to put the time into it and have her upset. One of my mottos is "A surprise you don't want is a burden."

Aug 3: When we were in St Louis for our Anniversary we went to church near the TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM. We went there with our sons years ago so decided to drive by. As we walked to the gift shop we passed a

MULE :cool1:

one of OUR mules. (Well, not really, it was retired in the 1960s but we knew that because we went to the presentation by Captain Puckett! :thumbsup2

So, wearing my Mexican dress from Cabo I actually, willingly, posed for a photo.

Thanks, the dress hides a multitude of ..... and the mule makes my butt look smaller, that is why I posed with it.

Dress has an elastic waist on the skirt and over blouse. Very comfy but gauze fabric so NEEDS A SLIP! :scared1: (sorry guys)

And, yes, I liked the mules better in Panama. I was on VACATION :woohoo:
and I like being on vacation :cool1:

AND I WANT TO GO BACK.
Tom does not care to see the Mexican Riviera ports again, but we both would enjoy a canal day and maybe some Panama time. Would be neat to be able to say we walked on the soil there.

Did I tell you that the helper people for my laptop trouble were in Panama City? They both were pleased to know I had been in their country.

I'd love to go back to the Riviera and for sure Panama. Our kids were sad that we didn't stop there. Molly remembered it from Survior and wanted to see the land.

Don't ya find when you talk with people from places you've been there is kinship :grouphug: many people one world :grouphug:

Hmmm, :scratchin had not thought of that. I guess they could be slamming us..... I was not been this high on the list before the cruise.

Yup! But then, I talk to anyone. My family say I can talk to a tree and get it to talk back..... :rotfl:

Ouch! Well, I hope you heal soon. Take care of yourself.

i am, it was something that had to be done... im recovering right up to my birthday, when im enjoying a nice dinner around the time of fireworks at the california grill! (for the past, many years maybe 3-5 i'v celebrated my b-day at WDW)

What's Gaylean up to tonight? :confused3

Looking at Deborah's slide shows made me sad all over again about missing being on the cruise and with all of you. But, it's also a great lift, seeing everybody else's pictures of things I didn't get to see, and different perspectives of things I also have pictures of. I'm LOVING it! So, later this week, I plan on checking out EVERYBODY'S trip report and links to albums. :thumbsup2 I'm so grateful so many people have shared!

I'd better head to bed. Can hardly keep my eyes open.

What a great way to celebrate your birthday (and to celebrate successful recovery from this mess). :thumbsup2

Tornados in Chicago, wonder if Ian & Sukie are ok

We're OK. At about 8:00 PM the emergency sirens started going off. Sukie and I thought they were car alarms, but our tenants upstairs were watching TV and said that tornados were headed for the north side and that people should go into the basement.

(The sirens sound like an air raid)

So, into the basement, sirens going off, the 4 of us with 4 dogs went. On the radio they said that they had close Wrigley field and that the winds were up to 80 MPH.

We were down in basement for about a half an hour when we heard on the radio that the warning for the north side was over.

Water was coming in under the back door (which is half a flight up from the basement), but luckily not that much.

I've lived in Chicago since 1983 and have never heard the sirens go off.

It was pretty scary.

We got our internet back just a few minutes ago.

(I however think that Sukie secretly relished it, probably pretending he was in London during the blitz. I'm surprised he didn't break out into a rendition of "There'll Be Blue Birds Over the White Cliffs of Dover.")

Seriously, it was really quite tense.
