So I'm posting on my Canada cruise thread but it's really slow. I NEVER mentioned the Champagne Girls. But two ladies already asked to be signed up. hahaha. I'm not having a tasting on this cruise. One of them saw the CG thread and realized that I'm on the Canada cruise with her. So she posted on the Canada cruise thread and the CG thread asking to sign up and she has her pink outfit ready. When somebody on the Canada cruise thread saw it, she asked to be signed up also. BUT I'm NOT doing a CG tasting on this cruise. hahahaha. It's so popular now that people are signing up for it even when it's not going to happen. I just think that is so funny!!

You must be able to licence the concept of Champagne Girls ...... think of all the cruise lines yet to be converted!

Super rough day at work, worked 4 hours over and still didn't even get half the work done. Oh well, I did what I could and now........I'M ON VACATION!

Off to bed, we're leaving at 5 or 6am. Well, I'll set the alarm for 5am and we'll leave as soon as we can drag ourselves from bed to the car. Will clean out the trunk in the morning to make room for the suitcase and off we go to Kentucky!

Yay, in proper terms, Deb is a founding father of the CG's together with Mandy I think, and all those of us who were in the first meeting are founding members, hence my signature.

I guess the 'father' is the official term if you know what I mean. It is what is in the dictionary but if she would rather be a Founding Mother then that is ok too!!

That is certainly correct, Marilyn. I think Mandy uses Co-Original One or something like that. I can't remember now......I'll have to go have a look. hahaha.

WE HAD A LOVELY VISIT WITH TYLER AND HOLLY TODAY~!

It dawned on me this morning that they might be coming through Indianapolis and I got in touch with her through Facebook.

They were a couple hours north of here and said they could stop by for a half hour (but it was really longer than that Lucky us!! )

Tyler has GROWN!

He was very interested in our building--I took them on a tour since it used to be a factory and it is neat to see how it was made into condos. We have some huge museum-like pictures of it when it was a factory of the people working here. He took some pictures of the pictures.

What a gentleman he was!

MY SHIP WAS IN TOWN!!!! & I HAD TO GO SEE HER!!!!



I only went down to Weehawken, over to near where the ferry goes across to Manhattan. There is a river walk there now (it's SOOO built up in the last few years.) I went and got a parking spot... and just stood and stared... and stared... and a little... and BOY WOULD I HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO GET ON THAT SHIP!!!

I call us Charter Members... since that's the term used most for members of a group who were the original members. I think we need T shirts that say that...

That must be an American term. I don't like it much really, sounds too official and ancient! Founder or founding means what it says, charter is a 'thing' to me so like saying you are a member of a charter(whatever that might be) We will have to agree to differ on that I think, though it doesn't really matter at all as it is such a minor thing, plus I am not too likely to be joining in one again methinks so won't need a t shirt!!

You didn't properly read what I originally posted Michelle. The two terms are different. Founder and Founding.(Not that I am that bothered in the grand scheme of things I don't even drink it now and was only a sipper then) But I know the UK and US differ in meanings of words and terminology. I guess I thought those who did bother about it might have thought I was stealing the ones who had thought up the idea's thunder putting what I had in my signature.

Now I guess together with Martha(nanatink) and Angie I am joint 'Founder' member of the Old Gits and Geezers actually!!! I remember that discussion well. How I wish we were back in the days of planning that cruise.

Beautiful Shell, thank you. I'm all paid in full and I'll be on her Sept 7th with Cork and Richard. Nana had to cancel due to work issues. Sad. But I'll be happy to be sailing on her out of NYC. How awesome is that going to be.

I like founding member too. I think is says more. I think charter member sounds like a constitutional group or something. Founding member is what it says. I vote for founding member. Mandy is the only one that says Co-Original.
