Good Morning Everyone (and I suppose Nan)!

I was out of bed 30 minutes earlier today and have shoveled and salted. Actually, that only took me about 15 minutes.

As I predicted, it was colder than it was yesterday.

I really don't mind winter all that much, but this year, so far, has been the worst I can remember in about 20 years.

I guess I'll have to suit up again to go to work. The one thing I don't like are all the layers of clothing. I have to start getting ready to leave the house 7n minutes earlier, just because of all the clothing.

Yesterday, as I was toddling down the icy street towards the bus stop, I suddenly thought of Randy in "Christmas Story." If I had slipped on the ice, I wonder if I could have gotten up.

Today, I'll have to put on boots.

7 minutes is good. I had to fight with Brooke for 30 minutes because she didn't want to wear tights under her dress. Thank goodness we don't live in the snow.

Well... I was up at 2:30am on the phone with my niece Emma... it seems that this week has finally caught up with her... Dad's passing, final exams and she broke up with her $&#* head boyfriend...

She then said she was glad I wasn't a "Normal" Aunt - I asked her could she imagine me as a normal Aunt and she said NO!!! A normal Aunt wouldn't be there for her in the middle of the night...

Were they Santa cookies? Maybe you could pass them off as Satan cookies?

Cookie Crisps?

They were gingerbread men made out of sugar cookies but they looked more like gingerbread :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Tell John to send them to Chicago. They can shovel till their hearts content.

As a matter of fact, the offer is open to anyone, to come and shovel. You don't even have to pay me.

If you're really good, I'll let you use the big orange contractor's bucket from Home Depot and spread salt. I'll even throw in a new zip lock container for scooping and sprinkling the salt.

I'll get right on that and get them a plane ticket to your door.....but you have to FEED them.....way more than you bargained for I'm sure!

By the way ... I'm sitting in the basement contemplating divorce.

I came home from work today, and Sukie was wearing ... leg warmers.

I shut the front door quickly and hoped the neighbors didn't see him.

I thought he might have been abducted by aliens and the leg warmers were clamped on him as a homing device, but he assured me that he got them in a store.

Rather, I should say he walked into a store and paid for them.

I don't know what to think.

When people get old, do they suddenly start craving leg warmers?

Who around here is old and feeble enough to ask?

Are they "antique" ones he got at the thrift store???

I'd ask Mom but she remembers the days when she wore pants under her skirt when walking to school uphill... both ways... barefoot... and then sneaking into the girls room and taking them off and hiding them in her book bag...

I did leg warmers... but that was in the '80's and I'm trying to forget alot of that time...

It has always been Tallulah's lament that she was not born with an opposable finger.

Coat the bottle with cheese or something and she can chew through the restraints...

If she did, I wouldn't get it. I didn't tell you the cookies were burned :lmao:

Were they Santa cookies? Maybe you could pass them off as Satan cookies?

Cookie Crisps?

Charcoal...

7 minutes is good. I had to fight with Brooke for 30 minutes because she didn't want to wear tights under her dress. Thank goodness we don't live in the snow.

You'd have to start the night before...

BTW.. Ian... my bright orange Home Depot bucket froze last winter and it's a gonner...

But I do have 25 lbs of ice melt in the garage left over from last year...

We're expecting about 2 more feet by Xmas eve...

I may be doing Xmas in NY...

And I think I'm going to get the makings of chowder for this weekend...

Hey Ian...

If you come home and Sukie is playing the soundtrack to Flashdance... have him looked at... OK?? Please...

Hi Jill, Hi All.

We just got back from dinner at a Greek restaurant. It was authentic food just the way my mother would make it and it was sooooooo good. Then we went to a liquor store. John just popped the cork on a bottle of....yes.....champagne. It's something called Varichon & Clerc Brut. It's really good. Yum! He got himself a bottle of Harlequin Orange Liquor. It's like Grand Marnier. (sp?) We're sitting in our hotel room with the door open to the ocean after sunset in December and it's beautiful.....not cold. Amazing!

We're going to skip the meet and greet tonight and stay in. John is exhausted. He only had a 4 hour nap today. He needs to get to bed early. We're going to try to get reservations tomorrow for Paula Dean's restaurant in Savannah. Wish us luck. You have to show up there in person at 8:30am and wait for an hour and then you can get a ressie. Right now we're thinking about going in the morning before family day on base. We'll see how the morning goes. Hopefully we can make it.

I think you are bragging :snooty: It is now raining inside the house :scared: I am happy that my interview is over, even though I don't think I did well (I never do).

I am also happy that soon I will be at Jon's Christmas party, sipping on a Bellini and buying his director double vodkas :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

No even worse! They are ... new!

Yes ... "they" walk among us, and they are manufacturing leg warms.

Which even more frightening means there is a market demand for leg warmers.

No they are back :scared: I see them everywhere and I'm not sure what people are thinking. The other bad thing is stir-up pants :scared: They are making stir-up leg warmers :scared: :scared:

I'm glad she has you. My niece's grandma died last week and I called her at 1:00 am to tell her I was sorry and she was sleeping because she had finals in the morning. What sophmore in college is sleeping at 1:00 am :lmao: :lmao:

I don't think the pictures will let us forget. Plus there is the empty aqua net bottles as evidence.

Here's the pool at the hotel.

Here's the kiddie pool to the left of the big pool.

We like Hilton Head Island....it's beautiful here and the people are very friendly and helpful. It's nice.

Go figure. I missed another fashion trend.

My daughters both wear leg warmers to dance ballet....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Saw-wee.....I'm glad that your interview is over too and I'm sure that you did good.

Bellini's are fun....we love those.

Okay, we just had the shock of our lives....

Don is at church and the girls and I are in bed trying to stay warm. (I know it is only 8pm...but we are watching TV)

The doorbell rings and I do NOT want to answer, but the girls make me. So in my PJ's I go answer the door.

We won the prettiest entry way in our neighorhood. HAHA....I WAS SHOCKED!!

We got a beautiful wreath with the award annnounced on it and $50 to Outback Steak House.....

When I came home, our house was in the local paper (weekly edition)....and the girls were happy about that....so now we have the prettiest...

Maybe I can charge $15,000 for 4 days for the inauguration :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
