Though I don't NEED to be at your lectures, they do sound like you make them interesting and I would like to be at one.:)

Britain has a huge problem with teenage drinking and I imagine the cocktail of energy drinks and alcohol if not already common would soon be a problem. As a country we are not tackling it at all.

What a lovely afternoon. Hope the drive home went well.

:scared1: Traitor. Doesn't she love us any more? Are you chatting to her there Holly?
Just a couple of messages back and forth, not much. I keep forgetting to check over there.

You know, I was describing to a co-worker all the stuff I accomplished around the house over the weekend and I realized that's more than I've probably done in months! I got way more done than I though. :thumbsup2

And now I sit......NO WORK to do again. :headache:

I guess I'll go organize my paperclips by color.

Gross. Somebody just heated up a beef sandwich and now the whole office stinks. Definitely not a normal breakfast food!

So Ian, do you have any entertaining tales yet today?

Holly...

You need a hobby... like taking all the rubber bands and making one big ball out of them... :lmao:

Hey Marilyn...

Getting better but this was a tough one...

We figured out that I actually had 2 stones... I got rid of the last one between Wed. night and Friday... BUT... after that I have been very weak. I almost feel like I did after I had one of my neck surgeries...(without the scars....) This was the worst attack I've had since the first one 3 years ago and they took me out in an ambulance for that one...

Semi funny story... with the first one... mom called 911 - by then I had already taken one of my pain meds so by the time the EMT's got there, I was almost one very happy camper... well, I couldn't stand to have anything touching me at the time so after she let them in, she ran up the stairs yelling "Cover up... they're here" I, on the other hand hadn't cared if a marching band was coming up the stairs... she grabs what ended up being a baby blanket that I was crocheting and threw that on me at the same time the head EMT came into my bedroom saying... "Ah... that's ok... you're mom's just afraid you're gonna MOON the neighbors!!!" (It's amazing what you remember when you're on pain meds...)

Just when you thought you had gotten rid of me - here I pop back in!

Sorry to hear about the accidents and the problems Angie is having with her house sell.

I got a little busy here at home and haven't had any time to check in at all.

But I am caught up on pt3 now!

We had a busy weekend here with the Billy Barker Days Festival going on. Billy Barker Days is a family festival/fair event that takes place in the middle of July every year to celebrate the Cariboo Gold rush which helped to develop this area in the mid-1800's. It starts on the Thursday evening and goes straight through to Sunday night. For a community of 20,000 (and that's being generous) it's a pretty good little festival.

On Friday I took the kids down to the park for "Kids Day" at the park where they had some little things going on specifically for the kids. My niece joined us as well.

One of the local grocery stores had "decorate a cookie" - a chocolate chip cookie you put icing on and then add your toppings of sprinkles, Smarties (CDN kind), small Kisses, and Jelly beans. Plus they gave away slices of watermelon and balloons.
I wonder how many WW points these cookies are worth?

Here are the kids making pine cone bird feeders:

Decorated Angel wings out of wet coffee filters:

Making Gold purses:

And of course gold panning to put something in those purses:

And can you have a sunny day at the park without bubbles?

And that was just Friday - Kids Day. Saturday is when the event gets into full swing and that's where we were driving the 1963 Cadillac in the parade. But I'll post those pics later.

Yeah, I could do that, but we don't really use rubber bands. OH!! I KNOW!!! I can make a chain with my paperclips and see how long it gets!

Hi Ken!!!

Was thinking that we hadn't heard from you in a bit...

Looks like EVERYONE had a great time!!!

Did they have cotton candy??? I just LOVE cotton candy...

Cotton Candy was available, of course. But my kids didn't have any. It is one of the "treats" that I don't like to get them. Too sticky still - particularly for DD3.

Ken, what a great time for your kids! Nice pics of a wonderful time. :goodvibes
