Rainy day here in Scotia... Mom and I went to the Scotia One Plex to see Chimpanzee... It was really good.

Just doing some other stuff around here for the next couple of days...


Ohhh and the "party" is back on...

This time just a small dinner with "family"... I have to bring Mom...

Hi Friends.....not such a good day for me today. It's the legs again. Both of them are leaking, the right one the most. The scary part is that it's leaking a rust kind of color....so I'm thinking that it's mixing with blood. That scares me. Even though my wound doctor says that blood is good because it shows that it's healing. I don't know what to think. I just know that I'm taking a half of a vicodin again because of the pain too. I'll get a good look at it when John comes home. We will have to change the bandage. If I don't like the way it looks, it's back to the doctor's office again.

Shell, I'm glad you're doing dinner and have it figured out now. Is that dinner at one of your brother's homes or out at a restaurant? At this point, a restaurant might be best.


Holly, I never told you.....how great Tyler's birthday party looked.....so much fun!!!! Great job!!!!

I sure do wish that I could get OVER this too!! I'm hoping that the move to Florida will be the way. I'll be in the pool at the house everyday.....that will help with weight loss and it will be soaking the leg everyday in chlorine. That will help the edema and kill the infection for good and hopefully heal the wound. I'm hoping so at least.

John came home and I soaked the leg in the tub with ebsom salt and disinfection liquid....the red stuff used for surgeries. Then John wrapped it good. So far so good. It's dry and clean. John will check it again tonight when he gets home. He has become such a great nurse. I would be lost without him.

Well.. we just had a crazy dinner time...

Went to go out to Carms and the phone rings...

"Hello... This is ADT security... we have a fire alarm going off at................(my sister's house....)............ We can't get in touch with Claire Lauzon-Vallone (my sister...) we've sent the fire dept. to the house to check it out.. can you go over and meet them?......................"

"ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........................no.............".....

"Why not????".....

Cause they're in TX... and I'm in NY..................."

"Are they out of town?............

"No...:


"Are YOU out of town?:

:No......"

I finally talked the guy off the emergency contact ledge...

LOTS of calls went back and forth... couldn't get in touch with Claire... or Brian... or Paul... so I sent texts and left VM's everywhere...

BUT in the meantime... the fire dept.. the police dept... etc... showed up... canvased the house (which they are supposed to...)....

I'm getting 15 calls back from ADT with updates...

Finally my sister got home. (to find the fire dept at her house...)

They finally cleared everything and my sister called me back...

I guess someone left and didn't close the door tightly enough and the TX heat... set off one of the alarms...

(and yes... I AM my sister's emergency contact... (the one if they couldn't get in touch with my DS or BIL when the kids were in school and something catastrophic happened... ) (lucky for them cause when I was down there, I was able to go and pick up the kids from school when they were sick....)

Actually Jan.. it got more comedic as the calls went on.

It's a good service and it did get checked out and all was well.. but between all of us.. I think ADT made about a dozen calls (5 to me alone...) and it was a real person.. not a recording. I just don't think he could believe that I was in NY and the alarm was in TX...

I think you actually did, on FaceBook. But thanks! He had a great time and we're still eating leftover birthday cake! I froze the rest and we take out a piece to share now and then. And we're eating Chuck E. Cheese's head little by little this week. Kind of disturbing to slice off a piece bit by bit, but yummy!

No more news after my 2nd update about the 2nd one getting to go home finally but still needing a feeding tube and will need heart surgery in a few months. She's so busy now with work and also trying to help everybody out, getting online to send updates will be difficult, she says. I promise to update every time I hear word from Kathe.

Quiet day here at Casa De QM...

I'm grilling chicken tonight... first time this year.

The door to the deck is still stuck so I'm climbing in and out of the window in the living room... I've nicknamed it my fire escape climb seeing as i feel like I'm climbing out on one!!! (not really it's only a foot above the ground...)

Still weeding the royal gardens. Trying to get my perenials out from the rose bush from H E L L ....

Will do. The family has received tons of offers and she says there is a good support group in Toronto, and says they will have lots of resources when they're ready.

Wow, I haven't been on here in 3 days and there have only been 2 posts! Everybody must be super busy!

After I took Tyler to his dad's this morning, I stopped for a few groceries, went home and barely managed to get through lunch before falling asleep and slept for 4 hours! It was a tiring but SUPER FUN weekend! I'd planned on driving out of town to visit my dad this afternoon, but when I called him he didn't really want me to and said "I've been a father for a lot of years and at this point I don't want everybody rushing to come over or bombard me with gifts. I'm happy with a phone call and knowing you thought of me." I kind of felt bad about it for some reason but he really sounded like he didn't want company, so I stayed home.

And now I'm headed to bed, despite my long nap I'm still sleepy and need to be fully rested for a CRAZY 2 weeks coming up. My co-worker Jan is in Orlando for a few days, then on the Dream Wednesday for cruise #17 (lucky her!), then headed down to Key West for a few days. She's almost ready to retire and has NEVER been on vacation for more than a week at a time in all her working years, so she REALLY deserves this! And it's the first time traveling with only her husband (to celebrate his retirement about a month ago). They usually travel with kids and grandkids or friends. Very happy for them and hope they have a wonderful time, but nervous about not having her help for 2 weeks. Usually by the end of a week I'm about to have a nervous breakdown because of the work backup. BUT she has to suffer through every time I take 2 weeks off (or longer), so it's my turn. And our 2 guys will be out at least 2 days each week, so it shouldn't be too bad. They do still work while out but at least they're not sitting right there waiting for work turnaround.

And then.........I'LL BE ON VACATION!!!!!
