And of course, 3 years ago we were all waiting in the terminal waiting to begin our fantastic voyage!

Every cloud has a silver lining Michelle!!

Another lovely day again today. We did have some heavy rain yesterday afternoon, but it is clear again now. John is going bowling this morning. Not 10 Pin bowling, but outdoor bowling on a large bowling green. He and his walking buddy walked past the club last Tuesday and were invited in for a free lesson. Well they both enjoyed it and can go back for a cheap game this week. I think John will join but the other John probably not as he is the one with terminal bowel cancer, but he is really enjoying this for now. I'm not sure if you have them over there so i will post a piccie or two.

Photos a little old fashioned now, but for matches they still wear white.

I think we have a version over here called Bocci ball... but you dress much nicer for it.. Tell John that over here bowling consists of a big ball, beer and wearing someone else's shoes...

Style is timeless.

(Good to see those trades and union people out there lawn bowling.)

Not too early to wear white? :confused3

Hi Everyone,

You may not remember us - we were the imports from Australia on the WB PC Repo cruise in 2008!!

Just found this thread, so thought I would say Hi!!

We are getting very excited, we are coming over to go on the Wonder to Alaska at the end of June - with a week in Vancouver before the cruise, a week in San Fran after the cruise and a week in LA after that....we can't wait for the warm weather in SoCal, as we are almost in winter here and it is COLD.....for us anyway (Sydney is like Florida)...

Hope everybody is well - drop us a line if you like!

Lea

:cool1:

Hi Lea!!!

I think we may have met doing the laundry in the laundry room on deck 7...

good to see you again... stop by any time to visit...

If you need any tips on what to see in SF... just as it here in a few days... the Thieves who were on the first Alaska cruise will be back by then :thumbsup2

About this time??? I had already had lunch with Ian and Sukie... Sukie had already tried to pick up my mother... :rolleyes1 and I had already gone to my stateroom praying that my luggage had made it.... ;)

Hello Marilyn.

Thanks Bubba.:thumbsup2 It seems to be a game for oldies here too, though on the public greens you do get families at the weekends. I bet it is good exercise though. Now if ever we are in Santa Barbara I can send John off for a few hours!!!:rotfl2:

Had quite a nice day here. Having changed my medication a couple of weeks ago I am not feeling just as dopey(:lmao:) and mornings are now better than afternoons so we went out for a change. Met friends for coffee who we hadn't seen for almost 2 years so that was great!! We met at the town where they live which is about a 50 minute drive in beautiful countryside. Lovely. Bought a new venetian blind for the kitchen and a couple of other things. Nice to have a change.

Came home and John went into work for a couple of hours. Bliss.;)

Just had lunch (a late one...) on the verandah... (Oh... the deck... :rotfl:) nice and hot out there (80's) and John has come and cut the grass this morning (which woke the whole neighborhood up seeing as he does most of the lawns in the area...)

I have to go get more top soil and some more grass seed... it seems I have a project ahead of me.. Hopefully I won't get too crazy as to have a perfect lawn this summer...

One of my neighbors wants to put in a small putting green (the artificial kind...) Since I'm on the board and it's another board member asking, I said "why not..." to which all the others said "Can we come over and use it???" :rotfl:

Ok... sooooo... Lets see who checks in first....

My money is on Holly... :rolleyes1

Arizona contingent home safe and sound. :thumbsup2 Well, Cheri is 'nearly' home, but she made it to a family event here in the valley, don't know if she's staying down here or driving on home tonight.

Alaska is so beautiful! I want to go back!

Have about 10 pages to catch up with here but probably won't be able to do that till this weekend.

Off to facebook to look at some photos!

Oh. You're back.

Morning all!!

I'm back!! I got home about 130am today, and have now been at work since 830am. Sat on the tarmack at Ohare for 1 1/2 hrs waiting out a storm. Got into MCO 2 hrs late. It was so good to sleep in my bed last night!

Alaska was beautiful! I'm dubbing this trip my "goats, whales, seals, eagles and bears, oh my" cruise :lmao: Not sure when I'll get to download pictures...I lent my camera cable to Emily and she went home with it.

Arrived in Vancouver on the 2nd.....cold & rainy that day, but we still went out & about. We hit the liquor store (necessity) & had dinner at Hon's (www.hons.ca) <---- GREAT pan fried dumplings! We stayed at the Westin that night (www.westinbayshore.com). We were able to watch the Wonder sail in the morning of the 3rd.

Got to the terminal about 1030am & saw Holly, Tyler, Heather, Tom & Bethany right off the bat. Ended up seeing Deb, John, Kathe, Cheri, Vicki, Greg, & Jackie as they came out of the terminal & while we were in line to check in. Checkin process was somewhat painful as the temporary CM's had issues.....Marlene & I upgraded at the port to an oceanview room for $350.00---had room 2090. It was double that for a verandah. We were able to get boarding card 2, so we got on board pretty quickly. Lunch was with Kathe & Jackie at Parrot Cay.

The Outlook Cafe ended up being a regular meeting spot....warm inside, but still with a view.

It was sooooooooooo good to see all my dear friends! Dinners were an adventure, as there were 18 of us at 2 tables. Musical chairs every night.

I had dinner at Palo twice....once with Marlene & once with Jackie. Brunch was in the private dining room with Jackie, Cheri, Gydell, Bill, Betsy, John, Deb, Marlene, Peggy Jo, Holly & Mike (new couple), and Kathe. Great chicken parm as usual :goodvibes

Tracy Arm Fjord:

Stood outside for about 4hrs.....breathtaking views. Icebergs every where. Saw seals (including a pup). Did not see the actual calving, but did see the splash.

Skagway:

Did the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad tour (www.wpyr.com) with Jackie, Deb & John. Amazing scenary & this is where we saw the bear.

Juneau:

This was our group whale watching excursion. I saw several humpbacks (I want to say 5), but no breaching. Also saw 3 harbor seals on a bouy, and many eagles.

Ketchican:

Marlene & I did the "Lighthouses, eagles & totem" tour....guess what we saw?? :rotfl: We saw several eagles nests too. I met Santa Claus here too at the Christmas shop....and I have pics to prove it!

Hated getting off the ship on Tuesday....only thing that made it better was knowing that a bunch of us were staying over night in Vancouver (at www.panpacific.com/Vancouver/Overview.html). Ken & Shannon were able to leave the girls with his parents & they played tourist for the day (well, Ken was the tour guide). We did the Hop on/Hop off bus. Saw Stanley Park, Granville Island, Chinatown, Gastown, the Olympic Caldron, saw the Wonder sail away & had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory (www.oldspaghettifactory.ca/locations/british_columbia) before calling it a night.

Yesterday was a very long day & now I am counting down the hours before I get to go home (6).

Know that you were all thought of & that you were there in spirit :grouphug:

Sitting out on the front porch with my coffee, the dogs, and my new iPad 2, which I can't believe how much I adore. Cheri was a bas influence and forced me to get it..

I have been at my new job for 5 months. I just passed what would have been my 6 year anniversary at the insurance company. I was thinking about it the other day. So sas things became so horrible after the NY company bought us.

I really like where I am and returning to travel automation, the path that really launched my career 28 years ago. I was a travel agent before that, for 5 years before that (be you never knew that)!

Actually in about 4 weeks I'll be able to show off the results of my first project.

It's a nice place to work, though I'm still getting used to being the oldest person in the extended group. I still go through little culture shocks, like now that it's warming up, I saw someone at work in a t-shirt, shorts and flips-flops (personally I didn't think it was that warm). And yesterday afternoon at about 4:15 they broke out cases of beer.

I was actually a bit shocked, which in turn shocked me.

So glad you're still happy at your new job. :thumbsup2
