Okay, we just had the shock of our lives....

Don is at church and the girls and I are in bed trying to stay warm. (I know it is only 8pm...but we are watching TV)

The doorbell rings and I do NOT want to answer, but the girls make me. So in my PJ's I go answer the door.

We won the prettiest entry way in our neighorhood. HAHA....I WAS SHOCKED!!

We got a beautiful wreath with the award annnounced on it and $50 to Outback Steak House.....

When I came home, our house was in the local paper (weekly edition)....and the girls were happy about that....so now we have the prettiest...

Maybe I can charge $15,000 for 4 days for the inauguration

leg warmers were a staple of mine, in high school.....BUT it was a performing arts high school and most of the time they weren't slouched but were stretched all the way over my thighs to actually keep my muscles warm.

We like Hilton Head Island....it's beautiful here and the people are very friendly and helpful. It's nice.

It's almost 9pm here and it's 61F degrees. High for the day tomorrow is going to be 78F degrees. NO SNOW, NO RAIN, JUST SUN!

The joy of winter. It warmed up a bit today, we made it to -16C (3F) and I came home from work to find the waterlines that were frozen had actually thawed out

I think we have colder weather than Holly and Ian, but we've been getting less snow so far this year, just what we have gotten is staying. We never have snow days, just occasionally schools closed because it gets too cold, but that's rare.

CONGRATS Gramma Jan! I bet you're looking forward to seeing your new granddaughter

I was excited yesterday to come home to 3 christmas cards in the mail! And I finally got into the post office today and mailed mine, so there's a slim possibility the US ones will arrive by "Federal Holiday" but Marilyn's and Deborah's will definitely be late.

I came home from work today, and Sukie was wearing ... leg warmers.

I wore legwarmers in the 80's. They were great in the winter, kept parts of me warm and were fashionable (but what an ugly look)

Well... I was up at 2:30am on the phone with my niece Emma... it seems that this week has finally caught up with her... Dad's passing, final exams and she broke up with her $&#* head boyfriend...

She then said she was glad I wasn't a "Normal" Aunt - I asked her could she imagine me as a normal Aunt and she said NO!!! A normal Aunt wouldn't be there for her in the middle of the night...

Everybody needs an un-normal Aunt! Glad to hear you were able to help Emma and she helped you feel good too

I think you are bragging It is now raining inside the house I am happy that my interview is over, even though I don't think I did well (I never do).

I am also happy that soon I will be at Jon's Christmas party, sipping on a Bellini and buying his director double vodkas

You probably did better than you think, and every interview is an experience to help prepare you for the next one! (isn't that a good supportive line )

Yup, just get little bits of snow. We got about an inch yesterday afternoon, at -18C. Everytime the car stays parked for a while, there's a skiff of snow on it, from any moisture in the air that's dropping out. Its a very nice fine, powder fluff

Time to go decorate the sports tree for the rec room. Its just a little one, but makes me happy. I'll have to get Ken to take some pictures of the decorations and lights outside on Friday so I can share. Tomorrow is Kaleigh's Christmas party in the morning and daycare and Shaelyn's Christmas concert at school in the afternoon and evening. My boss said I can leave work to go see them in the daytime! Hopefully Ken makes it home in time for the evening concert.

My families did a name draw a couple times, but now nobody really does. We just buy for the kids now, so that makes life easy.

When our kids were little, and we lived in Illinois, we exchanged names between the cousins ( the kids) and the brothers and sisters( the grownups).

It was fun. Now the family is all grown up and scattered. we don't do it anymore.

Hello everybody! I'm tired of this cold weather crap. Yesterday I forgot to bring the cord to plug the van in at work, and by the end of the day it was dead. OH, my, I am so glad I don't live where you have to plug in your car! .
