I think I have terrible times with booking Disney Cruise now...

First we booked dummy dates for 20 July 2011 as we want to book 2012 for Eastern Med... but our dates for final payment is on 23 March :scared1::scared1:

Deb mentioned that it will be announcement by March so we don't know what exactly date start...

Also we had our second thought that we want to book 21 April for 3 nights to see Dreams... However it was sold out and I saw three available but I emailed DU and it was too late that all went gone...

Now we dont know if we cancel it or move another dummy dates...

We wait to see if any cancel for 21 April (i dont think so)....

An archive site that Sukie always goes to for research that worked the day before the outage now just hangs. I spent 12 hours today trying to resolve it.

:headache: Hope you have better success today. How frustrating!

Sounds like you are having a frustrating time too, wait and see...it will all work out

You can freely be yourself on here and let us know about your frustrations. Are they technical? Due to the outage? Are you starting over from scratch trying to get everything online?

Ian, was there a power outage in Chicago due to the storm? We had blizzardy weather on Tuesday night into Wed, but I know Chicago got hammered :cold: We had a bunch more snow fall last night...thankfully my neighbour is out cleaning my driveway along with his with his new snowblower :thumbsup2

There were power outages but not in our neighborhood. We were fortunate. There was one in the neighborhood to the west of us.

No, Comcast went down of their own accord in our neighborhood. I understand they had some sort of fire, though I don't understand snow storm and fire.

My fight with them is that Sukie was able to access this research site for years before the outage, then afterwards there are problems. They insist that the problem is with my router and don't seem to comprehend the concepts of before and after.

Actually I think that it's a compound problem, set in motion by Comcast.

I believe when they restored service 24-hours later, their settings change, setting in motion a situation that my router is not handling well.

Apple was great, they are shipping me a new Airport router even though mime is 4 years old. In the meantime we're using an even older router that seems to be working fine, just a bit slower.

On a more positive note, I have been vindicated. Sukie has criticized me for not disposing of old hardware because, "It might come in handy someday."

Maybe I should thank Comcast for affording me the great pleasure of being able to say, "I told you we might need it someday."

Well, I'm sorry you have been dealing with such a frustrating situation, but glad you were able to keep your sense of humour ;)

I have been cleaning and tossing out things all afternoon...maybe I better rethink some of my choices for the garbage pile! I have all sorts of cables, etc that I have hung on to, but since I don't remember what they were for in the first place, not sure they'd get utilized even if there was a need for them some day  One day, a long while off I hope, my kids will be sorting through my things and questioning why on earth I kept some of the things I have. I'm not too worried yet though, after viewing a couple of episodes of Hoarders :scared1:

My personal favorite are power adapter for things long gone.

I know that this was hell-o for you but it just sounds so very funny to me. What a fiasco. Funny. But fiasco. Sometimes when life is too strange to understand it becomes comedy to me.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

OK you've got Kathe laughing too....it must be your telling of the tale Ian. Sorry. We're all laughing while you were ready to cry. No disrespect intended. But you are funny.

Kathe since my brother had to clean out my mom's house and all her things, I have really started looking around at my stuff and think that I need a big bonfire. Especially before we move to FL in two more years when John retires.

OK....I'm really in sad shape then. I still have the things that should have been long gone. I can easily put my hands on my very first walkman with the headphones and it still works. Just need cassettes to play in it. Madonna was the rage then and I walked all over NYC listening to her everyday and Wham. I loved them.:laughing:

Drive by post to say :wave2::wave:

Hi Mon.....hope your day isn't too stressful. How's your weather today? We're in the frozen tundra. I have Alaska right out my front door. My driveway is a glacier....pure ice.

I'm having a huge dilemma and need some input from my Champagne Girls. We are having another one on the LA/Alaska. We were going to do it on the LA but now with people cancelling and changing plans, I think it's best to do it on the Alaska. At this point I have been getting a lot of feedback and now I would like to know, How would you like to see us do the next Champagne Girls? I have been told that we don't need another Sommelier. Should we just taste different champagnes and not talk about them or learn about them? I agree that we need more time for us all to talk together. I really would like everyone's input. Please let me know what you would like to do. Thanks.

Damn I guess I should have checked in here first. And it would have been nice if Shannon would have told me when she looked at it.

But I did this up thinking the Champagne Girls was happening on the Repo portion...

Guess I'll have to come up with something different...

Well, it's still super cool! :goodvibes

Ditto what Cheri & Deb said...that's what I'm booked on! :thumbsup2

To all Thieves on the repo.....where are you staying the night before?
I was looking at the Crown Plaza, but now that there are three of us I don't want to share a double bed and they don't have queens. I could see if Peg and Cheri want to book "our" triple on the Queen Mary, but I'd rather be in San Pedro I think...plus, been there/done that.

.

Not sure if Shannon has answered yet so here goes.

We get in to LA on the 24th. We will be staying someone on the "strip" as we are going to do DL on the 25th and 26th for sure (undecided if we will hit the parks on the 24th - depends on hours as we don't get to LAX until 1:30pm.) We haven't actually picked a hotel yet - but will do that this week.

As for upcoming trips...

April 24 - 27 in DL
April 27 - May 3 Disney Wonder LA to Vancouver, BC
May 3 - May 10 Disney Wonder Vancouver - Alaska - Vancouver
May 11th heading home to Prince George by car
May 12th back to work... :sad2:
