We had the unfound joy of making two trips to the Old Orchard Mall in Skokie today. That's more trips that we made in the last 6 months of 2009.
Sukie's iMac started acting up again. This was after I tried what the tech suggested I do. It was worth a shot, but it didn't work.
This time I also had screen shots.
So, I made another appointment at the Apple Store, which turned out to be 5:00 pm. We loaded Sukie's iMac back in the car and drove back out there.
This time I had a different tech, showed him the screen shots and this time, the crafty iMac which was as good as gold with the first tech in the morning, froze on the second tech in the afternoon.
The diagnosis is that something is wrong with the logic board, and so it will be replaced.
This is good news and I'm glad we acted quickly in light of there being only 41 days left on the Applecare agreement.
We're hoping that Sukie will get his iMac back next weekend, so that our house and computer routines can return to normal.
Hope you have both had an enjoyable evening!
I hadn't been to a movie for a long time and went to see "It's Complicated" this week. Loved it! Has anyone else seen it?
Glad you were able to get it taken care of today, even though it meant two trips to the mall
Two things I hate to be without...my car and my computer! I got off work at midnight tonight. It is very cold -11C. My car started right upI scraped off the windows, then went to drive home
Something in my "shifter" has broken. I have an automatic, but couldn't get it to go into any gear, the shifter just moves loosely back and forth. Not describing it very well, but basically I can't put the car in drive or even in nuetral! Not sure if maybe a cable or something has broken or if my transmission is toast
I have CAA but didn't want to have them come so late at night and tow me to
Luckily my son was home and got out of bed to rescue his mom
Guess I'll be without the car for at least a few days. There won't be anyone at the garage to call about it until Monday.

Woohoo!! Checked in online for both flights tomorrow. Packed and 2 of the 3 bags locked. Legs defuzzed and hair washed. Lasst minute washing is in the dryer. Sitting here now with a cappuccino to relax. Just last minute things now. Will be setting off in 3 hours.
We will have internet access for all but the week of the cruise. Did I mention we are cruising!!!So, I will be checking in and checking up on all your antics!! Unfortunately because I don't farm, ranch or look after fish or an island any more we don't need 2 computers, so I will have to wrestle John's out of his hands!!
Marilyn,
You travel almost as much as Betty Windsor.
I just can't fit in the cruises, it is such a problem!!!![]()

I heard yesterday that there is some sort of tournament going on today?
Enjoyed it very much!
It's a 'pissa about your car. Hope it's not a major expense to get fixed.
Well said....Kathe - hope it doesn't turn out to be much & can be fixed easliy and cheaply
...one I manage to ignore every year. HOWEVER, I hear it's a very good day to be at Disneyland! No crowds.....
I'm up early to prepare for my three way conference call this morning. Details to work out for the trip. This is like a whole new adventure, with new ports to look at and international flights. When I told big sis Dianne about the trip (and the good $ value), I said I'd be very watchful of expenses in ports and our two days in London. She said, "It's taken you 30 years to get back across the pond, don't nickle and dime yourself while you are there." And she's right, a few hundred dollars plopped onto the Visa isn't going to make that much difference. AND, I can always rationalize that I'm using my Olympic bonus for those expenses.
.....what? bonus you say? for a plebeian? aren't incentive bonuses just for salespeople?
Yes, friends and neighbors, for the first time in recorded history our company is including a pool of funds for the sales assistants in their current sales incentive/bonus program. If we make the Olympic "budget" I stand to receive $500. If we only get to 80%, I'd get $400, etc. Currently we're at 85%
.
That's great news about the bonus
(I'm sending you an email)
It was a FANTASTIC show!!!!![]()
I kept telling myself I couldn't believe I was at a show with both Mandy Patinkin AND Patti Lupone...
They sang together and also solo for almost 3 hours with the only accompanment of a pianist and a basist... WHAT talent they all had... Packed house... and they got SEVERAL standing O's... I'm so glad I went...
