Well all the extra exercise might take it's toll short term, but perhaps the benefits will outweigh that. Next weekend will be fun, though i guess lots of walking and standing around.

Yes, now if I can just keep it up. I have to learn the right balance between doing something not enough and too much. I need the benefits without the back pain that too much causes. I'll work on it.

Fortunately, next weekend we have tables and chairs inside an air conditioned space. I'm happy about that. We can go stand outside upstairs if we want to. I probably won't. I have a hard time with stairs.

I don't have much social activity at the moment. Well, we went over to see our son, daughter in law and little Molly last Sunday and had a nice meal out with them. Molly is just gorgeous.:cutie: They are off to Tenerife for 4 weeks this weekend(they are both teachers). We see the other children and grands too regularly. I go to town for a walk and shop - buying loads of new cruise clothes. Just haven't got to put too much weight on before our 2nd cruise in early January though, and that period includes Christmas!!!!

How old is Molly now....she must be growing fast too. You do walking into town every day and that's great. I have no sidewalks and it's all uphill outside....and we have no town. I'll stay indoors to get my exercise.

I'm still taking meds for the pain, which work well, but I am rather dopey and tired early in the evenings, so happy to do nothing.

I hope your pain killers are not addictive if you're taking them long term. Are they narcotics?

We have a night away booked for 2 weeks on Sunday to go visit friends who are on the September cruise. Meal and some great laughs and cruise talk.:dance3: Otherwise we are keeping all the money for the cruises and days either side.:thumbsup2

That sounds like a lot of fun.....Mini DIS meet!!!! You have a great group of people travelling on your TA cruise. I'm sad that I can't be joining you. I love when a great group just happens. You'll have such a great time with the precruise meeting....lots to talk about.

John is in the middle of his second weeks working to cover our son who is in Italy on vacation. They should be having great hot weather. We are cold and damp at the moment. I didn't think i would ever warm up this morning. We have rain or rain showers and cool temperatures forecast for all week unfortunately.:sad2:

How nice to be able to just go to Italy for vacation. That's like me going to California. Hope they're having a great time.

Our weather has been gorgeous....no complaints. It's been a warm sunny and often hot summer here.

There is the big Guiding Centenary Camp being held locally at a large stately home with beautiful grounds.(Harewood House) I believe there are thousands of guides etc from all around the world camping, and today is a big day as day visitors are there, so a few thousand others I guess. At least it has been dry till today if a little overcast. Our Ann, of Ann and Albert, is there with her group. We were supposed to meet for a coffee yesterday, but she had to cancel as she had to take a girl who had missed the bus to her activity!!!! We might manage Thursday or Friday, but failing that, we get to meet up in just 6 weeks!!!!:yay: We are having Geezer meets onboard!!!

Oh how nice that Ann and Albert are so close to you right now. I hope you get to have your meeting later this week....another precruise get together and chat. You can head the Geezer meets onboard since there is no list and no planning involved....hahaha.

Goodness, I'm talkative - the meds have taken effect!!!:lmao:

Usually the pain meds make me loopy....then I want to sleep. I'm glad yours keep you active.

It's been fun chatting with you Marilyn. You have lots going on at the moment. It must be summer.

Albert isn't up with Ann - it's purely a girl thing!!!

The pain killers are opiod kind, and can be addictive. I only take them when I have pain, and take between 2 and four a day and I can have up to 8, so I'm not addicted just yet!! As long as I only take them when i have pain then I should be ok. Now, I could become tolerant to them and therefore need more to do the same job, but not happened yet. They don't keep me active at all and I do have a very pleasant dopey state a few hours after taking them, and can make me sleepy. That is getting better now. Sometimes I am quiet and can't be bothered to even answer posts, and other times I am chatty. I have to make myself active to be honest, but walking to town is a nice exercise, particularly if I buy something nice.:lmao:

Molly is 3 in September. She is a bright as a button.

I'm glad you have seating etc for the races. Makes it so much more an 'occasion' as well as a good thing for you!!

I'm back after a lovely weekend of camping.

I'm excited to officially announce:

:cool1::cool1:I have a NEW JOB starting in 4 weeks!:cool1::cool1:

So the next few weeks are going to be very busy packing up our house and getting it ready to sell. Its going to be very nice for Ken & I to work in the same town, and he can be home every night!:cool1::thumbsup2 The girls are a little happy and a lot sad to be moving away from their house, school, daycare, etc. But they'll adjust and it will be much better for us in the long run.

Congratulations!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks for all the congratulations!
This is such a supportive group :goodvibes

Deb - glad to hear you enjoyed your beach day. You are having a crazy busy summer, but in such a good way:dance3:

Marilyn - hope you are able to meet with Ann for coffee

My cousin's new baby is in the NICU.....baby intensive care. He has a collapsed lung due to water or gas between his lung and chest wall. It happens during labor sometimes. He has to stay in the NICU for two weeks. His Mom and Dad are freaking out. Amy, Mom, left the hospital early. She had a C section and was supposed to stay longer, but since the baby is at another hospital she wanted out to be with him. The Dr. let her, but in a wheelchair and only for one hour a day, otherwise home resting. Jeff, Dad, has been with Little Jeffrey every minute. He hasn't left his side.

Prayers and Pixie Dust please. Poor little guy.

:grouphug:Sending prayers and pixie dust :wizard: Poor Amy, as a mom it would be so very hard to have to go home without the little one  I'm sure it helps her to know Jeff is there with the baby, but she probably needs his support right now too.

Deb, how was your day with your friend at the beach? Hope you had a great visit!

Fortunately, Amy has a teen daughter and son from a previous marriage. I'm sure they are helping out. But Amy and Jeff need each other for support too. I'm thinking of them and thank you for sending prayers too.

Deb, how was your day with your friend at the beach? Hope you had a great visit!

Oh, it was so nice. We had the best time. It was local and not crowded. Gail and I got to chat and catch up and we had Mimossas to share. We really did have such a great time and must do it again soon. Thank you for asking Kathe.

I went shopping today with a good friend whom I haven't seen since March. A long time for us, we usually hang out every few weeks. I had a great visit, but didn't find anything to spend my money on...which is a good thing!

Tomorrow I work, then Friday I'm having Tammy (Brian's GF) and her family over for her birthday dinner. Serenity won't be here, she goes to her mother's this weekend...but I get her the following weekend from Friday until Sunday while Brian and Tammy are at a wedding :cool1: I'm busy planning our activities. I haven't had her all to myself for a while now ;)

Busy planning my Oct cruise...I was able to book everything I wanted to :thumbsup2

I have quite a few days of training I have to go to in Sept, so will be ready for my vacation. Yesterday I found out they had scheduled for me to go away for 2 days of training in Oct too, while I'm on vacation. I told my supervisor I couldn't do those 2 days, that I would be cruising. He told the training organizer at our head office and was told the training was mandatory...he told her again, no I would be on a cruiseship! They are rescheduling my training  Sheesh! Of course, we could be on strike by then! (but talks are apparently going well)

:yay: CONGRATULATIONS ~! :cool1:
We moved the summber before our boys were in 1st and 5th grade and then again in the spring of that school year. I think it bonded us together :grouphug: even more as a family because in the new places we had only each other until we got to know people in the neighborhood, schools and church. And they still enjoy having us around and think family vacations are a good idea. :thumbsup2

so, you and the girls are going on AN ADVENTURE! :woohoo:

 ETA - I did not know you have friends and family in the area ! How wonderful!

Glad to hear Amy isn't completely on her own!

I had a great day at the beach yesterday with Gail and Mimossas.....we chatted the day away catching up. It was so peaceful and such a pleasure.

Got to soak my leg in the ocean all day too. It was theraputic.

:wizard: Great that the salt water is as good for your leg as the chlorine water! GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME! :woohoo:

Haven't caught up on the posts on this page yet....but wanted to make sure you all saw the most recent Dream Quiet Cove Pool photo:

Rather unfortunate that there's not anyplace to SWIM. And they sure used a lot of space for the splash up bar. :sad2:

This 'water-baby' isn't happy.

Next outing is Saturday at the races with Michelle and the QM and possibly nephew Will. I'm getting excited. We're doing an overnight so we'll be at Oliver's for breakfast on Sunday morning before heading home.

Wish us luck so that we can win big.;););););)

Sounds like you have the whole weekend planned out!!! :cool1:

Michelle, don't forget to bring Will's bathing suit. Let's do cocktails by the pool in the hotel on Saturday night after the races. We'll pick up some bubbly and toast Cheers! to the Champagne Girls!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Will won't be coming with us... sorry I forgot to let you know... My brother is coming to get him after all at camp and I'm not sure what else is his plans... but we can figure out what's going on after we win big at the races!!!

You're such a busy socialite Deb!!!:rotfl2:

Unfortunately... we're missing Mary Lou Whitney's Charity ball... (I never get invited... :sad2:)

Will do Deb. How worrying for his parents, but he is in the best place right now. I'm sure Amy will be managing a little more time with him each day. goodness, if he was home with her she would be far busier!!

There's a new retaurant opening at Italy in Epcot , Via Napoli, which serves mostly pizzas. They are having their "soft opening" right now. I read that they would start taking ressies for the fall starting today so tried calling for my Oct trip...but they said no, not yet, keep trying back :sad2:

I wasn't going to make any ressies for restaurants for this trip since the food and wine festival is going on and since I will have stuffed myself on the cruis for a week, but I really want to try this place! The pics look great!

Still looking for my credit card...

Anyone see it?

It looks like a credit card... has Van Goh's Starry Sky on it...

Last seen with my AAA card when I was making imaginary reservations for a trip I'm not taking yet...

Help????
Yikes!!!
I lost my house keys last week - just as I needed them to be able to get out of the house and have lunch with a friend.. Had to work out of way of gaining re-entry to the house as they refused to turn up. Then Richard had to get new ones cut... :sad2:

FOUND THEM!!!

(they were in my car... )
:thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2

And my keys turned up in the cutlery drawer!!!???? How they got in there, I'll never know!!!
