Deb, the weekend of the 30th is a holiday weekend here(Civic Holiday Monday) which is why it is more money.

Michelle...come on...we need a review of the show :)

Thanks Kathe, that's great to know.

Thank you Kathe. John and I are a couple of old crocks at the moment. He had his skin cancer thing taken off his ear on Wednesday. He is fine of course, in fact it went better than he expected, but the scar is quite big and impressive with lots of stitches. He looks like he is a veteran rugby player with a cauliflower ear right now!!!

Thanks Michelle. I think there are lots of sufferers who are trying to prove that it can be cured by alcohol!!!!;) Can't be cured by anything to be honest.:sad2:

If it ends up being what I do have I am in a good place as I have always been quite healthy(apart from naughty desserts and cakes) and didn't drink much at all and none since I was in hospital.

It is becoming more common unfortunately with people drinking more and more, but not all alcoholics get the illness so there is something else there that contributes.

I'm sure he will with some help from a few other Thieves!!!:lmao:

Marilyn, give our best to John and wish him well from me and John. We hope he heals quickly and without any pain.

Kathe, I will pass on your message to John, thank you.

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:Thank you too!!! Perhaps we'll do our next one together on the way to the Hawaiian islands. Just a couple of weeks until the announcement of the new itineraries. YEAH!!!!

I just have a little fear in the back of my mind that I might not get on long faraway vacations again. At least not until a definite diagnosis or we find a really good travel Insurance company. One reason why I put off going back to the doctors. As soon as you need investigations you can't get cover for that illness, and of course once there is a diagnosis, some illnesses they either won't cover or the extra premium is just too much to pay.

Ever hopeful though!!:yay:

Thanks to you too for your good thought for John.

:grouphug: I understand how you must be feeling Marilyn, very frustrated I'm sure. Don't give up on your vacations just yet though  Now that you are back under the care of your doctor, hopefully they will get it figured out and you will be on the mend again in no time :wizard:

Thanks Kathe, that is what we are hoping for. Unfortunately it is a progressive illness if indeed the doctor is correct, but we are ever hopeful here;). It is just like last year in the sense that we have to PIF for our September cruise sometime in May, and I need travel insurance for then. Or at least a few weeks afterwards when DCL cancellation policy comes with a penalty. I think I got the OK to travel just in time last year and got the travel insurance just a few days before we would have lost some money. I think DCL might allow you to move your cruise date but I am not sure. I would rather not have to find out!!!

I could go without travel insurance of course, but you all know what costs might be incurred if a hospital stay in the US happens!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

I would never travel without health insurance either :scared1: Hope you are able to find an insurance provider in time for your next trip.

How is John doing? Continuing to mend?

When I went to work yesterday it was pouring rain, when I came out to go home late last night it was a blizzard  It actually looks quite pretty today, nice new white fluffy snow everywhere. It has stopped snowing and it is quite mild. Unfortunately I have a lot of shoveling to do. Is it wrong to be pokey today and hope my neighbour beats me out there with his snow blower ;)

His ear is healing very well thanks Kathe. The scar is very impressive and he is now bruising all down his neck. He is very proud of it all!!! He isn't looking forward to having his stitches out on Tuesday though.

Sorry about the snow. I hope your neighbour turns out to help.:)

 Why is it that men seem to be so proud of their battle scars  Will be sending pixie dust to him on Tuesday!

Thanks Kathe, I will tell him. He put a photo up on Facebook!!!!! Bless him. To be honest I wouldn't like to have had that done and he has been so much better than I expected him to be. We have a lot of laughs here.

I'm glad you are both keeping your sense of humour!!!

I have procrastinated long enough I'm afraid...time to bundle up and attack the snow! I'll just pretend to be Holly and I'll have a great time  Have a great day everyone!

that's when we start the Marilyn Medical & Boozy Drinks Fund... cause either you go to the hospital or we drink...:thumbsup2

He just wants to look like a pirate... tell him to be careful though... Mom's surgery will trump his before you know it!!! :lmao:

Holly doesn't like snow... she LOVES it... but doesn't get much... that's why she LOVES it... does that make sense??? :confused3 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'll go with that plan Michelle. Thank you all very much!!!;):lmao::lmao:

Yes John wants to be a pirate!!!!

You all probably know I have been having continued pain which has been increasingly affecting our lives here as well as being very unpleasant of course. I always said I would go back to the doctors in February if things hadn't settled as we had these last 2 vacations and cruises booked and had travel insurance in place which included my acute pancreatitis. As soon as you go back to the doctors and have tests etc it cancels all that and I wouldn't have been covered!

Anyway I went back last Friday and the upshot is he believes I now have Chronic Pancreatitis. It is a shock, but we aren't convinced as yet so I am ok. I have to have another ultrasound scan next week and had some blood tests. Have to continue with the same pain meds and not feel bad about taking them. We will see how it all goes. Basically nothing has changed treatment wise for now, but I am going back to being stricter with the low fat diet after enjoying more yummy food on the last cruise!!!!!

If you bother looking it up, it hasn't been caused by alcohol!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Oh Marilyn, I'm so sorry you're struggling with this.

I wish I'd read this before seeing the picture on FaceBook. It was quite shocking!

:wave2: Hi Michelle! Saw this on top after I posted on my cruise thread and thought I'd pop in. Hope you feel better soon!

So sorry that so many of you are having health problems. Hang in there!

It has been a cold, snowy winter here in Cleveland. And I am with Holly...I LOVE it! This is the way that winter was meant to be. I just wish it was a bit shorter. I know that I mentioned before that whenever I hear Chicago mentioned I think of Ian and Sukie. Well, whenever it snows I think of Holly. There aren't too many of us around who really like winter.:goodvibes

Donna
Hi Donna! Glad to hear I'm thought of once in a while! :goodvibes Yes, I do love winter, always have. I've never handled heat well, so it's perfect for me. :thumbsup2

So??? Is everyone busy today??? Nobody has checked in!!!

I've been digging out again... 2 inches of ice on the cars with about 3 inches of snow on top...

Got the garbage can down the driveway :thumbsup2

and now I'm going to go and do some stitching...

& Marilyn.... yes.. the moon WAS very lovely tonight.. :goodvibes
