Just an FYI, it may be better to do it the weekend of the 23rd because a three night reservation on the 30th was $100 more than the weekend before. I booked both weekends in a hotel on the Canadian side right near the Falls. For 3 nights it will cost me $650 or $750 total depending on the weekend chosen. That's a lot, but it's a good location so I booked it twice. I'll cancel one weekend when we figure it out.

So how was the show? Did you wear your Mickey ears?.....hahaha.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Deb, the weekend of the 30th is a holiday weekend here(Civic Holiday Monday) which is why it is more money.

Michelle...come on...we need a review of the show :)

Sometimes just being able to actually talk about it and get everything out in the open helps so much and I bet you feel much better already. You will both appreciate each other so much more after a break.

I hope you can soon enjoy some you time.

Yup... yelling and screaming in the car helps...

Hoping to be in my own house soon... then we can sell the townhouse and mom will not have to worry about much anymore...

Sorry Kathe... was working...

So... it was FABULOUS!!!!! Great seats... (front mezz 2nd row) (Dress Circle they call it... )

We started out getting there early because they said they wouldn't let anyone in for the first 10 minutes if you were late. I WASN'T going to miss the the opening.. The elephant coming down the aisle got the BIGGEST ovation in the first song...:goodvibes Loved all the costumes... the Giraffes the best. Proctors was a great theater for this. Nice big stage.

The woman who played Rafiki... was brought in from S. Africa by Hong Kong Disneyland and then hired for the National Tour. I can just imagine her life's ambition was to come to Schenectady in the middle of a blizzard!!! :lmao::lmao: She was Wonderful..

The kids who played young Nala and Simba were only 9 years old. Such talent!!!

I DID have a woman sitting right behind me who at intermission admitted that she liked the "cartoon" version better... :sad2::sad2::sad2: I imagine she didn't quite realize it was based on Hamlet either... I don't think her :teacher: was too high... :rolleyes1

We went to Villa Italia afterwards and got some really good Italian cookies (our treat when we go to the "city"... :rotfl:)

You all probably know I have been having continued pain which has been increasingly affecting our lives here as well as being very unpleasant of course. I always said I would go back to the doctors in February if things hadn't settled as we had these last 2 vacations and cruises booked and had travel insurance in place which included my acute pancreatitis. As soon as you go back to the doctors and have tests etc it cancels all that and I wouldn't have been covered!

Anyway I went back last Friday and the upshot is he believes I now have Chronic Pancreatitis. It is a shock, but we aren't convinced as yet so I am ok. I have to have another ultrasound scan next week and had some blood tests. Have to continue with the same pain meds and not feel bad about taking them. We will see how it all goes. Basically nothing has changed treatment wise for now, but I am going back to being stricter with the low fat diet after enjoying more yummy food on the last cruise!!!!!

If you bother looking it up, it hasn't been caused by alcohol!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ahhh but can it be CURED by alcohol??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Come on.. you were just jealous of all of us poppin pills over here on this side of the pond (although you DO seem to spend alot of time over here...)

Many hugs from the Thieves pain club... :grouphug::grouphug:

If I take Will away... I should be back by the 20th... so that might work... what hotel did you choose?

Marilyn, we are doing a Champagne Girls on the Alaskan cruise. I just got the boas in the mail and the tiaras are on their way. We will have a good turnout.....44 ladies so far. The one I will miss the most is you. This one you would like. But we will do it again one day and by then I'll be fully polished so it will be the best one!! I just wanted you to know that you will be very missed, but with us in spirit. I will do a cheers to you!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Aaaw thank you Deb, that means a lot. I am sure you are going to have a great time and I look forward to seeing the photos. Your champagne girls are the best!:thumbsup2

Planky will suck an entire bottle down in your honor Marilyn... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Glad you enjoyed your night out :thumbsup2

Just watching the news and weather...risk of freezing rain again for tomorrow morning :sad2: I am not enjoying winter this year

I think the only one who IS enjoying it is Holly!!!

Marilyn :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Sending you hugs, prayers and pixie dust too :wizard:

I was really hoping to hear that the pain had subsided...glad you went to get checked out and hope you are able to get it all under control again

Thank you Kathe. John and I are a couple of old crocks at the moment. He had his skin cancer thing taken off his ear on Wednesday. He is fine of course, in fact it went better than he expected, but the scar is quite big and impressive with lots of stitches. He looks like he is a veteran rugby player with a cauliflower ear right now!!!

Ahhh but can it be CURED by alcohol??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Michelle. I think there are lots of sufferers who are trying to prove that it can be cured by alcohol!!!!;) Can't be cured by anything to be honest.:sad2:

If it ends up being what I do have I am in a good place as I have always been quite healthy(apart from naughty desserts and cakes) and didn't drink much at all and none since I was in hospital.

It is becoming more common unfortunately with people drinking more and more, but not all alcoholics get the illness so there is something else there that contributes.

I'm sure he will with some help from a few other Thieves!!!:lmao:

Marilyn,

It goes without saying that Sukie and I send you and John our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

We were talking about you last night. Sukie's a bit under the weather and was having cups of your tea. You have no idea how much he appreciates a nice cup instead of this American muck.

Thank you both. I hope Sukie soon feels better and am pleased we could help in bringing a little bit of England(Yorkshire in fact!) in to his life for such a time as this.

:wave2:

I have a sore throat so I'm staying sort of quiet today...

:wave2: Hi Michelle! Saw this on top after I posted on my cruise thread and thought I'd pop in. Hope you feel better soon!

So sorry that so many of you are having health problems. Hang in there!

It has been a cold, snowy winter here in Cleveland. And I am with Holly...I LOVE it! This is the way that winter was meant to be. I just wish it was a bit shorter. I know that I mentioned before that whenever I hear Chicago mentioned I think of Ian and Sukie. Well, whenever it snows I think of Holly. There aren't too many of us around who really like winter.:goodvibes

Donna

Hi Donna. I like having seasons actually. I love them all for different reasons. I guess this time of year is special, Spring. Well it is almost anyway!! We have had some lovely days with that promise of the future and it is so lovely.

I don't mind some snow as long as it doesn't disrupt people. If we get any now it won't last long so that is good.

Hi Marilyn! I can't imagine living anywhere that doesn't have four distinct seasons. I really love them all, especially fall.:thumbsup2

Hi Donna!

I really do like the change of seasons as well, but winter is my least favourite! If we could shorten it to 4-6 weeks I'd be happy ;) I hate the shovelling the most...just not as easy as it once was. I do LOVE a White Christmas though!

Marilyn, give John a hug for me  Hope he feels better soon. Glad the surgery went well.

Hugs to Michelle and Sukie and Deb too :grouphug: Hope everyone feels better soon!

Kathe and I get tropical weather...lolol

Hi Donna!!!

You should subscribe to the thread... that way you won't miss out on any good gossip... we don't post 50 pages a day anymore... :rotfl:

Good to see you... love to Harry!!! :grouphug:

Me too.. I love fall... and winter... but I was hoping I'd make it a Florida season this winter.. (for at least a week...:goodvibes)

Thanks Deb, I did put a little weight on on the last cruise as I decided to try eating things I previously hadn't and found out I was no worse!!:lmao: So it was harder to stop again. I am lucky in that I like cottage cheese and salad, so most lunches that is what I have, and do enjoy it. I have bread without butter/spread and eat low fat yogurts and fruit. We normally eat lots of chicken/fish and vegetables and love that too. However, if I thought it was going to have to be forever I would be cross!!! There are lots of low fat products out there now, but the problem with some of them is what they put in instead.

Well I guess it is easier if you think it might cause you problems, but overall I find it easy to follow in my normal everyday life. It must not be a NO fat diet though as we do need some, but I usually use Olive Oil if anything which is a good fat for helping reduce high cholesterol which I have.

Those sound like wise and healthy choices. And I think you touched on a key point in that if you had to do it forever, you would not be happy. I think that's my stumbling block. I have to look at it as one day at a time and not forever.

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:Thank you too!!! Perhaps we'll do our next one together on the way to the Hawaiian islands. Just a couple of weeks until the announcement of the new itineraries. YEAH!!!!
