Sorry about the kitty Michelle - it sucks to lose a pet

Quiet before the school storm here. Molly is away at a Girl Scout weekend retreat - getting ready for her big retreat in Nov in Houston. Not sure if I told you all here. She was chosen to be one of ten high school girls in Northern CA for a GS leadership institute. She will also be able to see the National Convention - as it runs the weekend after. We are hoping in the next few years she will run for national delegate. I'm excited to watch her blossom into her high school years as a scout :goodvibes and rumor has it that her all girls school will be a perfect spot to hawk her cookies :thumbsup2

School starts Monday for Willie (Wednesday for Molly) he is less than interested

Time for me to find work again :rolleyes1 I have a few lines in the water hoping something bites soon.

Last night we took a drive in the red car - drove by our rental house - love how big the trees have gotten :woohoo:

What an awesome opportunity for Molly with scouts! :goodvibes

Your rental house is adorable!!!!

Tyler was talking to me tonight while doing yardwork about how sad he is that I'm cruising without him and how he's wanted to go to Hawaii every since his dad and stepmom told him how many cool things they saw that he'd love when they took their honeymoon there. :guilty: I'm actually starting to feel sad about him not going, especially after how awesome he was this past vacation since I was basically able to do just about anything I wanted for the first time ever, and it was the first vacation I actually enjoyed with him. :headache: Oh well. What's done is done. Nothing I can do about it now.

We made great progress on our yard today, just the front. Tyler's finally at the age where he really is a big help and I get much more done with his help than on my own. I told him if he helps me all week long, in the yard and with major house stuff, he'll get some money on my next payday. He's saving up for a new iPod touch that has a camera, so he's happy about working for money! :thumbsup2 He also wants to buy a computer and a Nintendo DSi 3D, so he'd better get working! :rotfl2: He's got a good chunk saved so far, probably enough for either the Nintendo or iPod, but needs to keep saving for the computer.

This week we're not doing anything outside the house after work. It's going to be a cleaning WEEK. Time to get serious. Last winter I came up with the goal of having the whole house in order by the end of summer. Time is running out.

Way to go Holly & Tyler!! I think it's so cool that Tyler likes to help & helps out so much.

my weekend.....

Friday night:
moved around some bookcases in the living room & some other stuff in the entry way.

Saturday:
I went to the volunteer open house at the SPCA. Next step in this process is filling out the online application form.
Stopped by an AT&T wireless store to see what phones they had to offer for an upgrade.
Went to the library & dropped off the last 2 boxes of books I had to donate & picked up some more books to read (Janet Evanovich's book 4 in the Stephanie Plum series, the newest Anne River Siddons book & I don't remember the 3rd).
Had lunch at Chili's (reading) before heading to Marlene's to load up some stuff in her car, then to my house to pick up the old paint & it was off to the landfill. Well.....1 wrong turn & we didn't make it there in time to drop the crap off....so back home everything came. This was really the only disappointing/frustrating part of the weekend.

Sunday:
I got the entire lawn mowed (front & back), plus the hedges trimmed. I was going to edge the lawn too, but my arms were shacking so much from the hedge trimmer that I couldn't.
Went & gassed up my car & stopped by another (closer) AT&T wireless store & upgraded my phone (I now have an HTC Status). Unlimited text & calls plus a smaller data plan. \
Stopped at Publix for groceries, then collapsed at home. I did NO other house work this weekend.

I had some interesting dreams ;) about someone last night & then got to talk to him today. Really sucks that he's dating someone else right now. grrr oh well.

Really NOT in the mood to work today....but then again, not really in the mood to do anything today, so I guess I might as well sit here & get paid.

:thumbsup2 We did a tiny bit more yard work today, but mosquitos are horrible this year because there's been tons of rain recently, so we didn't last long outside. He then asked if we could clean my bedroom. :rotfl2: That's definitely NOT an after work project, it's a honestly a whole weekend project. Did some work on a linen closet though, filled almost a whole city trash bag of stuff. Now I can use it for towels again, and extra bathroom supplies, instead of having piles of towels all over the house. Wherever I fold clean laundry, that's where they stay until they're needed. Now they have a proper place again. :goodvibes

Wow Monica! I wish I were so motivated to be that productive! I've been slacking off majorly. :sad2:

Oh......and maybe he won't be dating that person for long. ;)

Sooooo............

Yesterday, Mom and I went to see West Side Story at Proctors... was good... but the movie was better... :rotfl::rotfl: Tony and Maria were very weak in this production and they and they had the spanish, which was ok in places, but it sort of made the songs disjointed.

Just hanging out... trying to get my room ready for if I get a visit soon from Michael.. he is doing better... he's getting his speech back and the use of the right arm too.. he's only 58... so it's been pretty scary...

I'm trying to talk my niece into evacuating from Myrtle Beach... Maysie is going to college there. She's young and doesn't think she has to evacuate... (she's likely to go surfing...:scared1:)

DO NOT feel guilty about going to Hawaii without Tyler. YOU take him everywhere. If his father is filling his head about when he went and it's such a great place that Tyler would love, then why doesn't his FATHER take him there or anywhere for that matter. Why is it always on you? Not fair. Don't feel guilty. Let Chuck do it!

That's great news about Michael. Make sure you get his sister's phone number just in case......

I love Myrtle Beach it's one of my favorites along the Eastern seaboard. Hilton Head is another beach town that I love. But it's scary during a hurricane. Tell Maysie to take cover and do her prep work....taping the windows, having candles and non perishables and water, etc. Don't go surfing!!!! The rip current will kill you!

We bought another car. This one will be shared by the kid, Tom and Kris when he gets here. But mostly Tom will use it. The kid works with John so he doesn't need a car. Then Tom and Kris can coordinate for work when they get jobs. Tom has been fiercely attacking the job force. Now that he has the car he'll sign up with the temp agencies too. Then there's a job fair in Allentown next month. Both Tom and Kris will go to that. Something has got to bite soon. Having a car will help.

Today we go and pick it up. It's a VW Jetta. It's nice!

I don't feel guilty, but sad that he won't be with me to enjoy it with me since he's now fun to be around on vacations. The point of him not going was because vacations used to be stressful with him.

Ok... didn't feel a DARN thing!!!

I never get any good catastrophe's... I only get blizzards... :headache::headache::headache:

but.. we're supposed to get lots of rain this weekend...

Deb... are you ready? We need some good reading and munchies... :thumbsup2

Michelle, we're going to Long Island on Saturday to pack out uncle Teddy's truck. We were going to stay overnight in a hotel, but not anymore because Irene is coming. John said it's supposed to hit on Sunday and he wants to be home when it does, not driving in it.

I'm more concerned about my uncle since he will be driving through it on Sunday.

I'm sure we'll lose electric at home. Gotta make sure we have enough gas for the generator.
