We had a two for the price of one on drinks on one cruise--if they did it on the PC Crossing, I missed it--and I got two flutes of MARTINI and ROSSI ASTI in Rockin Bar D during a scavenger hunt game. I carried one to dinner. How is that different from filling the glass in one's stateroom and carrying it to dinner?

However, if you have your moonshine in an earthenware jug resting on your shoulder so you can catch a swig as you walk to Palo, maybe that would be considered rude. :confused3

But is it rude to be carrying that jug?
or is it rude to be swigging as you walk along? :drinking1:
or is it rude to lose your grip and drop it on someone's kid? :scared1:

Jan

It's only rude to carry a jug if you do not pass it around the room so everyone can have a swig.

what's up my cruising peeps?

Samamtha had her K assessment today....I took her to my office before hand just because....it was quite funny...everyone was oh she's going into second grade right? Ummmm no!

then poor Haley, my dad sent S a Disney back pack...now Haley wants a packpack (as she calls them)

anyway hope everyone is well, I am on a not sleeping binge,,,,,,,,,,,,,a bad thing.
V, what do they do at a K assessment? Just curious. Cute about Haley and the "packpack"! :goodvibes I hope you managed to get some sleep.

Yup, it's a gift! ::yes::

Seriously, if you look busy when clients come in, it presents a good appearance that the firm is busy and productive. Your voice on the phone and your appearance at the desk do make a difference. Even reading the DIS, the client sees you working at a computer not filing your nails.

When considering a job, it is wise to consider all the angles and the perks you have may be the deal breaker here. Only you can decide. :thumbsup2

BEST WISHES!

Jan :goodvibes
Yes, I'm trying to look at all angles. The place where I interviewed offers no flexibility for the things I take time off work for with Tyler. They're such a busy office, they need everybody there all the time. That was one thing they stressed. In fact, one secretary was hired on a temporary basis for part-time, working 3 days a week. She's been there 2 months and has worked full-time from the start because they're so busy. But, on the other hand, if I get the job, that's one more secretary doing the work, so it should ease the workload on everybody and not be so intense. But then again, since Tyler's dad never can take off work for school things, as he usually is working out of town, it's nice for me to be able to zip over to the school for whatever's going on, and then back to work. I think it's important for Tyler to have at least one parent who can be there because each time I go to any event, the kids with no parents there are always very sad that their parents couldn't come. I don't know, it's a toughy.

:thumbsup2 Only you can decide which is best for you and for Tyler :yay:
More money does not buy you more time with your son.
Exactly. And time is what he needs right now with all his issues going on.

Good morning Ian & Robert (and Jan if you're still here) and good afternoon Marilyn!

Gee, it looks like Jan stayed up most of the night getting caught up on here! :rotfl2:

Well, I suppose I'd better head out to work. It's nice......I'm supposed to start at 8:30, but nobody notices if I get there late. I often roll in around 8:45 or 8:40, but nobody pays any attention. The attorneys usually don't come in until 9 or 9:30 and the office manager doesn't get in until 9. It's a very laid back place. :thumbsup2

YUP and it was not the brightest plan ever. I am tired, have three clients to see and maybe 30 miles to drive before I get home again.

I need a head shaking smilie--like "what was I THINKING??

But it WAS fun to get caught up!!

Jan :confused3

Geez am I behind.

I'm not even sure if I could catch up if I tried.

Funny part is before the cruise I was the one keeping up to date on everything and keeping Shannon informed as to what is going on around here.

Now post-cruise (why do I have to stifle a cry when I use that word??) Shannon is the one keeping me up to date on here as I am seriously slacking on keeping up.

I'm not posting much because of work and summertime events - but I am being kept abreast of everything.

My aunt spoke to her travel agent who said the inside word for DCL in 2010 is back to the Med. Now I'm not sure I would put much faith in that TA as she wasn't very reliable for my aunt this past trip, but we shall see.

SO if that is the case - is it a Med cruise or the transatlantic that we do? Eastbound or Westbound? I'm kinda inclined to do the Westbound because it will be longer (time zone changes)... ;)

Now back to dealing with my toothache ... oh yeah and work too

Hi Ken. Nice to see you popping in. Hope the toothache clears up. or you get treatment!!!

Don't be a stranger.

Jan, you NUT! :rotfl2: Then you'll go to sleep early tonight and get behind again. :lmao:

I can't believe how tired I am. Had a 2 hour nap yesterday after work, then went to bed earlier than usual, and still had trouble waking up today. I'm struggling to keep from falling asleep at my desk at work today. I do need to mow my yard today, but think instead I'll just go to bed right after dinner and see if that takes care of this sleep phase.

Poor Tyler got horribly sunburned yesterday. The field trip with the school was to a water park from 9am to 5:30pm. I sent sunscreen with him (the kind Jan let me try on the cruise that doesn't cause him to break out - NoAd). I stressed the necessity for him to have it and also to have it reapplied frequently because he's so fair. Tyler says a teacher put some on him before they left the school in the morning and THAT'S IT. I normally don't burn, but even I would get burned after that many hours in a pool in the sun! I learned all this because his dad e-mailed me this morning telling me how furious he is with the school and stepmom really lit into the teachers this morning when she dropped Tyler off. She left Solarcaine (or somthing similar for sunburns) with the teacher and told them to put it on whenever he says it hurts. He didn't sleep most of the night because it was so sore, and that was with having cold & wet towels on to cool him. :sad2: Poor kid.

Michelle, I'm confused. I thought you left for the lake yesterday until Friday and I thought you said there was no internet there. What's up?

Hey Holly...

It's a bit stormy up here right now so I hauled my tush up to the library where I have to sell my first child if I ever have one for 30 minutes of internet time - I had to throw a kid off the computer to get it...

I like Planky's posts, I do not enjoy the posts of some of the imposters. They seem angry or schizo or .... something...

Planky is hot for Tammy and there are times....but it is funny.:rotfl:

Jan

Thanks Jan... I'll tell the little green guy as soon as I get home...

For your mum and thought she would like it

Love it Deborah... Thanks!!!

I'd better start making the most out of being 52.

HEY EVERYONE....

7 DAYS!!!!

AND UM... 10 FOR ME!!!!

I have a bit of a dilemma, one of the guys who reports to me bought a house a few months ago.

He and his friends are planning a party this coming Saturday night.

He is 24 and his friends range from 22 to 24.

He REALLY wants me to come his party. My whole team has been pestering me to come to this party. My team ranges from 24 to 26 year olds.

For some reason it is a really big deal for them that I show up. It seems really important to Ed that I come to his party and he nags me about it several times a day, and keeps promising me that it will be "awesome."

(I am not quite sure how I became the leader of the "lost boys.")

To make matters worse, I live on the northside, and his house is on the southside near Midway airport. It's over an hour away from me, and the party starts at 6PM.

I really don't know what to do. I really don't want to go, but this seems so important to him.

I have no clue why these guys are so attached to me. It's like I'm their surrogate father or something. In fact, Ed's father is only 3 months older than me.

I mean do I really want to go to a wild house party with a bunch of 22 to 26 year old boys (and don't anybody dare make a comment about that), just to make these guys happy?

Maybe they need a chaparone???? :confused3

I'm exhausted and am going off to bed.

Since I don't know what's going on with this wedding. I just wanted to show you an example of they type of wedding cake I don't want:

Kelly... Nan...

CANCEL THE CAKE!!!!!

SO DID YOU GUYS KNOW:

That is is, "wrong, unethical, bendiing rules and/or rude".....to carry in a glass of your own wine to dinner on the ship? (But apparently not any other location on the ship.)

I didn't........

.

We always went to the Promenade Lounge and got a drink before we went to dinner and I always felt bad about it. After a few days I realized that we were still ordering a lot more drinks than most so I stopped feeling bad. I didn't bring any wine on the ship so I didn't bring it from my room but how did they know that I got it from the Promenade lounge and not from my room?

Oh.....I'm not actually sick.....:rolleyes1

Really, was just super tired and achy this am and needed some down time. Should have gone in after having lunch with Peg, but instead I came back home and napped. So I guess I must have needed it.

HEY YOU GUYS....back up and see post #2245....I need some reaction here.

.

I commented and then backed up so I won't say anymore ;)

I would say to go to the party for awhile but it is far. Maybe you could plan other stuff on that side of town that day and just pop in for a few drinks and food. It might not be that bad. I have a lot of friends that are my parents age or a little younger. Maybe I'm annoying to them but I like hanging out with them :rolleyes1

Says who???

People did it every night and nobody said anything as far as I knew... Most did it to avoid the corking fee... how were they to know you didn't just get a drink before waiting to enter and brought it with them. It's done in restaurants all the time...
