I think I can assure you that we are the only couple in the country who will be wearing what we will be wearing to get married in.

Selected with a summertime morning wedding in mind, I think I have outdone myself.

[One funny thing though, Sukie had suggested that we wear the tails. I just looked at him in shock and said, "Wear black tie to a morning affair? That simply isn't done."

Honestly, I blame all that watching of "Upstairs. Downstairs.' when I was a teenager.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm so sorry I'm going to miss this portion of the festivities!

I received an email today from someone who was on our cruise, though not part of our DIS group.

Some of you may remember Dougy and JP. Dougy had a big white beard, and dressed in full kilts on formal night.

They were another couple, and we spent a fair bit of time with them, socializing, etc.

Dougy sent me this You Tube video of him, in the international Santa Claus Conference that was held this month:

I remember him! Also remember seeing photos of them in your pictures file. What fun that conference must have been.

.

Ah Holly, but sometimes you just gotta vent!

And good morning to you too, Marilyn!

Time to cook breakfast and make another phone call.
Yup, just venting. I think I've had so many struggles with his dad, every little thing just sets me off. I guess I just felt like he thinks I don't have common sense enough to read the information that comes with the prescription. Best to just keep my mouth shut and when he asks if I read his email, I'll just tell him I haven't checked email yet today. :thumbsup2

What a bummer. Tyler knows the county fair is coming this week because his weekly field trip with the school this week is to the fair. He realizes he might not get to ride many rides because of how many kids there are, so he asked if I could take him one day. I told him of course I would, but I just checked the fair schedule and it runs Monday through Saturday. Most fairs have a full weekend. This means the only chance we have to go is Saturday after 5 next weekend, which is fine, but I hate only having one shot because if it's raining all day that day, there will be no other chance to go. Well, I guess we could skip karate on Monday and go a little bit after work, and I'd just have to hope I can get him up the next morning on time.

Hey Shannon, if you're out there reading, you were wondering about taking your girls to Mama Mia. I found a review on movieguide.org (http://www.movieguide.org/index.php?s=reviews&id=7832). I found a link to their site on CBN.com. Here's part of what they say:

Content:
(RoRoRo, FeFe, HoHo, Pa, LLL, SS, N, AA, DD, M) Very strong hippy Romantic worldview with strong feminist view where girl searches for her father who could be one of three men because her mother slept around at the time she was conceived, plus some solid homosexual references, including men kiss and want to “get married” and there are pagan references to a Greek goddess; 6 obscenities and at least 48 profanities (two strong); some pratfalls, but no serious violence; constant discussion of sex by women and, to a lesser degree, by men in wedding party, during one song woman places mock phallus between her legs, woman slides down banister hurting herself, young African American man tries to have relationship with older woman, who mocks “going down” on him, one person turns out to be homosexual, and two men kiss; brief rear male nudity, some upper male nudity and low cut dresses; lots of alcohol use, some to get drunk; drug references; and, lying and deception.Summary:
MAMMA MIA! is the movie version of the hit Broadway musical about a young woman trying to discover the identity of her father. The hit Broadway musical has not been translated well into a movie and suffers from not only uneven direction, but a lack of a moral direction, including a very strong Romantic worldview with too many crude sex references.

However, I sure want to see Mama Mia! :goodvibes I've heard it's great! I also want to see Jouney to the Center of the Earth.

Speaking of movies, I SOOOOOOOO wanted to see the X-Files movie last night after work but forgot! I was hooked on the show when it was on tv and still really miss it. Loved the first movie, and sure I'll love this one too. Hmmm.......might be able to catch it today before I pick Tyler up. Need to check movie times. :goodvibes

We saw a clip and it was hysterical! Right now it is up for appeal with the MPAA as it currently has an NC-17 rating. Hopefully the appeal gets it an R so nothing else needs to be cut.

It's scheduled for release on Oct 31.

That will be my halloween treat! His movies are hysterical. I'm over 17 so either way i'll see it.

Although I'd love to treat myself to a movie, I think I'll hang around inside being a couch potato today, and will save the movie-going for when Tyler's with me (different movie, of course). Possibly Journey to the Center of the Earth or Space Chimps. I'll let him decide. Yeah, that's the plan.....movie tonight and aquatic park tomorrow. :thumbsup2 http://www.michigan.org/property/Detail.aspx?p=B261

He loves the frog slide they have there. :goodvibes

We're planning to wear the same outfits to whatever it is Nan and Kelly have planned over the weekend.

How could we possibly deny people seeing us reach a new height of debonaire oddness?

Oh, I sure hope somebody will post lots of pics so those of us who can't go can see! Can't wait! :goodvibes

Those of us back home will be waiting with bated breath for the pics to be on here!!

I had a '99 Cougar. A far cry from a T-bird. Slipped a rod and blew the engine. Still sitting in my driveway in fact. Not sure if I want to sell it or blow the savings fund and put a new engine in it. I'm sure Shannon is just wanting me to "get rid of the damned thing".

Yes get rid of it!

However, I sure want to see Mama Mia! :goodvibes I've heard it's great! I also want to see Jouney to the Center of the Earth.

Thanks for info Holly! The internet lied and told me the movie was going to be here, but it wasn't  So instead of a going to see it last night, we went to the park for a picnic instead.

Thanks everybody for the well wishes for my job interview. I did the behavioural interview yesterday and I think it went okay. At least I feel like I did the best I could. Now I have to wait to see if I move on to the psychological interview part - they actually do some pysch tests and an interview with a psychologist, who will give them a report on me.

This afternoon its off to Home Depot for a kitchen design meeting!

Oh, how exciting!!! I hope he likes Disney and cruising!!

Marilyn... it's gonna be tough to get him to take the time for anything...but we will be working in LA alot so I may try to sneak in some time at DL... Him kicking and screaming maybe... but if he loves me... :lovestruc (he'll give me his credit card and let me go wild at World of Disney!!!) :rotfl2:

Does Sukie remember saying "I will never wear this thing ever again???" I believe it was during the 3rd wearing of the bow ties... ;)

Hope you can see the Police. Sting steals the show.

The new singer for Journey is awesome.

I recently saw Ann & Nancy Wilson (of Heart). They rock!

Woody

Good to know... Thanks Woody!!!

He'll wear what I tell him to wear and bloody well like it.

(As if he has a choice).

Actually, he really likes what I've picked out and is showing all the restraint he can because he wants to wear it now.

We took a stroll up the street and went to see Dark Knight this afternoon.

It was funny watching it because it was shot in Chicago, there are scenes that take place outside the building I work in.

I found the scene with the ferry boats interesting. I wonder where they came from and how much it cost to pilot them over to Chicago on the lakes from wherever they came from.

I was wondering if they were ferries from up around Mackinac, or, were they brought down from Canada, because we don't have any ferries here like that on the lake.
