Glad you're all OK! Seems like it would be a bit exciting to be in one, but not if all your stuff gets broken. So I guess I'd only like to be in one if I were visiting, not if I lived there.

It's mostly exciting because usually they are small and don't mean anything. This one was a little scary.

Everything seems to be fine except the kids are running around crazy. I've never had to put them under the table before. The stupid part was the I stayed there making sure they didn't get out instead of getting into a door way. You never know what you'll do in certain situation.

Would it have been better for you to be in a doorway than under the table?

DL is testing for safety. Yea, my cell is down. My dis friend from San Diego said they felt it hard down there too. I think this may be bigger than 5.8 I wouldn't be surprised if it was 6.2. Thank God it was a short one. It's the long ones that do the most damage. This was a rolling earthquake, the jolts do real damage.

How many of us were in the '71 quake? Now that was a quake.

we didn't feel it at all in nor cal. It was probably cut off by the grapevine. I'd be suprised if bakersfield felt it.

How strong was that one?

When the Indiana-Illinois quake hit April 18 slept through it. We have a water bed and sleep through the movement of each other so maybe that is what it seemed like. The aftershock came when I was driving and they said it is not as noticable in a moving car unless things around you start to go.

The first quake was a 5.2 or 5.4 (depending on which source you read) but the epicenter was 165 miles southwest of us. It was felt in Chicago, middle of Michigan, Cincinnati, etc.
