Cheri - Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks. We think it's often underrated because there are not as many "rides." It is one of the most detailed parks I think Disney has done and there are so many little details that go unnoticed.

If you go back, while Dinoland can sometimes be overlooked, keep an eye out for the graffiti and sight-gags planted around by the "grad students" who work at the "research institute."

We totally agree. We love AK! A few years ago we took the Wild By Design tour which went into all the details - for example if you look at the imprints in the path you don't see footprints until you get to the back as well as bike tire tracks too. The front (Oasis) only has natural marks - leaves, etc. also the pavillions behind flame tree bbq are all predatror/prey in design - example the pavillion with anteaters along the poles has ants painted all over. I definitely recommend the tour if you get the chance - does not go backstage at all.

Well, I've read the few pages since yesterday, but am too tired to respond. Super busy day. I had a doctor appointment at 7:45am, then I had to meet Tyler's dad at 9am at the school down the road from Tyler's to take a tour and hope he would decide to agree to let Tyler be moved (he did, as he was really impressed with their program), then I got to work at 10:30, had to take my lunch from 12:30-1:30, then had to leave work at 2 for Tyler's 2:20 doctor appointment (just a med check, doc says to continue as we've been), then back to work at 3. Then after work I had to go to Walmart to pick up my Christmas cards and there and Target and Toys R Us for a particular gift for Tyler, gave up and came home to order it online. :thumbsup2 Managed to get home 2 minutes before Survivor, then have been doing my online shopping and catching up on e-mails. NOW I'm finally headed to sleep! This day is finally over! :goodvibes

I have a little shopping to do tomorrow after work (after a "girls' night out" dinner), then will be able to RELAX! I'll definitely have time to be more chatty tomorrow night. ;)

Phew, I'm worn out reading that Holly!!!:lmao:

Well, looks like we are always in a different park to Cherie!!

At the Flametree all of the chairs have preditors and the table tops have prey. (LOVE the look of the place!!!!!!)

I'm on the bus to DHS...Elaine is going to Cocoa beach for the day. "bragging alert" (for you Gayleen): I momentarily felt a twinge of sadness when I realized we were checking out tomorrow...and then I remembered that I'M GETTING ON THE SHIP!!!!!! Wheeeeeeeee!

We don't have any plans, other than some cozy long weekends.

Sukie likes New Year's Eve, while I personally don't. I find New Years Eve parties a bit depressing. Some years we had a few friends over, and some we've gone out clubbing (public transportion is free in Chicago from about 6:00 PM onward until about 4:00 AM in Chicago on New Years Eve).

Most recently we've been staying in. I think that's what we'll be doing again this year.

I think they need transportation in every state. We will be taking a cab home, on this Saturday, from my friend's house that lives maybe two or three miles away. It seems like useless but we know it is necessary.

HI GAYLEAN!!! I hope you pass your test despite thinking you won't;)

We have only been in Epcot at the same time and I was so sure we would see Cherie, but no! I decided she must not be there.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We aren't New Year people at all and usually miss midnight.:) I'm just glad when everybody gets back to work after the long break. Many businesses close the period between Christmas and New Year. It is a long time to have folk out wandering around the shops, particularly MEN!!!:scared:

I have to quote everything you said today

I did not pass the test. Oh well. I applied for three other positions and two of them I want more.

I think we might see from pictures from Cheri. If not, you are right and she isn't really there :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I love New Year's Eve and we never go out because for some reason people don't like to babysit on that day :confused3 It is also my anniversary so we are never alone on our anniversary. I know it is my fault I got married on that day but I didn't think that far ahead. We usually have friends over but now most of our friends have kids or they are pregnant now so I'm not sure what will happen this year. It may be nice to be a family one year. Just the four of us drinking sparkling cider and sitting by the fire. Well that would depend on the weather.

Good Morning Earthlings (and Nan)!

It is a balmy 8F this morning here in Chicago. We're going to have a heat wave today. It is supposed to warm up to 26F.

Very happy that it's Friday, though I will probably have to write some performance reviews this weekend.

I did manage to write one yesterday, and my hope is to do at least one today if not two. That means I might have as many as 3 or as little as 1 to write this weekend.

---------------------

I think I'm almost ready for Sunday and my WW meetings.

I had an idea this morning. I might put together a set of menus for 1 week that require no cooking other than opening packages and heating up food.

I'm going to go for a target of 20 points a day and no cooking, to see what I can come up with.

No cooking? That's no fun. How will you sneak in extra points while tasting the food to see if it is yummy :rolleyes1

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Now you are bragging ;) How can you miss Marilyn? I couldn't hide from her on the ship :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks Michelle. I got the Christmas list a few times now :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Not for me ... we cook. But I'd like to see what a menu would be look like for a week for someone who doesn't want to cook at all (other than heating things in a microwave).

Marilyn, you should feel privileged because I have never sent a Christmas card this early before  I haven't gotten the picture to send yet so I will just not send it to anyone and post it on here instead :goodvibes

I really think it is a good idea because I know a few people that went to Jenny Craig because the food was prepared. Plus I wouldn't mind having stuff around the house for when Jon has to provide the meal.

Good Morning All.....

IT'S FRIDAY.

On Saturday we are going to see Cheech & Chong Light Up America at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk. And we are going here for dinner.

I like to cook too, but on some days I just want to relax when we get home from work. And I want something quick and easy for dinner, but don't just want to have the Lean Cuisine type frozen dinners. So if you could share what you come up with Ian, I would love you forever. :worship:

Will do, but I think it's how you turn a Lean Cuisine into a filling meal without busting the bank on points that's the trick. I think it can be done.

What got me thinking about it was my breakfast.

I always have a 4 point breakfast.

Well 2 slices of regular toast can be 4 points.

Instead I have:

- Lower sugar maple oatmeal - 2 points
- Light English muffin - 1 point
- 2 fat free cheddar slices - 1 point

Total = 4 points

A much more satisfying breakfast for the same points value.

Or you could replace the oatmeal with an egg and have an egg & cheese muffin.

Is Michael in his first year at Duke Law School? If so, I think he would like a gift certificate to buy some clothes for interviews/summer position.

Woody

Yes, that's a good idea, too. We did buy him a new suit just before he went to school for his photo at school. He actually just sent off his first letter to request an internship....in CHICAGO!!!! of all places! I figured Washington DC or in California. I guess he's just a midwestern boy at heart!:love::love:
