:yay: its the weekend! Its lousy weather for us, but it's okay, its still a 3-day weekend! The kids are off camping, and will have fun. They got to give Ken part one of his birthday present already, and have the rest ready for later in the weekend.:goodvibes
I love my kids, but I'm happy they are off having some fun without us. My patience has been very short lately, for whining, complaining, crying and perpetual forgetting, so sending the kids off is a good break for us and them.

 Hi everybody!

:grouphug: for Michelle! Hope your time at the lake helped you feel better!

:grouphug: for Deb and your wonky leg!

:grouphug: for Marilyn and her surgury which will soon be over!

:grouphug: for everybody who's still checking in on here!

I enjoyed Acapulco....went horseback riding in the mountains.

Puerto Vallarta -- lovely day spent outside the Cove Cafe with Jackie at my side and Benita looking out for the 2 of us. Napping, looking out at the water & reading :) This was also the day I tried a BBC for the 1st time :goodvibes

Michelle -- glad you got back home safely

Maz - prayers continuing up for you & the proceedure tomorrow.

V, Maz & Cheri - thank you so much for our trip down memory lane - I've loved hearing what we did & seeing the pics.

Name change for my agency (thanks to Ian)...I'm now the proud owner of The Sophisticated Mouse Travel....hope to have the website finished this weekend.

:hug:s, and :wizard: to all :goodvibes pirate:
Monica, I love the agency name, congrats!!! :goodvibes

Well I was thinking there are less and less people around these days, so in another year with all the other cruises people are taking then it is only natural for this one to become a just a very happy memory!!:)

Marilyn, I really think the core group that has stuck around will continue to stick around. :grouphug: Remember, right after the cruise, everybody was sure we'd all disappear, now here we are, 2 years later. :cheer2:

Acapulco was not my favourite port by a long shot, but I am glad I got to see it...I just won't be going back. When I remember it, I always think of Vicki falling and breaking her wrist :guilty:

PV is a very different memory though! I loved the zip lining experience :woohoo:

I wanted to do zip lining so badly! If I can ever manage to take a vacation without Tyler, then I'll be able to do it. Some day! :thumbsup2

Shannon, I hear ya, 100%! ;) Tyler was home from school for a couple days this week and I was about to pull all my hair out by the end of that 2nd day because he was driving me crazy! Not misbehaving, but just annoying and irritating. :headache: 2 days from now, I get a week break and am really looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

I've had a very busy, tiring but good week! Sunday I worked for hours and hours outside, mowing the lawn and weeding and weeding and weeding :faint: I've had sore muscles ever since! Made me realize just how out of shape I am!

My next day off, Wednesday, I went on a nice long walk with Sara, then cleaned inside the house and cooked dinner for Brian, Tammy, Jesse and Serenity. It was a beautiful weather day so we got to spend some time out in the yard and on the deck which was nice. Went to bed exhausted that night too!

Tonight after work, I spent 3 hrs going through my pics from the TA cruise at our photolab kiosk to finally get them printed! Oh my gosh, I need to start doing this from my computer at home! They are half price this week so I had put it off until now to try to save a bit. Then I had to grocery shop and then come home to do my laundry. I work tomorrow, but I have Sunday and Monday off work :cool1: Yippee, two days in a row :thumbsup2

Nan and Holly and Shannon...cheers for each of you, I know you do all this and more and have young children to look after too :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I did once upon a time too....I must be getting old :eek:

You're making me tired! ;) I have to admit, I don't get all that stuff done. The yardwork and house cleaning are sacrificed for more fun with Tyler, but then when he's gone I'm just plumb lazy.

Shannon, sorry the 2nd part of the exam didn't go well, but you have a good attitude about it. And it could just mean that wasn't the job for you. The right one is still out there, waiting until the time is right.

Monica, sounds like your migraines haven't been as frequent. Haven't heard you mention one for a while. :yay::yay::yay:

Deb, sorry about your leg. Just seems like somebody should be able to do something for you.:hug::hug:

Marilyn, your procedure will be starting shortly, I'll be sending good wishes your way. Hoping all goes well and that you recover quickly.:hug::hug:

Just a quick drive by. Hi to you all.

Today we are dropping anchor in CABO SAN LUCAS

This may be the last nice weather day today so make the most of it and enjoy whatever you have planned.

Remember, tonight is PIRATE NIGHT. pirate: Don't forget the Pirate Group Photo.

See you all later.

Good luck today!!!

We'll hold the ship for you!!! :grouphug:

Thank you,and thanks to everyone for your good wishes and prayers.

I've been AWOL from here this week. Madly trying to get the year end reporting done for the volunteer stuff, but won't make the deadline so I filed for an extension, and will finish it this weekend, and I'm definitely done after this :cool1:
I was also doing some review as I had to go write a 2.5 hour exam as step 2 of the job application process, which I did yesterday, and I did not do well. I really wasn't sure what to expect, and I ran out of time. So at least I know what to expect next time an opportunity comes up. Another experience, a little bit more learned, and I'm still working at a job I don't like but pays the bills.
Work has been stressful this week. I'm extremely happy (and also guilty feeling) that I left work early on Wed to take Kaleigh to her intro to Kindergarten meeting. It turns out 15 minutes after I left there was a major fire in plant, resulting in an evacuation. Luckily everybody got out and no injuries other than 5 people treated for some inhalation and all were back to work the next day. The plant will be down probably until the end of the month so its strangely quiet at work.

Already got a Thank You card bought for Shaelyn's leader. The 100year Guides party was not great. Shaelyn says she's glad she went but she only had a little fun. Unfortunately it was poorly organized for spaces to sleep and for the food. Shaelyn's leader said it was very frustrating. But Shaelyn did enjoy doing some "trading" which was something new to her. Shaelyn will have more fun at the small local 2 night campout she's going on in 2 weeks. Her leader has been great, and even made sure to find out and let me know when Kaleigh could go for a visit to a Sparks unit to try it out, since she will be able to join it next year.

Sorry to hear you haven't been appreciated as a leader. The whole Guides/Scouts stuff is so dependant on the volunteer leaders. So THANK YOU from all the mom's/dad's that can't make the time to be leaders and rely on the rest of you.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

:cool1::goodvibes:cool1::goodvibes Yeah! get it done, get healed, enjoy your next vacation!

Love the name! Friends and Relations was cute, but Ian's suggestion is more open to the world!:goodvibes

As Deb said, the thread may slow down but we keep coming back.

Time to leave work and get my girls home to pack so they can go camping with my parents this weekend! :goodvibes

Sorry that work is so stressful. I certainly know what that's like. I try to not get too emotionally wrapped up in it.

I think that Facebook is slowly replacing this thread as a way to stay up-to-date with people.

I know when I'm on the road, the DIS is too slow and complicated, whereas FB allows me to do more faster.

Off to NYC again on Sunday. This was my choice. It's not a matter that I want to be in NY but I should be. It's the prudent thing to do.

I am also coming down with something. I felt awful yesterday and when I got off the bus would have/should have turned around and gone back home. But I had too many bloody meetings scheduled and it was important I was there.

I was supposed to be at a WW training class last night but skipped it. I need to get myself well for my trip to NYC Sunday. I decided that was a higher priority.

Oh well, another week in NY. Something is going on with hotels in the downtown area. The only ones I could find were near $400 a night. I'm going to be staying at a Sheraton in Brooklyn, about 2 subway stops away.

I called the hotel to find out about the location and subways. They told me that it's in "Brooklyn Heights." I looked at the map. Brooklyn is my hometown. I wanted to say, "And since when did they move Brooklyn Heights all the way over there?" It sort of like seeing house listed that say they're in Lincoln Square and they are pretty far from here. When we bought this house 20 years ago, the boundaries of Lincoln Square were very tiny (and I have a magazine article from 1991 that has a map of the neighborhood to prove it). It was a postage stamp sized neighborhood. In recent years, as it's become trendy, there are more and more areas that are claiming to be part of the Lincoln Square neighborhood.

So, back to Brooklyn. First time for me in over 20 years.

You're making me tired! ;) I have to admit, I don't get all that stuff done. The yardwork and house cleaning are sacrificed for more fun with Tyler, but then when he's gone I'm just plumb lazy.

That's okay, you have your priorities straight :goodvibes

That's okay, you have your priorities straight :goodvibes

Aw, thanks Kathe! I wish I could get my mom to believe that, instead of having to hear her sarcastic comments about how lazy I am whenever she comes over. :headache: Oh well......fortunately, I don't have to please her. :thumbsup2

Since I forgot to post PV pics yesterday...

Morning Cruisers....Marilyn I'm thinking of you today....prayers and hugs and pixie dust.

I'm a little behind so I'm posting pics from Acapulco first.

Who IS this guy? Anybody know him? (Hot pic Bubba!)

acapulco002-1.jpg

We did the cliff divers too. We sat in the restaurant in the shade drinking something cold....no crowds until we left. As we were going out we saw Marilyn and John coming in. That's when it got crowded.

The next day we had Palo brunch.

More memories....

Puerto Vallarta

We took a snorkel cruise and everyone got stung by jellyfish. So to make up for it, the boat was rockin on the ride back and the drinks were flowing.
