I am SINCERELY working on it... it's very close, which I know everyone's heard before, but Michael came home last week and he never would have left Europe if he had to stay to finish anything else up.

I so hope you manage it Michelle. Would be a great return!!! Plus, the prices are good even now, but I am sure there will be deals soon. It is the flights that are the pain.

We have a whole load going on onboard too.

I am a HUGE gift giver. I just always do it spontaneously because I see something that I think someone will like. I get great pleasure out of it.

Those are the best gifts....the ones that are purchased b/c someone was thinking of you :goodvibes

Marilyn...seems like a never ending project.

Now, you guys, DON'T TELL MONICA 'cause it will break her heart (as I know she wants to do it), but I'm trying to convience Nan and Peggy to say on the Queen Mary the night before our two day cruise to nowhere in January. Just messaged Bubba, V and Gaygay on facebook to let them know about it too.

Monica and I have this on our list of pre-cruise stay options for the LA-Vancouver repo cruise, so, as a good friend, I thought I should check it out in advance! :lmao:

Family stateroom with 2 queen beds and my AAA discount is $151 including all taxes. Wouldn't it be great to have breakfast on the Queen Mary and lunch on the Wonder? :thumbsup2 ::yes::

:sad2::sad2::sad1::sad1:
I say go for it....looks like I'll have to fly into LA the day of departure. Let me know if you need me to book it for you.

I will do Holly, thank you.

He has had a busy day. The builders knocked down the wall between the garage and a small back room we used as an office/recycle/rubbish room.;) It is attached to our lounge with a door through. The wall between they knocked down was a double breeze block wall. We had them rebuild the wall with one layer of bricks about 12 inches towards the garage, so with the extra we gained with the width of the wall being less has given us a considerably bigger room. There is also now a door through to the back of the garage. John has been paining in there.

Once this room is finished he will kit out the garage with decent shelves and tidy up in there, put the recycle boxes in there, and anything else we fancy. Then on to the small bedroom, which has been the rubbish, put anything in, tool room, work room, etc, since all the work began last July. Needs sorting, decorating and finishing off. Carpets needed for there and the room he is working on at the moment.

After doing a little titivating in the kitchen, that will be it till next year, then it will be our lounge.

Then I guess it all starts again the following year with the kitchen!:headache::headache::headache:

Let us know when it's all done & you're ready for visitors ;)

Will & I just watched Tyler Perry's "I can do bad all by myself" and getting ready to watch "Ghost town" with Ricky Gervais and Greg Kinnear. Then I'm headed home to bake my cupcakes for tomorrow and do laundry. Will check in later.

Wow, what a lot of work you've had done on your home! I'm sure you'll both be happy when it's all done and quiet and organized. :goodvibes

We hope so Holly. We have never had the extra money to do what we wanted before so it is nice to be able to do it.

Will you have to do a red-eye in order to do that??? At least you'll have time zone changes in your favor. So will you have day(s) at the Vancouver end? I'd love to play in Vancouver a bit, but I'm thinking $$ will be tight with the Alaska stuff and may have to come right home. Plus, I still can't get my head around these stupid mid-week cruises.

Well, another morning spent on the computer...must groom, feed and shop now!

Monica, how did your cake turn out last week? I've been wondering all week!

Flights are more than the cruise... :headache: Has anyone started talking about linking dining, etc?

I found truffle just the other day... :lovestrucv:lovestruc

Yes there are people linking dining, and also linking areas of dining rooms at early and late dining. We aren't doing this though. We have 3 UK friends we have linked with and they aren't part of the Dis thread. Well, Dawn posts occasionally but that's about it. Whilst it would be lovely to have you join us, and you are more than welcome to, I rather think you would prefer the larger groups at meal times!!!:lmao: Angie and Dennis are at early dining. Not sure which dinner Connie and Chuck and Ann and Albert are at. There really are some lovely people on the thread. Next Jan's PC cruise is much harder to relax into though. It is so funny how things are.

At the moment there are lanyards still available, and a whole load of different drinks tastings going on. FE lists are still open - they are in groups of about 15 cabins I think. There is a PJ breakfast, Scavenger Hunt, Secret Mickey, Candy Bar Swap, Postcard Swap, Old Geezer and GIT meets, etc.

The expensive flight is out of Vancouver back. Any thoughts? I know it's cheaper to fly back out of Seattle than it is out of Vancouver.

One of the options being mulled over is a group train ride adventure down to Seattle and departing from there. It's just an issue of who is playing in Vancouver for a day or so and who might playing in Seattle and/or heading straight home from Seattle. I think the train sceanerio requires a overnight in Seattle, unless one took a very late flight home. :confused3

I'm still working on this November trip and the January weekend trip (which is shaping up nicely!). Also, I really won't know for several months yet if the Alaska portion is a go. Which reiminds me...still need to check my lottery tickets! :lmao:

I have not looked at the Alaska thread in about 6 months. I sort of got turned off early on with overly bossy entities.

I think right now we have our table all set, which is the most important thing.

The next activities to plan will be such things as the official "Bump into Marllyn and John on Deck and Have a Lovely Chat" event.
