Just a quick check-in.

Last night at the party I won a free day off! :woohoo: So I'm taking tomorrow off since I have a 9am Dr. appointment and will be in Scottsdale, shopping capitol of the valley. :thumbsup2 (no lump of coal, Ian)

....later kids.....

.

That's an awesome prize to win Jackie. Enjoy it. Shop till you drop tomorrow after the doctor. Tis the season!

Now .. wouldn't it had been fun had we gone away in a couple of weeks as originally planned and Cheri was here? With the dogs, the shovels and the salt?

I promise I would have shown her a good spot to make snow angels.

Speaking of which, there are developments in the North-South West Eastwood Canal we dug in the summer.

Sukie has reported that the trench we dug is now filled up with ice. He can verify this because he slipped on it and fell down taking the trash out to the alley yesterday.

Though he also slipped and fell down twice on his way to the supermarket yesterday.

I'm beginning to believe that he just enjoys slipping and falling down, considering how often he does it.

It make me happy that after all these years, he's finally found something he's really good at.

:lmao: :rotfl2: I am sorry but this made me laugh so hard I cried.

Jan-Congrats on the new granddaughter

Deb- I wish I was at the beach. Only 1.5 more weeks!

Holly- I hope TYler loves his new school.

I have had a hard week but it is slowly getting better. I got better grades than I thought this semester (A's) and they finally registered me for my classes I needed. However work made things worse yesterday. I told them of my problems with the schedule next week and the blew me off basically saying they didn't have time to deal with it. But they sure had time to gossip with each other. Looks like I will talk to upper management Sat. or call in next week. Sat after I get off Matt is taking me somewhere (its a surprise) all I know is I have to pack an overnight bag.

On a lighter note I have only 2 more gifts to buy. My mom and I have been shopping everyday this week. Tomorrow Matt and I are taking my step-dad shopping so he can buy my moms gifts. He was depressed since he can't drive and he couldn't get her things without her knowing. She and my sister will stay at home. He loves buying presents so it should be fun!

Hi Jill, Hi All.

We just got back from dinner at a Greek restaurant. It was authentic food just the way my mother would make it and it was sooooooo good. Then we went to a liquor store. John just popped the cork on a bottle of....yes.....champagne. It's something called Varichon & Clerc Brut. It's really good. Yum! He got himself a bottle of Harlequin Orange Liquor. It's like Grand Marnier. (sp?) We're sitting in our hotel room with the door open to the ocean after sunset in December and it's beautiful.....not cold. Amazing!

We're going to skip the meet and greet tonight and stay in. John is exhausted. He only had a 4 hour nap today. He needs to get to bed early. We're going to try to get reservations tomorrow for Paula Dean's restaurant in Savannah. Wish us luck. You have to show up there in person at 8:30am and wait for an hour and then you can get a ressie. Right now we're thinking about going in the morning before family day on base. We'll see how the morning goes. Hopefully we can make it.

Isn't John pining away for some shoveling?

I keep cracking up driving around town and seeing all the palm trees decorated with christmas lights......green, red, multi, white.....it's too weird to me.....evergreens and snow.....that's christmas to me.....no swimming or sunglasses on christmas day.

I don't know what's wrong with me:

- My heart isn't pounding
- My head doesn't hurt
- I don't feel tired

Could it be that this is what it feels like to not be stressed? What an odd feeling!

It's incredible how laid back everything is at work this week. I actually left at 4:45 and caught a 5pm train.

Tomorrow the weather promises to hold a veritable festival of winter delights ... freezing rain in the morning, followed by snow. That should make the walk home and the shoveling more wonderful than I could possibly stand.

I should once again stress, that so far, this is the worst winter I have seen in about 25 years.

Friday night I'm going out with my pups for dinner. Sukie and I were going to run errands tomorrow night, but if that's what the weather holds, we'll go over the weekend.

We are planning to buy some goodies for our time at home during the week. We're planning on spending Federal Holiday Eve at home all cozy, and Federal Holiday Day, at home working on a jig saw puzzle and eating things we shouldn't be eating. Perhaps there'll be some good Federal Holiday movies on satellite.

My group picked a rather expensive restaurant for dinner on Friday night, and as I said last week, this is a big night for them because they are looking forward to getting the boss drunk.

They actually think I'm rather staid, boy if they only knew.

How crumby of them to ignore you and blow you off.

Do you think you'll get anywhere with upper management?

Does Betty Crocker hand out mom awards.

We can nominate her, can't we???

Put a couple of ice skates on him and we can rent him out for parties...

Very good!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

.
Thanks to everyone for the Congrats. We are all thrilled :)

She was due on Christmas so her middle name is a diminutive of Natasha--TOSHA--which means BORN ON CHRISTMAS.

But there were some medical concerns so it was a scheduled c-section 9 days earlier and all the problems were avoided.

AND she was born in BETHLEHEM
Pennsylvania

 SOPHIA TOSHA

An early Christmas gift... :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Hi All....I'm sitting here in the hotel room with the back door open to the ocean. It's warm and sunny and there's palm trees. How nice. When we left it was snowing and then icing then raining. We went from winter to spring overnight. We left PA at 8pm and John drove straight thru the night and we arrived in SC at 9:30am.....not bad considering the weather. It's normally a 12 hour ride that we did in 13 and a half hours. We also had two stops along the way.

We ate breakfast when we got to the hotel and then the room was ready at 10:30am so we checked in. John is sleeping now. DSIL Jane and DNephew Casey are due to arrive some time early evening. DBrother will arrive tomorrow morning. Tristan's girlfriend will also be here with her dad. It will be just one big happy family. I'll take pictures and post them afterwards to share with everyone.

Glad to hear you arrived safely... :goodvibes Enjoy the family!!!

Who exactly is this "Jackie" person?

I'm beginning to wonder... and worry... she keeps following you around Ian...;)

:lmao: :rotfl2: I am sorry but this made me laugh so hard I cried.

What??? No ADR's??? What was that woman thinking???

Be careful on the way home... it's supposed to be very messy up here in the next couple of days...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: John says he doesn't shovel....he drives big truck and makes kids and grandkids shovel.

Tell John to send them to Chicago. They can shovel till their hearts content.

As a matter of fact, the offer is open to anyone, to come and shovel. You don't even have to pay me.

If you're really good, I'll let you use the big orange contractor's bucket from Home Depot and spread salt. I'll even throw in a new zip lock container for scooping and sprinkling the salt.

Jill, what a great surprise Matt is planning. I wonder where he's taking you.....an overnight bag.....it's gotta be good. I can't wait to hear all about it. Have Fun!

Ian, sounds like a wonderful weekend spent at home with Sukie......oh and the dinner with the pups getting you drunk on Friday night. At least Sukie doesn't fall in the house so he won't be all bruised and look like you abuse him. hahaha!:thumbsup2

So I have to send you a Federal Holiday card??? I wonder if they make those...

And tell them that we have pictures... proof... of course so does some woman from Spain... :rotfl:

How crumby of them to ignore you and blow you off.

Do you think you'll get anywhere with upper management?

Ian... write her a note please...

Just TELL them Gaylean. That's what I did a few years ago. I told people before Thanksgiving, "Just so you all know, I'm only buying gifts for kids this year because I just can't afford to get for everybody". It took a couple times of telling people on Christmas, "Oh, you shouldn't have gotten a gift for me, I TOLD you I was only buying for kids this year" and they eventually got it. Some still buy for everybody, and that's fine if they're able, but everybody knows I only buy for kids and all are fine with that. :thumbsup2

I'm too nice for that. That is my worst fault in my opinion. I'm only mean when I don't need to be :lmao: I hate confrontation.

Hey Deb... just wait until he gets home...

The pups will be waiting at the door with is slippers and tylenol...

Can T&T open bottles Ian???

By the way ... I'm sitting in the basement contemplating divorce.

I came home from work today, and Sukie was wearing ... leg warmers.

I shut the front door quickly and hoped the neighbors didn't see him.

I thought he might have been abducted by aliens and the leg warmers were clamped on him as a homing device, but he assured me that he got them in a store.

Rather, I should say he walked into a store and paid for them.

I don't know what to think.

When people get old, do they suddenly start craving leg warmers?

Who around here is old and feeble enough to ask?

It has always been Tallulah's lament that she was not born with an opposable finger.
