Will came over today & we showed the yard/lawm/weeds who is the boss!

We did the front, then took a break & tried out a new french bistro nearby, went to Walmart to buy some more topsoil, and then came back to do the back yard. Boy the back was scary!!:scared1: I've put that off for a while - figured the front was what mattered cuz that's what people see :lmao:

I'm SO happy that's done!

I owe Will BIG time! He's really a true friend.

I finished up the scrapbook/office space yesterday & am DONE for the weekend (except :laundy:). If I get motivated at all...I can always move some stuff in the garage.

Whew! I'm pooped! I will be signing off shortly. Have a great night!

Michelle: best wishes with the medication adjustment.

Holly: best wishes on Tyler's summer, school year and medicine adjustment. Deb is right, he is a sweetie!

Sweater is fisherman knit or Aran Isle sweater--off white with columns of patterns that repeat at different intervals. I want it done for our Alaska cruise August 9. I made this pattern in imported wool when I was in high school for skiing. I met Tom in college and when he admired it I made him a wool one too. They are HEAVY, need hand washing and (for some unknown reason ) are too tight now. So 10 years ago I remade them larger in washable acrylic yarn. I should have made Tom's longer so finally am doing another for him with a longer body.

Jan :earsgirl:

The sweater sounds very nice! I just can't imagine a sweater in the summer. ;)

Can't do Hawaii but hope you can go on the fantasy with us.

I hope so too! I can't imagine 2 in the same year, so I'm working REALLY hard at making that happen. Sort of a last fling of vacations because I have to start re-paying my student loans in July of 2012, so that will be the end of vacations until I get used to having all that money disappearing every month. I imagine it will take me at least a couple years to adjust to the new, extremely tight budget I'll be on for the rest of my life. Yup, I'll be repaying them for the rest of my life. What a depressing thought. Oh well......it is what it is. Just have to deal with it and work the rest of life around it. :thumbsup2

Well.. the QM is home!!!

She fed me dinner and then MADE me go to the DR...

Urgent care closed at 9 pm... I walked in the door at 8:45 and was back out the door again, Rx's in hand by 2 minutes after 9..:banana::banana:

I think they should treat me for whiplash too... :lmao:

got me some Cipro... should knock out anything I have going on... and they gave me an rx for a nasal spray but the medicare drug plan doesn't cover that.. I guess old or disabled people don't have noses... :confused3

:confused3 Can't imagine making one or wearing one?
I am sitting in an air conditioned condo when I knit and it is for the cruise to Alaska. Didn't you wear a sweater there ?

FB is good for lots of things, but it's more personal over here. You might share more with us here than you would to the public over on FB...

Just the opposite, my dear! ANYONE IN THE WORLD can read what is posted here. With the proper settings on FB the only people who see what you post are the people you have selected to be 'friends' with. The feeling of this thread being more personal is an illusion. You can be more anonymous here, of course, since that stranger in Podunk, IA who reads here doesn't know who you/we are...at least as long as they don't feel compelled to look at x thousands of posts to see if they can figure it out. I know if someone waded through my 16,000+ posts they could pick up the phone and call me at work!

I also have chronic and acute sinusitis. I have had sinus surgery. I have an RX for Nasacort. Should I mail you a bottle of the nasal spray? I'll make sure it's an unused one. haha.

PS. I have been on Cipro before too. I love that we have matching drugs.

I know it's public here... but I felt like it has been more personal... we've shared so much and became friends here...

& deb... on the spray... :thumbsup2

HA....she was the one wearing a short sleve tee shirt for the whale watching while I was bundled to the nine's. Different strokes. :rotfl:

I think that the difference is that there is a specific group of friends here that are all like minded. On FB my friends list varies so much that I have to think about what I'm saying because it goes to everyone.....not a select group like on here. Also, I have more room to write so I can elaborate each item, unlike on FB.

I use FB to be generic and quick. I'm on here to be wordy and specific. It's different.

Tell John we love him very much!!!

Does your drive in serve good food? Ours has funnel cakes... Brian treated me to one when he was up visiting last time! :goodvibes

They did have funnel cakes. I didn't have any. I had french fries and a coke. Then we brought candy with us from the store. I had twizzlers and crunch N munch and then I had a bottle of water. I'm trying to be good and when I'm not, I like to balance with some good.

Deb, this is great! :thumbsup2 I've considered a water aerobics class too. Swimming hurts my knees too much. I know, it's supposed to be good because of it being low impact, but it's the kicking motion that kills my knees. Although i'll be 41 next month, I'm too young for such extreme knee issues. :guilty:

John has bad knees too so I know what that's all about. AND YES, you definitely are way too young to have such bad knees. Maybe you could try wearing a knee brace. John says they help somewhat. I don't know what they will have us do in the aerobics class. All I did on my own was walk through the waist high water back and forth. On both ends I would hold onto the side and do leg kicks and bends....and the bicycle. I only did it for a half hour total. Aerobics is an hour and a half. EEK!! I'll just do my best until I build up. I can't expect to do everything first try. I think I'm going to like it.

Thanks. I ended up dropping him and leaving. I did at least go inside to make an excuse. Just said I have things I need to do. I'll pick him up at 6 when the party is supposed to end, but will probably show up about 15 minutes early to be social for at least a few minutes.

PERFECT.....just enough for them, but not too much for you. You did the right thing. A perfect balance to make everybody happy. Good job!!

You know, I think hand-held devices are the problem with people posting here...more lurking, less posting. Lots of folks just get e-mail notification on their phone and read the posts. Think there's less sitting down at the computer and 'checking-in'. :confused3

I still have to scream at my sister to STOP TEXTING ME! Phone conversations (even if it's a bried exchange arranging meet times or something) is so much faster if you just TALK.:sad2:

Just finished several hours at the office and am now heading back home, too bad it's too late for a nap!

.

It's way easier to be mobile on FB than on the DIS. We just need an app for the DIS and then we'll be here more too.

:cool2:

WOW you did SO much today. Good job. And Will is certainly a true friend. Those are very rare and good to have.

Can't do Hawaii but hope you can go on the fantasy with us.

OH MAN, I would get in so much trouble if I even considered proposing to do this cruise. We have Hawaii booked and John said only one a year. Then we booked the NYC cruise to Canada. John said it was ok to do those two in one year because it was out of NY and he needed the least amount of time off. 12/12/12 on the Fantasy would be number three and really pushing my luck. I would LOVE to do it though. hahaha.

They finally let me out of my contract with them. I have been on disability for 9 years. I wrote to them and told them this info. They denied me last year. This year they wrote to me and said that the remainder of my loan has been cancelled. HOORAY!!!

The kid is still paying his every month.

John never had one since the Navy paid for him to go to school.
