Yesterday I watched the memorials and cried. Then I put on some good football games and took a nap.

For some unknown reason I catch the best naps during 2nd and 3rd quarters of football games. It's great because I get to see the start and end of a game and skip the stuff in the middle.

For the first time ever, this year I bought the Sunday Ticket. It allows me to watch any game playing and all games at once on a grid. I'm in heaven. I'll get a lot of good naps in then.

Are you counting points again on WW? Are you doing it casually or strictly? I keep saying I need to do it seriously, but find it very difficult with the boys here. It's not just me and John anymore.

Can the boys help with the counting?
Show them where to learn about it and let them use their brains when they are planning, cooking and serving. It would be a concrete way they can give back at a time when they have no money to pitch into the pot.


YAY on the football naps

Our younger son was out of work for nearly two years. He just relocated to Bowling Green, Kentucky and started a job Sept 1. Tom and I brought him to Indy the first of Aug to stay with us until something turned up. He had had a good interview with them in early July and felt sure a job offer was coming. I tried not to rain on his parade. When we were in Alaska he got the letter.

There are still some of his things at his brother's in New Jersey. So Thursday I drive there, spend a couple days with Sophie and her parents, load Ted's stuff.

Saturday I will drive to Utica NY to see my Mom in the Alzheimer's care community and then to a suburb to stay in our childhood home with my brother.

Sunday is the baby shower for the first grandchild of my best buddy from high school, a visit to Mom and add things for Ted to the car. My brother moved in with Mom several years ago so she could stay in her own home longer. He had his own stuff but mostly stored it in the garage so life would remain the same for Mom. So there are duplicates of many things there.

Monday I will drive home and in a couple weeks we will get the stuff to Ted.

well....I did sleep last night, but am still loopy now....more than 12 hrs after I took the pill. Will need to see if I can cut it in 1/2.

Deb - don't worry about me & the ex---I'm not looking to rekindle that relationship any more than just friends. I must explain the kid thing...while he was married he had his 2 kids, then his wife couldn't keep from getting pregnant by other men, so that's why he's acting father to them. Bet you can figure out why he divorce her

Jackie - I really enjoyed Little Dorrit...I did miss the last portion of it tho. You wouldn't want to send it my way for me to watch, would you??

Jan - sounds like you have a jammed packed weekend coming up - drive safely!

I've thought of him periodically over the years, too....

We had a good talk.....he's dating a lady from Jamaica now & he think's this might be the real thing.

Bummer that he's involved with somebody, but glad you had a good talk. It's nice to catch up with a somebody from a past relationship and reconnect.

Went to the dr's this morning....he gave me a script for something (non-addictive) to help w/ the insomnia & anxiety. Will take the 1st one tonight after I get off work & hopefully it won't take to look to build up in my system.

Oh good grief.....as Holly would say.....Ray's bank account got hacked and now he has four fraudulent charges plus an overdraft fee and his account is locked. I have to pay Mrs. Bush for him tomorrow. So I just called and asked to pay them next week when I get paid. But I was going to use my check for vacation in two weeks. At this point I have to hope that his bank resolves the fraud charges before I have to leave for vacation so that I can use his money because I'll be using mine to pay his bills. What a mess!! We found out yesterday that the fraudulent charges are a singles website, two charges for a porn website and another charge for six porn films....totalling over $1200 plus $140 in overdraft fees. Neither Ray nor I ordered these things for sure. Let's hope the vendors refund and credit the account in a timely manner. Yesterday they said it could take 10-15 business days. If that's the case, I may have to cancel my vacation. I have to see how things work out before deciding to do that. It's the worst possible timing for this to happen.

OMG Mon, I'm so sorry.....I had no idea. The fact that he took on kids that were not his to any degree makes him a saint. Please accept my apologies for jumping to the wrong conclusion about him. I stand corrected. He sounds like an awesome person.

Hi Jan. Unfortunately when doing WW most meals are "light" and would NEVER fill the boys up. They eat a lot. As you probably know having raised two sons. So I would have to make one meal for me and another for them. That won't work. When it was just me and John I used to make him eat WW food with me because it's healthy, but then he would eat "junk" food outside of the house. Maybe we can get to that point with the boys when they find jobs, but not yet. They just eat at home for now.

I think it's great that you get to help your younger son while getting in some baby time with Sophie. It's great how that worked out.

Congratulations to Ted on the new job. Good luck to you when you go visit with mom and your brother. Have fun at the baby shower for your friend's grandchild too. It sounds like you are going to be very busy these next few days. Drive safely and be careful.

It takes a while to get it right. You will find the right dosage. Hang in there.

well, this just sux!

If I have to cancel. I'll just push it back a month or so, but I'm still coming. I just won't be able to do all the plans that I have already made.....so that really sux. AND I have plane tickets already. But what can you do. Bills come first and I'm one account down. Today is my third day working with the bank all day and the vendors and trying to get everything resolved. This bank is not the best. It's where my mom and Ray had their account. I think I might have to switch the account over to my bank when all of this is settled. It's a nightmare.


THE WORST part is that it's my 21st anniversary and me and John missed being together for our 20th because my aunt died and I went to Florida. Oh well, if we don't get to go on our anniversary at least we'll be together this year.
