Wow Kathe! I don't think I'be ever seen that much snow!Hello to all from snow covered London, OnWe have had 70 cm (28 inches??) of snow dumped on us since Sunday!!! Schools have been closed for 2 days and will be closed tomorrow again...a new record. We haven't had this much snow fall in such a short time since 1977.They are calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow, then for another storm to hit us on Friday. I have taken the bus to work for two days now, since my appointment to have snow tires put on my car isn't until tomorrow
They pulled the busses off the road at 3:00 pm today...I was lucky that a co-worker offered me a ride home or I would have been stuck there! Taxi's are taking between 2 and 3 hrs to get to calls. I'm hoping that I can find my car under all that snow tomorrow and navigate my way across town to get those snow tires on!
I am thankful though for my wonderful neighbour, who purchased a snow blower over the weekend and has come over and helped dig me out, or I don't think I would have been going anywhere until next summer!
At the moment, I'm having a very hard time remembering why I wanted to go to Alaska in the spring
Hope everyone is keeping well![]()

That is a lot of snow i a very short time Kathe.Take care. Our snow is still around. I guess we got to 1 foot or so all in, but it is going slowly now. Scotland has been very badly hit though. Poor Deborah is very fed up. Even a motorway has been closed with cars abandoned.
Oh how I hate spending my lunch hour talking to Tyler's dad.He works over an hour away and is on his way to pick Tyler up from school, has to be back at work to run a meeting at 2, so he has to take Tyler with him, not knowing what level of rage the kid is in (he refused to take his medicine at school), so I think he was hoping I would offer to go get Tyler. Nope, not starting that, otherwise I suspect he'd be asking me often. The deal is, whoever's house he's at, that's who has to pick him up on bad days. But I mainly think he just needed someone to talk to.
We both agreed about how worried we are for Tyler's future. The bigger & stronger he gets, I honestly am afraid he'll wind up in jail if we can't get the impulsiveness under control. I predict an increase in med doses at his 2 appointments next week.
His dad said "all we can do is pray for him."
I haven't said much, but after a great first month in school, things went so downhill, very close to where we were over 2 years ago. Very rough couple of months. I think Santa needs to skip our house this year.
Holly, sending hugs and prayersNever forget that you are doing a great job. I know it has not been easy, and I'm sorry that Tyler is continuing to experience problems, but he has had long periods when he has been happier too. Remember that
He will have better times ahead. Christmas is a stressful time for all of us it seems.
Marilyn - hope you are enjoying your snow
That is just wonderful reply for Holly.
For the first day we did Shannon, but it has caused so many problems. We are breaking all sorts of records(not the highest December temperature unfortunately!!) but we aren't as bad as Scotland. Our road is thick ice as is the next. Once I have negotiated those, the roads to town are good, and town of course is clear. Warmer for a few days now so going to melt the ice, but it is well below freezing at night and all the water will freeze, causing dangerous roads and sidewalks.(Get me, saying sidewalks instead of pavements)
Hope the winter is being kinder to you. I know you are used to much worse than we have. We aren't prepared though, that is the big problem.
Are you still enjoying your job? Also your new house?
