Holly, sorry you are cancelling the cruise, was looking forward to seeing you and Tyler again. :sad1:

Yeah, I'm bummed too. Now that we can only go during school vacations, we're kind of limited, so I have to start looking at what's available next summer. And we're even more limited now because he just asked me if he can spend a month at camp next summer instead of just 2 weeks. Of course I'll let him, just have to talk to his dad about splitting the cost.

I started doing this also. Watermelon is one of the fruits that will last a good amount of time in the fridge, so one can keep hacking away at it for a while! Didn't buy one last time I was at the store though, as there were only GIANT ones and I didn't want to have to carry it! :rotfl:

I'm thinking about a movie today, haven't been for several weeks, so I'm off to check out what's still playing and what's new.

.
My last watermelon was HUGE! This time I got a bit smaller one yesterday and took the time to just cut up the whole thing, rather than cut a chunk off as needed.

Hope you decide on a good movie! I WILL be seeing Magic Mike sometime this week! :woohoo:

But the sadness of having to cancel the cruise is eased by a few days in FL starting the day after Christmas. We'll have to fly home New Year's Eve though, but at least we'll have some time with Mickey! :thumbsup2

Very cool show on TV today, one of those home makeover shows, a family had their back yard made over to look like Disney's Blizzard Beach! It was awesome! I've never been to Blizzard Beach. Makes me want to go sometime! :goodvibes

Well.. my car is working!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Lets see how long it lasts.

The battery keeps draining... but it's mostly because I don't drive it much. Working from home will do that.

AAA came and got it started and ran a diagnostic on it. the alternator is good and so is the battery... They told me to keep an eye on it to see if there are any lights or switches that could be staying on and draining the battery.

Hopefully it will be ok. I just have to go out and drive it every other day at the very least.

Glad it's working!

I'd have to drive just to get out of the house every other day. Don't you feel cooped up and get stir crazy?

I do.. I get cabin fever...

but when you don't have a lot of money.. you don't go many places... :confused3

Also the thing is that we have 2 cars... and a single driveway... so we've gotten into the habit of taking which ever car is last.

Mom likes her independence while it lasts... so she takes her car.. not mine when she goes out.

I get the not having much money part, but it doesn't cost much to just drive to a park or library or somewhere to just walk around, get a change of scenery for an hour or so. We're always doing free stuff! :goodvibes I know you have a small car like mine, so gas is almost nothing. :thumbsup2 But that makes sense about which car is in last.

well.. MY car is an Accord... Mom's is the smaller Civic...

& I get you on the free stuff.

I also think that I've been in a slump and sometimes, especially if I'm going through a period with pain and or meds... I won't drive. But I just have to make more of an effort...

(and Holly.. feel free to bug me every other day about driving my car...:thumbsup2)

Been texting with my cute next door neighbor. He's hard to understand when we talk because of his accent, but with texting I don't have to worry about that, LOL! He wants to cook me dinner sometime. Turns out the reason he moved here was to go to culinary school, his dream was to open his own restaurant, so he got accepted at a good one here, then 3 days later had his car accident 2 years ago which he's still recovering from, still having surgeries from. Poor guy. One more surgery to go though, to fix his twisted pelvis. Then the doctors think he'll be able to almost fully recover. Big mess, and big lawsuit, it was a Consumers Energy truck that ran a stoplight and crunches his car. He threw himself across the seat to cover his now ex-wife to protect her, so she wound up with only a scratch and bruise since he took most of the crash. Wow!

That's true, I can totally see not wanting to get out and drive if you're in pain, and probably not safe on meds.:hug::hug:

Well.. in your instance... it might be good to date someone who can cook!!

Nah.. I try to stay away from operating heavy machinery.. therefore... I leave the back hoe in the garage... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Um.....yeah, NO heavy machinery please! :rotfl:

Yes, I do need somebody who can cook! He's very polite too. Always apologizing for talking too much whenever I go over to his house. And super nice too......He caught me one day after exercising, I apologized for being sweaty and stinky and explained that I was struggling with weight loss, and he looked at me with a surprised look on his face and said "But you look wonderful already!" :goodvibes

Sooo let him cook you some "healthy" food!!!!
It probably would be healthy, he says he uses lots of veggies. He's having trouble standing long enough to cook though, so it will have to wait until after he recovers from the next surgery. Right now he has full time help coming in to cook and do things that he can't do yet.

If anything does develop and then not work out, it will be kind of awkward, since we can see in each others houses becuase the houses are only about 6 feet apart! :rotfl2: If I'm standing at my kitchen sink, the only option for looking out that window is to look into his living room. :rotfl: It's already kind of awkward if he happens to be walking by and sees me out of the corner of his eye. We just wave, and I later assure him I wasn't stalking him. ;) If windows are open, we could have a conversation while each in our own house. They're that close. I can hear his phone conversations. Fortunately they're usually phone calls with family, so it's not in English and I can't understand anyway.

Our bungalow down the shore was like that. If someone sneezed in one house.. they blessed you from the other... :rotfl:
