I have my 1st visit to a chiropractor tomorrow. I've been off for about 2 weeks minimum (yes, I know I am normally off, but this is more off than usual) :lmao:

Next has been very stiff = been sitting w/ heating pad on my neck/shoulders for a good chunk of each day. Barely able to turn my neck & when I do I get vertigo/dizziness. Had headaches most days & nausea too. Lisa (sister) says it sounds like Menier's Disease & that I need to go get tested. Yeah - 1 more thing to add to my f*d up list. I almost fell 2x at Publix Monday night & having a hard time driving.

I'm hoping my neck can be released tomorrow and that things will get better.

I'll keep you informed :)

NO shopping and driving when you feel like that!!!!!!!!

Really, take good care!!!!!!

I hope the chiro does the right thing for you and you feel so much better. Fingers crossed. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Monica...

I thought you were a ditzy dame :faint::faint: to begin with!!! ;););)

Let him straighten you out.. hopefully you'll feel better soon...

& Deb.. good call on the card. If they decide not to have anything at a funeral home or something... send a nice fruit basket to Sandi with the card.

Thanks Shell. I still don't know what they're doing. Brittany (of Brittany and Casey) keeps texting me because she wants to send flowers too. They met Joe and Sandi once, but Brit is so sweet. She really feels bad.

We have the kid working on it with his mother and aunt down there. If they don't have a service at the funeral home, then I will send something to the house. I found a nice basket of muffins. I'll send those.

Thanks Shell for the compliment about the saying for the card. I'm glad you like it. That means that it will work well for us.

FYI - this is the best description of what Meniers is....

Meniere's disease can cause severe dizziness, a roaring sound in your ears called tinnitus, hearing loss that comes and goes and the feeling of ear pressure or pain. It usually affects just one ear. It is a common cause of hearing loss.
Scientists don't yet know the cause. They think that it has to do with the fluid levels or the mixing of fluids in the canals of your inner ear. Symptoms occur suddenly and can happen as often as every day or as seldom as once a year. An attack can be a combination of severe dizziness or vertigo, tinnitus and hearing loss lasting several hours.
There is no cure. However, you may be able to control symptoms by changing your diet or taking medicine so that your body retains less fluid. Severe cases may require surgery.
NIH: National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders

I've been dealing with the dizziness/roaring in the ears for probably about 10 years now, but only in the last 2 weeks has it effected my daily living/life. I'm kind of hoping that if the dr can release some of the pressure on my neck that the other things will go away/lessen, if not it'll be back to the ENT for more testing.

I'll let you all know tomorrow how it went. Appt is at 930am, should be home by 11am

I hope you don't have anything as severe as that....and no cure. That's aweful. I'm hoping that it's going to be relieved by the chiropractor appointment tomorrow. All fingers are crossed.

Thanks Deb. Luckily my sister knows a lot about this - Ian has it.

I'll keep you informed :) h&l :goodvibes

both are really nice.

Thanks Mon. I'm still waiting. I can't believe they didn't take care of things today. The body needs to be picked up by someone, it can't stay in the hospital. They have to make arrangements soon.

Monica: :hug::hug: :hug::hug: Hopefully the chiropractor can give you some relief.

Deb: :hug::hug: :hug::hug: Card sounds good, and either gift looks nice. Hope they get the arrangements figured out soon so you'll know where to send.

I'm either going to send this to the funeral home....Sandi can keep the pillow if she wants.

Or I'll send this to the house....muffins and cookies and brownies. YUM!

Now I just need to know what they're doing so I know what to send where.

I'd go with the muffins and send them to the house. They may not even have a viewing or such if money is tight. Besides.. it's a bit more personal for Sandi than a tribute to someone you didn't like.

Thanks Holly. I called the kid and asked him for an update. He said his aunt told him that they were going to creamate and not do a viewing. He said they would dispose of the ashes at some future date. He was just waiting for his mother to confirm. At least I got some info.

:thumbsup2

I went with the muffins. You were right, they are not going to have a viewing. So I just sent the muffins to the house. They should get them tomorrow.

Another day of rain here. I'm getting tired of it. It has been raining all week already. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. I'm hoping.

I sent the Muffins and they won't get there until tomorrow. I wish the kid had told me earlier last night and I would have ordered them yesterday for them to arrive today. Oh well. That's what happens when you deal with the kid and his mother's relatives.

Wow....you really have been busy. Glad it has slowed down some.

So how was the vacation? You did the DVC Members cruise right? How many nights and where did you go?

Glad you're back to working on the afghans. How many are you making? Who are they for?

Glad to have you back over here, Jan.

I thought I had written a brief trip report but when you asked I was afraid I forgot, but I found it. I posted it Sept 22. If you have any questions, let me know.

We are back from our respite.

We had been wait-listed for the DVC Member Cruise and after a while got a cabin. When that happened we had no idea that the trip would be 2 weeks after my Mom's funeral.

I worked like a maniac to schedule my clients those two weeks so was really looking forward to it. ::yes::

We spent one night at Old Key West, four on the DREAM :boat: and two more at Kidani Village (DVC at Animal Kingdom Lodge) where we had never stayed before. We had a nice view of the biggest savanna and after the rain :umbrella: of yesterday we saw zebras galloping in the dusk! Sooooo cute!

On the cruise we had two Castaway Cay days so we snorkeled :fish:, swam, biked, walked, lounged, got drank boozy drinks, went on Pelican Plunge and on the ship we went on Aqua Duck. After the cruise we explored AKL and Kidani, played golf and wandered through DTD. No Theme parks--only restful enjoyment of the property.

Now it is :laundy:
and putting away the suitcases
and getting organized for reports to write for work and clients to see
but I sure feel better than I did 8 days ago.

Seeing God's ocean is always good for me. What a blessing the trip was!

.

The afghans are baby presents for nieces and cashiers from my grocery store and the first granddaughter of my BFF, etc. They are an ongoing process. Right now I have two left to do -- that I know of. :lmao:

So Joe has been in the hospital for the past three weeks. Sandi texted us yesterday that the doctor said he may not make it thru the night. His organs are shutting down. It sounds like his time is up very soon.

I have been texting Sandi back and acting very supportive. Really, John and I do not like Joe so I'm lieing when I say we love them both, meaning Sandi and Joe, in my texts back to her. We have already decided not to attend his funeral. Sandi has chosen Joe and now she will have to rely on his friends and family to get her through this. John is very hurt by Sandi and says that who she is with Joe is not who his daughter is as he knew her.

I know that Joe hated me and so Sandi was standoffish with me as time went by. But I can't help feeling like the right thing to do would be to support her in her time of need. At least she has her mother now. The kid just got back from moving her down there. She's not far from where Sandi lives so she can be there for her.

John asked last night if he was being too cold hearted for not caring that Joe is dieing. I said, he hated us and kept Sandi away from us. I forgive him and don't wish him any ill, but if he's passing over then I wish him to learn what he needs to learn and to find peace within himself. John could agree to that.

It's a very difficult situation. I'm glad that we don't live in Florida yet. It's easier to deal with from afar right now.

Please keep it on the DQ....no FB postings, Sandi is on there as my friend and John's. But feel free to talk about it over here.

Sounds wise to be supportive of Sandy at this time. Sounds like Joe was jealous of the relationship she had with her Dad and as Joe's wife she had to keep some peace in her household so chose to listen to Joe. But, she is John's daughter and just because Joe was so jealous does not mean Sandy will not be back when Joe is gone. (What is wrong with him?)

ok - have a few quick minutes to play (it's been kind of busy this morning). I hate it when work cuts into my play time. :rotfl:

Really liked this chiropractor & her staff. They all were very attentive & personable and open to any/all of my questions. Since this was my 1st time () the dr took her time and made a point to explain everything.

She said I have signs of osteo-arthritis (old age hahaha), and that I am actually out of sync....my left side is higher than my right. She started out with something that warmed up my muscles (I liked that) then had ultrasound on my wrist, before cracking my neck & back.

A weird experience I must say, but right now I feel ok. I've changed my office chair for my exercise ball (I've done that periodically) - she said I need to keep moving when I can.

My insurance covers massage too, to for the next 2 weeks I have alignment scheduled on Tuesdays & massage scheduled on Thursdays. No clue what I'll do after that, since it'll hit the pocket book painfully. BUT I NEED relief of this pain.

She also gave a referral to an ENT that deals w/ balance issues - so now off to see if HE takes my insurance. UGH!
