Happy Birthday Deb!!!

Ditto - Ditto!!!

Chicago....Chicago.....it's a wonderful town.....

I'm packed!!! I spent the day yesterday unpacking from the October trip, doing laundry and repacking one weekender suitcase. Of course, I packed cold clothing not Orlando weather clothing. Then I restocked the bathroom bag and all I have left is the last minute bag.

I just checked the weather, we're starting off driving in the rain which then turns to snow as we approach Chicago. The storm will be heading east as we travel through it going west. Oh well, it's winter. We may leave a little earlier since the storm will slow us down some and add extra time to our 12 hour travel time. Either way, we'll be there Wednesday as close to noon as possible. I wonder if the hotel will let us check in early?

Deb....don't forget 'my' coat! :lmao:

I will be doing the same today, and hopefully a bit of shopping too. I will try for packing light, as I can always do a load of wash at Dianne's. That is If she even remembers what floor her laundry room is on, as she has her cleaning lady do hers! :rotfl:

Friday's pay check had almost $400 of overtime (nearly enough to pay for my new vaneer) and I've racked up another ten hours this week, with a few more tomorrow, most likely. I NEED this break!

I had a dream last night that as Peggy was driving Cheri and I to the airport Tuesday morning, she just parked in the airport garage and said "I'm coming with you!"

Also, I've accidently lost some weight since the office moved to the new building. That little extra walk from the parking garage, plus having home cooked meals at lunch, seems to have had some bearing on that. I was sad we had a meeting to go to at the 'old' station one day and missed meatloaf in the lunchroom. :sad1: Imagine my delight yesterday when I ran up to get a sandwich that they were serving a hot meatloaf 'press' (think panini) sandwich with the leftovers! Oh yum!

Hope you all have a great weekend...and see some of you SOON! :woohoo:

Not to worry Jackie, I'm bringing 3 coats....hahaha....one of which will be for you to use.

YEAH on the unintentional weight loss....we'll take it no matter how it comes.

That's a lot of OT. Hope you don't get sick for our trip.

See you real soon, can't wait!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Of course you all know I'm excited about Turkey day, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how excited my mom is to be going too. :goodvibes. She came to town for last night's Christmas parade. She was excitedly telling me about a bottle of wine she bought to contribute. I've worried about her since her retirement (she sort of had no choice but to take a buyout for early retirement at 59), because she's had a hard time adjusting and figuring out what to do with all her free time. So I think she's just really looking forward to a good time with lots of fun people. :woohoo: She never used to be comfortable in large groups of people, and a bit of a scrooge at holidays, so that's why I'm so surprised! And happy to be able to give her some excitement, so THANK YOU again, Ian & Sukie! :thumbsup2

Sending pixie dust :wizard: that you all have safe journeys to Chicago for Thanksgiving :goodvibes If there's pumpkin pie, make sure to have a piece for me!

Thanks Kathe. I'm lucky and have it the easiest. Just about a 4 hour drive and no bad weather predicted for either the drive there on Wednesday or the drive home on Saturday. :thumbsup2

Holly, I can't wait to meet your mom. What is her name? Just so I don't call her Holly's mom all night long. hahaha.

It's Susan. But you'll have to ask her if she prefers Susan or Sue. I've heard people call her both, so she might not care, I don't know.

Hoping to get through this short work week with my sanity intact. My co-worker is on the Wonder, B2B, and everything is falling apart at work, and everybody expects me to fix everything immediately, but I'm still working on last week's stuff. I'm not enjoying my lunch hour because I'm thinking of everything looming over me for when I return shortly and I already broke down twice before lunch because I'm cracking from the stress. :guilty:

Holly, you are so in need of this short vacation. Do take care and look after yourself.

Popped in to say safe travels to you all and enjoy your stay in Chicago, and your Thanksgiving meal, which looks wonderful by the way. Looks to be some amazing dishes.

I thought you might be setting off at different times so wanted to get in early.

Ian and Sukie, I hope all the preparations go well and you enjoy it all.

All well here. Getting on with Christmas shopping. We might have snow by the weekend!!

OH NO....How horrible to have a day like this. Just remember it's only one day and you're doing the best that you can do and that's it. Take deep breaths....yes them to death and ignore them and work at your own pace and do what you think is right. It will all be there tomorrow. Hugs.

Enjoy the Christmas shopping.....it's way too early for snow. EEK!!!

The menu sounds yummy doesn't it. We'll post lots of pictures.

I'll give everyone hugs from you and John.

I'm done packing my last minute bag so now I'm really ready to go. I just have to polish my nails. My dilemma is whether to polish them blue to match my toes or to change the color....maybe do a sparkley purple. hahaha. I want to keep it festive. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hey all...

Quiet times...

I've decided to opt out of the Dis Xmas cards if you don't mind. Just not into the holidays this year.

Ready for the semi feast. It will just be us and maybe my neighbor, Joyce. Depends on if she gets invited to her ex husbands or not...

cold and cold here...

supposed to snow Wednesday and Thursday.
