I'm back after a lovely weekend of camping.

I'm excited to officially announce:

:cool1::cool1:I have a NEW JOB starting in 4 weeks!:cool1::cool1:

So the next few weeks are going to be very busy packing up our house and getting it ready to sell. Its going to be very nice for Ken & I to work in the same town, and he can be home every night!:cool1::thumbsup2 The girls are a little happy and a lot sad to be moving away from their house, school, daycare, etc. But they'll adjust and it will be much better for us in the long run.

OH MY GOSH!!! CONGRATULATIONS SHANNON!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

How exciting! You'll have to go house hunting too! :woohoo:

Happy belated Anniversary, Gydell!:lovestruc

Ian - Hope you're having a great trip! Have fun with Bubba & V & Cheri & Jackie & Peg!

Kathe - the first Monday in August is a stat is BC (its BC day).

Time to share a little kayaking story. Ken & I went off kayaking on Saturday, and after a while we were getting hot & I needed a potty break, so we pulled the kayaks onto shore. As we were getting out, we were looking out a a dark spot on the water, and we figured it was just a duck. Then we decided to go for a swim and get cooled off before climbing back in the kayaks. As we're standing in the water, we're looking at this "duck" swimming towards us. We're thinking this doesn't really look like duck. Then Ken says to me: "Get in your boat, that's a bear!" What an adrenaline rush! The bear changed direction once we started pulling the boats around and making some noise.
:scared1::scared1::scared1: I think I'd need another potty break after that! :rotfl2:

Thank you!

:thumbsup2

The job is in beautiful Prince George, BC. Its 120km north of where we currently live. Ken already works there, so he'll be able to be home every night. We have lots of family there (Kens: dad/stepmom, sister&family, step-brother&family. Mine: parents, sis&family, aunt). We'll be able to stay with family while we deal with getting a new house.

I'm very excited that its a real accounting job so those courses I've been taking will be put to use. Its the start of my new career. Unfortunately, the job is only for 16 months, but its excellent experience and I'm sure I'll be able to find something else later.

THANK YOU NAN! I used all your advise about the switching careers idea.:goodvibes

It will be so good for you all to be near so many family. :goodvibes

OK, so why did the DIS let me keep my all caps words there? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Drives me nuts because I never know what will show up when I click submit.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: Like I said before...I won't be trying kayaking again ;)

I would hope, given the same situation that I would have an adrenaline rush too, but I suspect frozen might be more likely:eek:

I'm up early because I'm going in to work with John today. After I drop him off I'm going to the beach with my old friend Gail. I'm excited.

Brain's wife  I'm glad if it is her  otherwise have a nice time at the beach that is fun too :flower3:

I'm so proud of you for sticking it out and making the change. And if you need some help with real life debits and credits we can skype or email for real time advise. Sometimes it's nice having an ear to help. I wish I had you to help me on a cash flow last night - dang thing wouldn't balance

Good news for new jobs - Gydell Bill is next fingers crossed

First off... you're quoting yourself...

And it's picky that way... (ok... so sometimes it like to let you keep it...)

I think if the whole message isn't in caps it's ok... :confused3

Now I know why I don't go kayaking!!!!!:scared1:

Great news!!! Now if Bill can find one........

It has been a long time. I really hope he finds something very soon.

CONGRATULATIONS SHANNON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm couldn't be more happy for you....persistence pays off. You did great!!!!! Wishing you luck in selling the house and congratulations on the new career.

Gydell, sending positive thoughts and pixie dust for Bill to be next.

I had a great day at the beach yesterday with Gail and Mimossas.....we chatted the day away catching up. It was so peaceful and such a pleasure.

Got to soak my leg in the ocean all day too. It was theraputic.

Next outing is Saturday at the races with Michelle and the QM and possibly nephew Will. I'm getting excited. We're doing an overnight so we'll be at Oliver's for breakfast on Sunday morning before heading home.

Wish us luck so that we can win big.;););););)

Michelle, don't forget to bring Will's bathing suit. Let's do cocktails by the pool in the hotel on Saturday night after the races. We'll pick up some bubbly and toast Cheers! to the Champagne Girls!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

You're such a busy socialite Deb!!!:rotfl2:

Got to be good for you Deb, the leg, and your wellbeing!!!

It's hard because it's being active....driving the car on the highways, lugging the chair and the bag while walking on the sand, etc. I'm not used to doing these things anymore. So it took a lot for me to do it, but I was so determined.

You're such a busy socialite Deb!!!:rotfl2:

Hahahaha....usually my biggest social activity is cruising.

It must be summer because summer is always more busy than winter.

Well all the extra exercise might take it's toll short term, but perhaps the benefits will outweigh that. Next weekend will be fun, though i guess lots of walking and standing around.

I don't have much social activity at the moment. Well, we went over to see our son, daughter in law and little Molly last Sunday and had a nice meal out with them. Molly is just gorgeous.:cutie: They are off to Tenerife for 4 weeks this weekend(they are both teachers). We see the other children and grands too regularly. I go to town for a walk and shop - buying loads of new cruise clothes. Just haven't got to put too much weight on before our 2nd cruise in early January though, and that period includes Christmas!!!!

I'm still taking meds for the pain, which work well, but I am rather dopey and tired early in the evenings, so happy to do nothing.

We have a night away booked for 2 weeks on Sunday to go visit friends who are on the September cruise. Meal and some great laughs and cruise talk.:dance3: Otherwise we are keeping all the money for the cruises and days either side.:thumbsup2

John is in the middle of his second weeks working to cover our son who is in Italy on vacation. They should be having great hot weather. We are cold and damp at the moment. I didn't think i would ever warm up this morning. We have rain or rain showers and cool temperatures forecast for all week unfortunately.:sad2:

There is the big Guiding Centenary Camp being held locally at a large stately home with beautiful grounds.(Harewood House) I believe there are thousands of guides etc from all around the world camping, and today is a big day as day visitors are there, so a few thousand others I guess. At least it has been dry till today if a little overcast. Our Ann, of Ann and Albert, is there with her group. We were supposed to meet for a coffee yesterday, but she had to cancel as she had to take a girl who had missed the bus to her activity!!!! We might manage Thursday or Friday, but failing that, we get to meet up in just 6 weeks!!!!:yay: We are having Geezer meets onboard!!!

Goodness, I'm talkative - the meds have taken effect!!!:lmao:
