That's ok Deb... I don't think I'd want them up at the lake for weeks either...

Lately Timmy has been getting on my nerves and he explodes at the littlest thing. Besides... my financial status is thrown up in my face at lots of times... so... it's better to just let it be.

I only went to see them at the shore once... and that was when I had the boys with me in from TX. Otherwise... we always did the lake about the same time as they used to go to the shore. I'm just not a beach person - well... the shore... I loved Martha's Vineyard... but that's another thing entirely...:goodvibes

Day 4 on antibiotics... seems there is a very bad cold/sinus infection going around. And apparently I have it. oh well... at least I got it now and not around the wedding.

We are heading to TX on Aug. 3rd and home again on the 8th. I got our tickets last night. The cheapy seats had 2 stops (I think that's how SW is now handling the new destinations covered by Air tran...) so we are going to be stopping in Balitmore and Jackson MS on the way down... and Charleston on the way back. I wish I had more time at Charleston...like an overnight... I'd love to go and see my cat!!! :rotfl: (he lives with Amy...ok... so he's really Amy's cat... :confused3) & yes... I'd love to see Amy too... :rotfl::rotfl: (eat some good seafood... grab some good candies... ok.. so I need to go back to Charleston sometime...)

Nothing yet Holly. Tom filled out the application on Saturday and they told him that the manager would not be in until Monday to look at them. Then they were going to wait until they received all the applications to review them and then call people in for interviews. Tom said he'll wait until next Monday to call because it will be one week since the manager got his application. He said he'll tell them that he is willing to volunteer and work there for a week so that they can evaluate him and his work habits.....just to get his foot in the door. Then they will know that he is seriously interested. I think it's a great idea. We have to wait until Monday.

I think that's a great idea too! I'll keep fingers and toes crossed! :thumbsup2

Holly, I get email notifications of all the DIS and FB postings. I read your post that you deleted. I just want to hug you for moments like that and praise you for handling it the way you did. You did the right thing. Remember, it's just an illness that meds can correct. It's trial and error when you add or delete medications. You will find the balance again. Hugs.

Thanks Deb. By the time I posted it, he actually had fallen asleep. I think it's just that this was normal kid behavior and I'm not used to that. ;) I can handle the extreme stuff because it's what I've grown used to, but he's never been one to be bratty or tell me "no" like kids occasionally do, so I have no experience with it. Besides, I really believe it stemmed from anxiety over the psych appointment he knew was coming this morning because he knows whenever they take him off the one med, the things it suppresses come out and he gets in trouble every day, and that's certainly no fun, so he of course would be dreading that. He got up this morning, apologized, put his room partway back together and started doing math work without even being asked (I bought him a 3rd grade math workbook to practice over the summer so he hopefully won't forget everything, on request of his teacher so she doesn't have to re-teach him everything). :thumbsup2 And doctor appt. resulted in keeping meds the same for now, since things are going so well for him, I think he wants the rest of the summer to build his confidence up, and we'll reduce meds after he's been back in school for a month. He even did great with the 2 weeks at camp and last week did summer care at a totally new place (a local nature center) with new people, including one overnight and had NO issues. :cool1:

Anyway, all is stable for now. :goodvibes

great minds...

Hey... anyone hear from Kathe lately?

I guess she's still off training for her job.

So we had to shoe shop for Tyler again, for the 3rd time in a month. :lmao: On the way home we stopped for groceries because I wanted to stock up on fruit to snack on at work, and we discovered 2 kinds of fruit we've never had. I picked out strawberries, blueberries and pink grapefruit, and Tyler picked grapes and apples, and the grapes he picked are a kind I've never heard of. Midnight beauties. They're these really huge and dark grapes! Then we saw some peaches that looked smashed halfway flat. Turns out they're called Flying Saucer peaches. :rotfl2: We'll be trying those tomorrow. We had a cart full of fruit, Weight Watchers microwave meals, and Skinny Cow ice cream. :rotfl: I discovered a new yummy find. Weight Watchers has a new flavor of string cheese. It's smoked flavor and is still 1pt. Super yummy!!!

good going on the shopping...

I don't suppose there's gonna be a vegetable waved around those fruits anywhere? :rotfl:

Emma had an interview with J Crew yesterday... just retail, but it would be something to get her working for the time being... nothing else on the job front permanantly... keeping all fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed! :thumbsup2

Off to bed. Long day tomorrow. After work we're headed to the fair and will stay until they close, unless we get tired out before that. :thumbsup2

Oh, when we were shoe shopping for Tyler, he saw the cutest little pink Nikes and asked if he could get them for his sister for her birthday. They were too cute to resist! :thumbsup2 TYLER has never even had Nikes, LOL! He wanted the pink ones for himself SOOOOOOO badly, and I told him he can have whatever shoes he wants, but he's too afraid of how badly he'd get picked on. Kids are so mean and he's just not brave enough yet to handle that. His dad would have a fit too, and I suspect Tyler knows that. :headache: So when we saw the same shoes in miniature, I think he just wanted to be able to live vicariously through his sister. ;)

Welcome Back thieves!!!

You know who you are.... ;)

Now lets have some good updates and gossip... come on... how's everyone doing?
